Luke Humphries showed what a darts player he is. 4-2 down, the entire crowd against him, 99% of the audience watching at home and in pubs against him, and he averages 114, 113, and 109 in three consecutive sets to lead 5-4 when other players would have bottled it. He rode his luck in this tournament, but his performances in the semis and tonight meant he deserved to win in the end. Fair play, Cool Hand. Luke Littler will be back. There's no doubt about that. What a future he has. He will be thinking long and hard about that D2 for many a month to come. Why he went T18 with that 2nd dart, I don't know, but that's darts for you. He didnt go for the T18 it was a mistake coz Luke Littler knows exactly what to go for but that T18 took him out of his stride and it was definitely a mistake. Everyone goes for single 18 to leave Tops on 58. No one ever goes for T18 on a 58, the only way its hit is by mistake.

The sportsmanship right there throughout the match from both players is such a great example for every sports player. Feel for Luke littler. He should be mega proud of what he has achieved. How many 16 years old can claim that. The lad has a very bright future. Luke humpries rode his luck throughout the tournament but he rose in the big moments when it mattered the most. That’s what champions do. They play the big moments better than the rest. That’s why he is the world champion. Really impressed with his rise this year. What an amazing world championship this was.
Wow. Humphries dug in deep to keep from being overwhelmed. Well done. The edge, and it was thin indeed, went to the seasoned player. Littler has nothing to be ashamed about. Again, well done for both players.
So fantastic to see cool hand get to where we all knew he would be!! My Lord can Littler play darts as well! What a fantastic run for the young man. Looking forward to seeing the magic happen this coming year. Congrats!
What a game of darts it was! Cool Hand deserves it and Littler will be champion of the world in the future and I'm pretty sure that this tournament gave him the Premier League spot
They were not against Cool Hand, they were rooting for the underdog super talented kid. Just imagine what a 16 years old kid would feel if they all supported the favorite Cool Hand. This final is bringing an entire new generation in the dart world (competitive and recreational) something that would not have been imaginable without the kid making the final. The real winner here is the sport of darts. 👍👍
"Szekely 'Blade' Pal is a hungarian pro darts player, he usually has 65-75 avg. In his career he threw a few 180s, his best checkout ever is 80, best performance ever is a 13 darter. His biggest win was in a local pub somewhere in a little village of east Hungary, he finished second behind a local alcoholic in a wheelchair. He is really proud of his performance, he said he could teach Luke Littler to be better player. Soon he will be a pensioner, but his future plan is to reach the PDC tour card. He threatened the hungarian crowd about his retirement if he couldn't reach the tour card (everybody was in shock after it)" via Wikipedia
Luke Humphries added to the list of Rob Cross and Michael Smith, players who faced a match dart way earlier in the tournament and went on to win the whole thing, after their opponent's missed it. Cullen's missed double 18 changed Luke Humphries' life.
This final was for a long time incredible, absolutly top class and had almost everything (except from a nine darter:-( ). Congrats to both lukes, one of the best matches of the last years
Humpr is just another level right now. If I were into bets, i would've bet on him +3 sets before the start, but after Littler was up in sets, I thought Humpr was mentally down. How wrong was I! Total class, what a comeback! Respect to both, excellent final! I love darts !!!
Wow!!! What a final!!! Luke Humphries fought back from 4-2 down, and now look at him… he has won the Grand Slam, the World Grand Prix, the Player Championship, and now he has won the world championship!!! Both players deserved all the credit. But you’re gotta feel for Luke Littler, he was such a fighter and should be proud that he even made it to the world final at the age of 16!!!
I used to watch darts back in the eighties with my grandparents. Watching this was something else. The sportsmanship from the players and the talent of the new lad has been a joy to watch.
Having watched a lot of Littler this tournament (as I'm sure most people here have) the one thing I noticed in this match was his throws at the 19s. In some of his previous matches, it seemed like if he missed T20 with his first dart it was automatic that he'd hit a T19 in the follow up. He never quite seemed to find his T19 groove that proved to be so successful in his previous matches, and as a result he didn't apply the same level of pressure that he had seemingly every leg in the previous matches. Hats off to both players, hope to see this matchup again many times!
He was boooed in his hometown, but Luke Humphries displayed class, character, and determination. Indeed, he is more than deserving of being worlds greatest..❤❤❤
This loss for Littler might be better than winning it. The motivation he will get through all the year and the next tournaments to reach this exact stage might be better than winning it now and just think that there is no better achievement to get. Let's see if we get someone who can challenge the legacy of "The Power"
Or it could have the complete opposite effect. As he was most definitely kicking himself at 2 darts on D7 there... And it's the second time he's been beaten. I hope he bounces back, I'm certain he had an injury going on there as he started to miss and you can see the shoulder.
Luke Humphries definetely deserved this World Title after this incredible year. Of course he should have lost against Pietreczko and especially Cullen but he won that trouble games, after that he dominated everything and absolutely deserved that Title and the World Number 1 spot. Luke Littler also played very well and can be very happy with his incredible debut World Championship. Imagine he would have made the Beau Greaves move and would have chosen the WDF WC😂. Overall in my opinion one of the best world championships of the last 10 years, only the 9 darter was missing here😢
The best players always seem to manage to scrap their way through even when their playing poorly. That is what happened for humphries in the earlier rounds
I watched this. The standard was incredible. Probably one of the best finals ever. And there was great respect and as sportsnanship between these two. Amazing game
The fact Littler gave the best player in the world a tough game on the biggest stage shows you how special he is. Fair play to Humphries by far the best player this year and a fully deserved World Championship but Littler will be back to win many more! 🎯
Well done Luke Humphreys! Well deserved win, out scored Littler massively in the 180 department. Both had incredible ton plus finishes, awesome final. 👏👏👏👍
Anyone can throw a dart but to throw to a standard that was shown in tonight's final take real skill desire and a lot of nerve! Hats off to both of you for putting ona show pf how darts should be played ❤
Luke Littler has an amazing career ahead of him he will be a multiple major winner if he has the right people around him as he will no doubt only get even better than he already is congrats to Humphries he has been on fire lately and his high standard has been consistent for a while now. Good Luck to both players moving forward 🤞👍
Happy to see Luke win it. He really deserved it this year. As a dutchy ofcourse i had my hopes up for MvG but unfortunate he had 1 bad day. Big applause to Littler, what a talent and now he still has that hunger for the final win.
SPOILER ALERT: LUKE WINS THE TITLE. But all jokes aside WHAT a tournament and WHAT a fantastic final between the Lukes and up until the moment the final dart went it, u wouldn’t know who was gonna win. It was a fair score line after 4 sets at 2-2 and then Littler made his move as Humphries dropped off a little but the pivotal moment for sure was that 7th set when Littler mistakenly hit T18 when going for single and then narrowly missed the D2 to go 5-2 up. From the moment that Humphries hit the Big Fish he was on a superb level and averaged near or above 110 for a few sets whilst making his comeback and it was too much for Littler in the end. Just a step too far for the teenage sensation who has taken the world of darts by storm and he should be nothing but proud of himself, obviously it’s disappointing to lose in the final but realistically to even win a single match at the Ally Pally is impressive at the age of 16 and this unbelievable talent went all the way to the final and gave a good account of himself all the way through. He had to face the best player in the world in the final and even then he played well. He is still so young and has so much to learn about the tour and the travelling but the game he’s played over the past few weeks shows that he’s already up there with the best dart players in the world. I wish him nothing but all the success and he will surely dominate this sport in the coming years. He’s so mature for his age and handles himself extremely well. As for Cool Hand Luke I’m so happy for him and I met him after he beat Peter Wright, just a few days before he won his first major at the WGP and I told him I believe ur gonna win multiple major titles and he said I hope so and now he’s won 4 majors including the biggest title of them all within the space of 3 months. What a player and he is surely without a doubt the best player in the world. I’ve been calling him the best player in the world since he won the Slam but now there’s no more debate and the rankings back that up. He’s on a massive win streak and he will be hoping to continue in Bahrain. I can’t wait for 2024 and we’ve got a lot of amazing darts to look forward to but for now Luke Humphries is on top of the darting world.

Superb game from both guys. Proper darts!
What an amazing world championship this was.
many who faced littler have beaten themself he was awsome but you could see others thinking isould be beating him and tensing up thus missing doubles
I totally agree with ya. what player littler is for his age! to get to his final maiden final of many to come.
Both hitting a 170 checkout in a final is wild. Congratulations to Luke on winning. Many more for both finalists to come I'm sure
99% of the audience against him and look they have done they wake up the beast inside him.master of the comeback
Super stuff from both players. They’re both winners in one sense.
I know him in personal, and he said that he could easily beat Luke Littler. He said a lot of wrong things about Luke, i think he is pedophile.
What a Final! Two highly talented, likeable players - You can easily cheer for both.
Luke Humphries added to the list of Rob Cross and Michael Smith, players who faced a match dart way earlier in the tournament and went on to win the whole thing, after their opponent's missed it.
Cullen's missed double 18 changed Luke Humphries' life.
Add Van Barneveld against Lloyd too before beating Taylor in the final
When did Smith face a match dart?
Both played like champions. But very happy for the winner as you battled anxiety etc and hope you continue your great recovery. Well done mate. 💪🙏
Both deserved it, awesome final 👏🏻🔥
Amazing standard of darts to play under that sort of pressure. Hats off to both Lukes.
36 180's and countless High check outs !!! Bravo to the winner but the runner up did not disappoint , except on his doubles .
Well done too both guys,,,we will be seeing both for years to come im sure..🎉🎉🎉🎉
This final was for a long time incredible, absolutly top class and had almost everything (except from a nine darter:-( ). Congrats to both lukes, one of the best matches of the last years
A fantastic final played by 2 great sportsman and played in the right spirit and the last game featuring Russ Bray
I swear Humphries has made so many comebacks this tournament.
Gutted for Littler, but I am sure he will be lifting the trophy in the future.
Fantastic final and whole comp was great with many great games and surprises! 👍👍👍
Perfect result. Dude is 16. Humphries is ranked 1.🎯
He looks like at least 32! 😅 He can be the best player of all time in a couple years.
@@guidohauser357hmm i don't think so 😂
What a Final. You can't get better. Two brilliant players.
Humpr is just another level right now. If I were into bets, i would've bet on him +3 sets before the start, but after Littler was up in sets, I thought Humpr was mentally down. How wrong was I! Total class, what a comeback! Respect to both, excellent final! I love darts !!!
he was he went through phase of missing singal numbers he then snapped out of it
Littler's got a huge career ahead of him, to play like that at his age, phenomenal.
Humphries outstanding at times.
Great final.
That missed dart to go 5 : 2 up almost certainly cost Littler £300,000, the title, and immortality.
Cool Hand Luke, always fighting even when down, never give up. A true cool Champion. Sure they will meet many more times. Fan from Singapore ❤🎉
Amazing game from both players. We have some good darts to be had this year.
What a stone cold Humphries performance. I see a really bright future ahead of Littler!
I used to watch darts back in the eighties with my grandparents. Watching this was something else. The sportsmanship from the players and the talent of the new lad has been a joy to watch.
Великолепный финал. Люка с победой!

No, Luke lost mate
Congratulations Luke from Cleveland TN, !:a. Also congrats to Luke Litter way to go mate 😊
He may never get to another final
@@kevinconway5896He will
the power is example to everyone if he was beaten next time he played same player they were beaten
@@kevinconway5896 i think it's still to soon to call it, 16 years is REALLY young. He has a full life ahead of playing darts.
Awesome game!. Peace, love and respect my darting brothers. Thank you for the exceptional entertainment!.
What a final! Humphries won 5 sets in a row to win the whole thing! Hats off to Littler but Humphries' victory is well deserved!
Brilliant. Congratulations and thanks to them both. Now THIS was exciting to watch.
Overall in my opinion one of the best world championships of the last 10 years, only the 9 darter was missing here😢
At least there was a good amount of finishing.
Bernard Greaves. Hopefully that's the end of the nonsense talk about that lad
all other top players have being so erratic this year the level has dropped
@@ChrisThornburn-ke5xk Makes things more exciting but you're right Price, Smith MVG all been below par as well.as the likes of Aspinall too
@@UnitedReds99 many say today they play to many tournaments
one stage it looked like humphries was giving littler the match he looked like pub player he then clicked into gear and took control
Well done Luke Humphreys! Well deserved win, out scored Littler massively in the 180 department. Both had incredible ton plus finishes, awesome final. 👏👏👏👍
Well deserved win 🏆
Amazing lad Littler. Will definitely do wonders in the future but fair play to Humphries, he deserved it!
Thank you for uploading without any spoilers.
The video is just 1 min old and you've written this much 🤣🤣 You write it before, save it in notes , then wait for the video to upload ?? 😂😂😂😂😂 hilarious
So I guess you effected Humphries' rise to the top in a way.
@@ssizaaYa if he writes this much for a daily, he would at least earn something.
All the best to Russ Bray! What a man!!
The Top Dog put the Young Pup back in his place. Luke Humphries World Champion.
Great final and a huge thank you to russ, we will definitely miss the voice of darts 👌🏻👏🏻👏🏻👍🏻🍻🥃🇬🇧
Littler had the key moments against him, still played amazing and was extremely hard to shake off. Huge Respect! Humphries had to give it all and got to a level, where he was almost unplayable. What a final and great tournament.
Ive been waiting for this moment couldn't wait like I said all that spouting and when he comes up against a top ender he gets done 😂 brilliant and as for the deviant gf makes my skin crawl if it was the other way round people would be going crazy. I just stumbled across darts. This is absolutely electric, fan for life
Just got back to my hotel after watching a great match but i was disgusted with the crowd. The atmosphere was like being at a boxing match. This was my first time at the darts but in future i will stay at home. Thankfully the ticket was a Christmas present so it didn't cost a lot of money.
You're one lucky chap 😂
What was wrong with it looks like good craic lol
I’m from Argentina and start following this sport, great.
Bookies got it right... Humphries has ice in his veins..

So it actually said that on the bookmaker website.
How do they work out what they need to score so quickly?
I don't like to brag but I've beaten both of these players in a few friendly darts matches. I'm probably the best darts player in the world but because I don't want to be famous I stepped away from the limelight..
I would have had a video of me beating both Luke's but they forgot to press record on the camera or something.

Are y'all sure he's 16 years old? 😮 What will he look like when he's 30? 😂
About 80
He has a beer belly just waiting for beer. Born for the sport.
Thoughts below:
Congratulations to Humphries for becoming World Champion. Littler put up a strong effort but in the end, Humphries was just too strong for him. But Littler has done brilliantly to get this far, and he’ll win plenty of titles in the future. Tonight belongs to Humphries though. Right now, he is the best in the world.
Magnificent game!!! How patient were humpries did, a truly championn

The future of darts looks very bright indeed.
Well played lads.
If luke littler not in the premier league this year put me down for not watching x
The lad doesn’t even want to be in it. Calm down, and stop trying to push the lad with so much so soon

I think he will be automatically in it because of humpries akready quslifued through his previous major win. Im not sure
