I just got back from being there tonight. And I've never heard so many boo's for anyone. Although I'm a Littler fan, I was not a big fan of the crowd tonight. Tough loss for De Decker, and crazy scenes when Luke won. The support for Luke in-person is wild!

Mike would have won if the crowd wasn't involved, but either way great darts from both. Van Veen really the best player of the tournament so far, and Anderson was brilliant at times 🔥 Good to see

feeling for him too ....stayed calm all the way through but missed too many doubles when it counted most . The Nuke knew he played not so well
I don't get it,the crowd was whistling even when littler was throwing.....come on....the guy had a good run in the middle of the match ,so the crowd couldn't be that bad....then when it matter most ,Littler did what champions do,and won.....

Also he missed a match dart and the had poor scoring in the last couple of legs where Luke scored well and took advantage

I was in the crowd at the Flanders Darts Trophy in Antwerp and saw De Decker play against Michael Smith and Bunting. The crowd was very respectful towards the British players. So don't give me bull about it "literally happens everywhere".

The Littler-de Decker game was spoilt by the whistling of de Decker in the final few legs, when he was going for clutch doubles. Littler played very well to take advantage of this, but it leaves a sour taste in the mouth when the clearly better player on the night loses because of an unruly crowd. The PDC have to get on top of this issue of whistling. Darts fans want to see close matches between brilliant players like Littler and de Decker decided by skill, not by excessive crowd bias. I hope de Decker does not feel too beaten up by this turn of events. He is playing so beautifully, and can realistically be a top ten player in the coming year or two.
Nothing they can do except change venues. You can't really stop it. I would much rather see the majors rotate around Europe anyway, some of the atmospheres in the world series events were far better than the crowd at this event.
Probably gamblers they ruin the match for everyone just so they can win a fiver, not darts fans.

Very sad for De Decker. This defeat will be very difficult for him to come to terms with. If the spectators hadn't influenced the game to his disadvantage at crucial moments, he would probably have won. But it was also impressive how Littler was able to fight his way back after falling behind. But in general it was a disastrous evening for Belgian dart players. Van den Bergh missed 8 (!) match darts against Wattimena. The player I liked the most tonight was Van Veen. I thought he couldn't possibly match his extremely high averages from the group stage. Well, he proved me wrong. If he keeps playing like this, it's hard to imagine how anyone can stop him. But he's young, the distance will increase significantly in the quarter-finals, which should make it much harder for him to keep up his high average for a whole game. I'm curious to see how he can deal with a crisis within a game. And the old veteran Gary Anderson will certainly also want to have his say. Rob Cross shouldn't be underestimated either. Now that the top three players in the world rankings have already been eliminated after the group stage, the title fight at the Grand Slam of Darts is more open than ever before. And we've already seen this year that “lesser-known” players can win big titles. So anything is possible, and that's what makes darts so exciting these days.
In any case, I'm looking forward to the next few games and days.

De Decker might need to put in earpods and just keep playing his walk on tune. Very entertaining game. He should have won it but great comeback from Littler. I think they will both learn a lot from that game.
The crowd are so pro British with all the whistling, but ive heard the same on the pro tour on the continent against the brits. Its oart if the game now sadly. Gotta feel for both the belgians, especialy van de berg.

Its not littlers fault that the crowd booed de decker on every throw. Unfortunately though littler didnt take the opportunity in the interview afterwards. He could have been a great sportsman by calling out whistling and booing in general. However he decided to call the audience "amazing" instead.
The crowd was terrible yes, but let's not act like it's the first time, they do it at the worlds every year. Until the PDC start rotating venues around Europe, you won't stop it when British players are playing the others. At the end of the day, it's up to Mike to keep it together & the crowd weren't that bad when he was 8-4 up, Luke just got lucky to catch up on some legs and then played unreal in the last couple legs.

My mate was in Hildesheilm for the Snakey v Littler final and he called me after and said "did you hear wot they was saying to littler".
I said i didnt hear much ar all.
He said they was shouting to him and his family that he abused his ex,was calling out on his doubling and saying some real rotton personal. stuff.
