Helpful video bud. Restoring my 88 gt and wanted to change my grey interior to black but really didn't want to pull the dash for spraying. Seeing this gives me the confidence to do it myself. Great tips and really appreciate the modest and very honest approach to how you present yourself on your channel. Keep the content coming!
This is exactly what I’m doing with my 1990 GT! Bought the satin black for everything and was worried about the dash as well. Glad to see that it’s doable
Just put a little tree over here, maybe a little bird over there..... oh oh and some big blocks of aluminum riiiiiight here. Lol good video man! Love to see the humor between Andrew and yourself.
Loving the outcome. A heat gun after all is prepped for spray with melt and blend in deep scratches! Scratch up again and clean and spray away! Unless the wife watches your channel she'll never know that 2days after buying her new truck that I tore up the cargo area with a fender! Lol
Man! Brew2l I just dyed a good set of grey tweed seats with the satin black that you recommended in another video! I am surprised how the seats turned out money staying in my pocket as I am already in it for way more than I ever imagined. Thanks to your recommendation on the color! Thank you
I love the adhesion promoter. It made the SEM stick to my boat seats like glue. The finish was very tough. I've tried SEM without using the adhesion promoter before, and the paint flaked off. This stuff is all paint NOT a dye. The trick with the adhesion promoter, is you have to get the timing right. If it says wait 10 minutes, wait exactly 10 minutes. Follow the instructions to the letter. The adhesion promoter must contain some form of acid... it will burn your skin. I noticed it also "burned" into the surface of the boat seats. But this makes sense because when they're slightly "melted" on the surface, they're ready to bond with any paint that is sprayed on them. Because the adhesion promoter is a glue that is also going to "melt" into the paint as well. So you essentially have the paint gluing itself to the surface. That kind of bond is much tougher than just letting the paint lay down on top of the surface, and hoping it sticks and doesn't flake. For me, without the promoter, it flaked. With the adhesion promoter, it was tough as nails. Just my experience. I'd never use SEM without the adhesion promoter.
Looks great. I’m actually in the middle of doing a black interior dye job on my coupe using your old video of spraying interior parts as a reference. Man people just don’t understand what a diff the fresh interior paint makes!!!!
Dude stays dropping knowledge. I had no idea that all dashes were dyed. Makes me feel a little better about my cracked one. I can just find a new one I'm better condition and dye it.

I absolutely love watching your channel! So much information, yet you simplify it. Anyway, I have a 1992 LX 5.0 Deep Emarald Green exterior with grey interior. I bought her brand new in Tustin, California, and absolute love this car. It's time to refresh her and get it back on the road. The heads it turned when I drove it regularly several years ago, was amazing. Anyway, to my question..... I found a few cracks near the screw heads in the interior, particularly in the back on the large panels you show in this video. Do you have any recommedations on repairing these? Thanks in advance from Savannah, Georgia!
Really looks great on video the panels look like new learned alot about foxbodies you're doing a great job even new vehicles have flaws keep the video's coming great job
