To everyone hating on him cause you’re too sensitive to take a joke.... it was a fuckin joke. GET OVER IT. Some lighthearted joking from him is 1,000,000x better than what she heard every night on the street. This dude helps out SOO MANY people because he wants to. Not because he has to. Edit: More than happy to field new comments aimed at me but please read the thread before responding to me. A ton of you that are just coming in and getting triggered are repeating things said years ago by others. Read through and simply like the comments that sing the same exact song you about to sing. Thank you kindly.
How does he help them? Have you genuinely looked at the channel? Looked at how he labels these people? You see their negative aspect before you see their names. And in this particular video, we know it was a joke. Still creepy to joke like that knowing her situation. And he, himself, stated that he spoke that way specifically because he didn’t think he would use the footage. That’s not an excuse and it makes it even worse because it shows that when his guard is down and he doesn’t think anyone will see, that’s how he “plays” around with vulnerable women. Now I’m sure you’re going to keep caping for him but his actions are reprehensible. But let’s change things up a bit. If you heard him say these same jokes to a child that was rescued from a sex trafficking ring, would it still be “just a joke”? And please show where he’s actually helping these people.

No. He literally HAS TO if he wants to have people click on the video. 2. After he gets you to click on the video he lets the individual share any piece of information he is willing to share. They choose to share what they want. & yes I have looked into this channel, but you don’t have to dig insanely deep to see how he tries to help them when he feels they need his help. & so fuckin what if he doesn’t help them. IT’S NOT HIS JOB. Again, he chooses to. & lastly, 3. I don’t have to source any information that I’ve gathered. You can look it up yourself if you feel so upset for these people. I did it to see for myself. & I found what I was looking for. Maybe you can do the same.
Oh, & there are different situations where you know what you can & can’t say. I’m sure after the many interviews he has grown a keen ability to judge wether an individual is being highly closed off or more open & comfortable with him. I was abused neglected before I was adopted. After his interview started with me I know he’d find out quickly that I’m very open about it & I even joke about it. But if he were to get someone who was more reclusive & cried a lot or something of the sort he wouldn’t even think about joking. Am I even remotely right?? @Soft White Underbelly

I’ve tried to get Amanda to let me take her to a rehab or mental health facility several times, but I don’t think a pack of horses could get her to cooperate. The only way I see of her getting clean is if she were to end up in jail for a month or two. Even if that were to happen it’s doubtful that she’d stay clean once she got released. To my way of thinking our best plan is to address the education, wealth and opportunity inequalities families like Amanda’s face so that the children don’t take the hit when the parents resort to criminal acts to survive.

Would she be brought to jail or would they admit her to a mental health facility instead? I can’t see her being thrown into a general population jail, but I’m also not quite sure how California’s legal system works.

I think the reason why Amanda impacted all of us so profoundly is because we got to see her decline and how bad her disease and mental illness had gotten and it scared us tbh and also the possibility that someone can even be worse off than she was scared us as well. But I believe seeing her get better towards her end gave us hope, hope in everything good. Wow, this series and her life was just very heavy to take it all in.

people struggling are not put on this earth to be more comfortable people's inspiration or "story of hope." It's not about you. People call addicts selfish but well people are selfish and use real humans' intense struggles to watch like a movie and feel better when there's a "happy ending" and get upset when they don't get their happy ending. Amanda lost her life. Ya'll just watch a few videos and feel sad for a day and then everything is fine for you tomorrow.

Omg I jus saw both n I was like damn.. she aged 30-40 yrs in a few months
She did an interview again a year later and she had a black eye, she had lost a few of her teeth and she was a lot skinnier. But when asked if she’d be okay if they walked her over to a mental health facility, she refused and said, “I’m gonna get killed today or tomorrow so I wanna be out and doing crack” Sad to hear of her demise, I think she would’ve survived and continued college if she had agreed to receive help. R.I.P Amanda.
Edit: So turns out she did receive help. She was clean when she passed away. However, She died from the physical damage caused by her long term drug abuse along with the traumatic brain injuries caused by multiple rapes and beatings she went through as an addict and a homeless woman. Life can be so cruel sometimes. Now, only that’s left are her memories. We’ll always remember you, Amanda.
The above information comes from an unknown source and the article released has now been taken down. There are still multiple theories to her death. I would suggest watching BJ investigation’s video on Amanda. She takes a deeper dive into her story and explains every aspect clearly.
She did get help. She was clean when she passed away. No drugs in her system except Tylenol per her autopsy. Edit: seems I was wrong and foul play may have been involved. At the time I made this comments that was the information available. I wanted good for Amanda. I hope she has it now. In peace. I hope her soul is at rest and her mind is her own now.

"I tried working at other things. I tried working at petsmart, at xyz...it just didint work out. Because I made many mistakes." This is what made me cry. How many times do we see others making mistakes at their jobs and we just get impatient, complain to the managers, even get them fired. We never stop and think with emapthy, they could be struggling. Like her. All we think is..."they are not serving ME fast enough" and whine. Its really sad to see how she deteriorated. And how she was forced into prostitution bc she could not hold a job like a normal person, and this led her to drugs, rapes...do we ever stop to think about the consequences of getting someone fired bc we feel entitled? Does a manager use compassion at all? This is what happens to those who we call "weak" when we turn our backs on them and we never feel the pain bc we never see what happens to them , well here we have it. She dealt with trauma which is why she coulndt function normally and why she couldnt turn away from drugs. Trust most addicts deal with this. Only way out is therapy, abstinence...but it is so hard. Your abilities are very diminished by trauma (ie you have trouble focusing or retaining information) and while you try to deal and relearn the world is not an understanding or patient place. Especially these stupid dead end jobs where they fire you jn a heartbeat. If God ever gives me a chance, my favorite way of helping others would be to provide jobs where I actually treated workers with faith, empathy, respect, compassion. And NO, the customer is NOT always right. We ALL deserve to be heard and seen, not just the customer. The workers are also having an experience, they are humans not slaves. This poor girl just never had a chance to catch a breath in life. RIP. Update: i saw recent videos where she made an amazing recovery before her death which only solidifies my point. All she needed was someone to believe in her. She has left such a legacy. Many will be inspired. If you are here...lets choose to be the kind of human that believes, lets show empathy, in life, at our jobs, as customers, as humans...we can do this.

So her mental illness is clearly presenting itself. Her speaking about the spitting in her food is obvious signs of her paranoid schizophrenia. This situation is way past the drugs. I feel like she was using the drugs to cope with the trauma and the visions of the mental illness.

As a parent this scares me. I'm sorry that she passed. Was definitely displaying symptoms of mental illness toward the end of the video. Some psychosis is drug induced. She needed support and services.

Does nobody understand the point of what he’s doing? He is trying to show the reality this. He asks crude questions to show the reality. He asks what they’re doing either to see if he can help or to show the reality of their day to day lives! The compliments are not meant to be predatory, they’re supposed to be uplifting. Yes this stuff is hard to watch. But that’s exactly the point.

@Marlon Davis Um...that comparison is wayyyy off. This is nowhere near similar to watching people get kidnapped tortured and murdered 0_o. He actually helps the people who want to be clean and have a better life. He starts a gofundme for them and is helping a few people get better living conditions. And a lot of people after watching the video of themselves actually see that they need to change and seek help. People in the area that have good lives avoid eye contact with these people and treat them like they are sub human, this guy actually talks to them and is interested to know if they are ok and what their story is.

@@giraffe1219 I get what you're saying, I really do. But there IS help out there for the people who REALLY want it. Not only is this a platform for people who struggle with addiction or mental disorders/trauma, but to my understanding they offer different resources of some level of help. I'm almost certain that these people have options to get help. I don't think they are interviewed and then tossed back out into society without any attempts. But what if they don't want it? These are all adults here, some are younger than others...but you can't tie them with a rope and drag them to a rehab center. They have to be WILLING to go. The sad reality is that a lot of these people have stopped caring about themselves enough to not want to see better from themselves. So when you say that this is what America allows to happen to people, know that these are what people allow to happen to themselves as well. There are good people out there that would love to help anyone in this situation. At a certain point, after you're done blaming everyone, you have to take accountability for your life and how you contribute in making it it better or worse.

I came back here after recently finding out she passed away this morning (may 15th) from natural causes caused by her past life in the streets. Im glad Amanda passed sober and with dignity and wanted everyone to know about her story. All she had in her system was Tylenol, according to someone close to her. Amanda, you are now at eternal peace surrounded by angels 😇 ❤

Yes!!! And also Schizophrenia almost becomes worst when you smoke weed which she mentioned she did a lot in college. I had a friend with a full ride, a literally was awarded with all the biggest academic opportunities at our school. About a month in he started smoking weed and his symptoms started and he was diagnosed. He turned into a completely different person (I’ve known him since middle school). He was always paranoid, even believed that the doctor lied about him having schizo, and would terrorized people. By the end of our freshman year he was expelled and banned from our schools campus. Literally whole life flipped in less than 9 months.

So sad what drugs do to an already fragile mental state. Thank you for bringing us her story. Amanda, along with other addicts and homeless need to know that there ARE people that care. I wish someday to have a rehabilitation homestead where everyone can build their own cabin and maintain their own land/garden, sustaining on trade and skills. Think of all the talent in areas like this and all the resources wasted due to nothing productive to do that is truly satisfying.

This is just heartbreaking. More needs to be done in the community worldwide to prevent these things from happening. Every story i've watched starts with either rape, being molested or abused. Seeing this girls transformation and seeing her from being i'm assuming healthy, to then having a black eye, and then being a full drug addict is so heartbreaking!. This should hopefully bring a lot of awareness because so many people out there who are ignorant, don't see or have any knowledge about what happened to individuals like Amanda in the past. Honestly i hope god helps their souls to get back on the right path and for someone out there to give them a safe work opportunity because no one deserves to have a traumatic past like these stories. Yall my cousin is schizophrenic and not cus of drugs. But this is exactly how you have to keep the convo moving. They say something outlandish and it can be really sad. But when he made that joke I laughed cus this is EXACTLY how conversations with my cousin has to go. Cus I miss who my cousin was. I miss what our conversations used to be but when they aren’t mentally well the conversation can turn ugly but you have to ebb and flow with it to not upset them, traumatize them further, or have them disengage. It’s a learning lesson even for someone like me with my own mental health issues.

@@marciafab7 There really is. So many people are so condescending or rude. It’s unnecessary. The conversation may not always make sense but it helps to gauge what’s possibly going on. I think with schizophrenic people especially you’ll get bits and pieces of the person that’s genuinely who they are and then you’ll get pieces of them that’s not them. With bipolar people you’ll get no parts of who they are when they aren’t manic. But I could be just basing that off when I’ve seen a person spiral out and they become completely unrecognizable to me based on their behavior and that’s how I know they are having a manic episode. That’s why we have to know the signs and symptoms and even the ones that overlap when a person has more than one mental health issue at a time. But I think there’s no greater experience than having a mentally ill loved one that you care about and want the best for. You put more time into trying to learn more for the sake of their overall well being and even yours.
