Lmao if u listen to hendrix when he plays it he's making the sound of planes and explosions. The whole thing was an anti-veitnam stunt. This, on the other hand, was a big fuck you to the American political system. Lol.
@FatalErr0r yeah I dont remember Kurt ever saying that, but I think youre right he was a Hendrix fan. U can tell the influence in a lot of nirvana songs. The way Kurt would double the vocal melody with a line on a guitar occasionally.. like in 'blew'.. that to me is a very 'Hendrix at Woodstock' thing
Kurt got Hendrix and internet-guitarists say he could barely play guitar, no wonder music today sucks... anyone with a left handed guitarrist in their band will have great music, try only listening to lefty guitarists its always gonna be varying music.
The user "Welshrockfan" on youtube commented this in another video: - "me and my mate were at reading 92,nirvana were awesome as you can see,at the end kurt gave his guitar 2 sumbody about 10 foot away from me and as he left the stage the shithead security took it from the kid,i would never of let go of kurts guitar,...." What an ass the securitygurad was :S
@soundofmusic94 That happens to me a lot at gigs where I really get into it. I think he must've picked the same way i do- the side of my pinky and cuticle of middle finger slide over the strings ahead of the pic. Eventually flays the skin off. I played a 3 song set at a club last fall and didn't notice till I was done that the pick and guitar were sprayed.......

Get youself Superfuzz Bigmuff cd and My Brother The Cow. Gives the two sides of Mudhoney - the original grunge and the stuff from when they were signed to a major. Both brilliant. Their new one the Lucky Ones anit bad either. Back on Sub Pop they are.
It's the closest to Jimi's version I've ever seen... the sound, the feedback, the feel. Incredible.
I love the fact this video ends with 3 mins of blank tape and time code. its somehow fitting.
I wonder if Cobain was thinking of Hendrix when he did this.
I just commented something similar lol

On smashed guitar for smashed sound

This comment aged well!
He really said "fuck it, America time"
I was 2 rows from the front. Just the best kit smashing I've ever seen!!!!!!!!
Kurt did some great feedback...
krist actually catches it.
0:08 best solo ever
It's never gone away!! Saw Mudhoney last week in London. The BEST grunge band there ever was and still going after 20 years!!
how the hell does kurts guitar stay in tune to play the star spangled banner after all the beating!
Facts
They start playing "Rumble" The ventures version at the end of the show. That's awesome
Kurt got Hendrix and internet-guitarists say he could barely play guitar, no wonder music today sucks... anyone with a left handed guitarrist in their band will have great music, try only listening to lefty guitarists its always gonna be varying music.
15th Anniversary, today! a dvd should come out celebrating this concert
READING FESTIVAL 92

I like how Kurt looks into the camera.
This was beautiful. Love the cheering after Kris knocked the bass drum over with the cymbal.

basically, Kurt interpreted Rosanne's version of the national anthem on his strat.
Noise at it's finest
..What he plays here is the Star Spangled Banner, what he plays on The PRiest They Call Him is Silent Night.
@soundofmusic94

off course this is the best version of star spangled banner
...hey! ..the noise, Kurt make in 3:01 is the same like on the beginning from "Live! Tonight! Sold Out!!" DVD before they go on stage!!
This was on my first birthday lulz.
The stage crew work seems kind of uncoordinated, but they seem to be having fun playing around with the bands instruments...
RUMBLE AS AFTER SHOW MUSIC. 5:43
i dont know what kurt is doing with his guitar but it's fucking awesome!
awesome
@SnakeChannel12 no its in england
they could probably start rapping and the crowd would still love it
@fern244 i dont think kurt thought he was in a grunge band
i would have hated leaving that concert.. after listening to all that and being so close.
walking out and the lights coming on would just kill it.
Was this a common thing for them to do at their shows? Just make random noises until people started leaving?
Yes
the beginning was pretty funny to watch :D
Only Cobain and Hendrix....
Lol at Krist playing the drums, he's actually not bad. Haha
He starts playing Link Wray when the sound cuts out.
Krist is so funny on the drums!! lool

Lokks like hey were just having fun to me.
Isn't this the show when Dave destroyed the drum kit because he wanted Geffen to get him a new one?
I would have oved to have been there.
Any idea where the guitar, or what is left of it, resides?
Is it odd I find this relaxing?
Nirvana - hard core!

If you watch it you can clearly hear it. DUH!

@fern244 It's not grunge, it's MUSIC! Kurt hated labels.
