Did I hear the Doc say it’s not easy to write a check? After her sis said it’s not easy to take care of mom? Damn…. girl get off your high horse.

$1000.00 per month for a fulltime live-in caregiver is a drop in a bucket. Here's the math. $1000.00 divided by 30 days = $33.33 per day. $33.33 per day divided by 24 hours = $1.39 per hour.

Yes, but, she has free room and board, place to live for free, bills paid, food etc.. That should all be included as income..

I took care of my parents the last two years of their lives , they both had dementia and let me tell you is was the most stressful two years of my life but i would do it all over again if needed. I had three sisters at the time , two are deceased now but they wouldn't help me at all. I gave up everything to care for my parents and i had to live off their SS benefits. I lost my job, they repo'ed my car and after my parents passed in 2010, my family abandoned me . Just so happened that the grocery store is just across the street and within walking distance otherwise i have no clue how i would have survived.. I still never hear from any of my family but i am doing great now without them..

The world is upside down. You get paid for taking care of your own mother. Unbelievable. She should not give her a dime. She is supposed to do it too.

She is her mother's full-time carer. Therefore, she can't get a job to earn money. How do you suggest that she pays her bills!!?? Her share of the rent, food, phone, petrol, and car maintenance, to name a few basics. I suspect your next complaint will be that she shouldn't be living with her mother and 'using' her too! Sheeeeeeeesh.

@@charmaintrout174 you're right. She has bills to pay. But she could work in another place and find another carer.

@cheikhsarr5176 Unfortunately, carers are expensive as it is specialised work. I have the feeling that the plaintiff would probably have to look for minimum wage jobs that would barely cover her bills, if she's lucky. The defendant will have to pay the carer, and it will cost a lot more than $1000 p/m!! And, now mum will lose time with a daughter she loves. Not to mention that the plaintiff is now working, for little money and caring for her mother the 15 hrs a day that the paid carer is not there. And ... she's being paid less than the carer! How is that better for anyone?

Why JK is coming down so hard on the defendant? Both daughters are doing their part in caring their mother, fianance are very important, cause if the defendant didn't pay her mom's mortage, utilities, taxes, food, etc.....mom & Plaintiff would be on the street!
