People might be interested to know that Horslips member Jim Lockhart recorded the flute solo (in his '1973 style') heard in this clip at a Dublin studio in 2022 and we added it to the film for use in the 'More Than We Can Chew' 33CD/2DVD+book box set (still available from Madfish Records). There was a problem with either the mic or the live mix during the broadcast and the flute solo wasn't audible. It was the only bit of new recording done for the box set. This concert was mastered by Eroc for the box set, at my suggestion, given various issues with the original film sound, issues that Eroc is especially good at resolving/masking (I was the curator of the set); the rest of the set's audio and video was mastered by Cormac O'Kane.

I should add that there was no budget for video enhancing - just audio mastering (different priorities - extra miles were gone in other directions with the budget) - so well done, Bruno, on that aspect.

Nice! Thank you for the this curio, Colin. When I was "messing" with the audio I noticed that when the flute sound comes in, the quality and volume is different and there is a slight discrepancy in relation to the entire mix. What I did to the audio was apply a custom EQ and I also used Demix with I.A. because while the drums were heard magnificently, the rest of the instrumentation seemed distant and low to me, with the I.A. I was able to remedy this a little bit by raising the rest of the instruments by 4dB (I just didn't use it on the flute solo). Eroc is a good engineer, but I believe he still doesn't use A.I. tools. for corrections that are impossible to do with traditional methods.
      Cheers!
