    So what does ONE Candella equal to in measurement length?

    • @Lumencraft-
      @Lumencraft-  6 лет назад +7

      The formula to convert CD to distance is CD x 4 then the square root of that number (the check mark button on a calculator). Example 170,000 cd x 4= 680,000 Square root= 824 meters beam distance.

      @@thereturningshadow Yes, but it is not linear which is why we have to use the formula.
      1 candela is about 6' 6".
      2 candela is about 9' 4".
      3 candela is about 11' 5".
      4 candela is about 13' 1".
      5 candela is about 14' 7".
      6 candela is about 16' 0".

    Matt
    I have your 70.2 boosted and de-domed for about two years now. It is an absolutely an awesome light. It’s my go-to flashlight. I have a large collection of high end lights with the most throw or most Lumen, but for real word usability the Convoy L6 modded is superior when combining size, run time, beam pattern and brightness attributes. Well done Matt! By the way, I confronted two individuals who most likely were in route to rob me. I ILT THEM UP! When you take away one of an adversary’s primary senses, they are at your mercy and tend to retreat to reassess their actions.

    this is the most complete and detailed Convoy L6 modification video i have found to date,it is the most concise and precise L6 video on internet, I duplicated this build with the exception of i used the silver/clear L6 host and biggest difference being i used the "30mm FET 30mm FET Driver - 2S Momentary - Convoy L6" from mountain electronics good for 14 amps at the tailcap vs the modified FX30 used here getting 7 amps, finished up with the smooth reflector, Artic silver under the copper MCPCB, minor tweaking on the centering ring De-Domed XHP70.2-P2-1A 6500k emitter, monster 99% oxygen free copper audio cable for leads, tailcap and driver spring bypasses , stock AR lens, powered by 2 Efest INR 26650 HIGH DRAIN 18a/45a lithium cells charged up nicely to 4.35v each , and i dont own any light meters but it is "insanity at its finest" worried things gonna catch fire ;-) or go nuclear in my hand, the spot in the beam is on a new level of brightness i have not experienced until now and i am tickled pink, it gets hot pretty quick on turbo needless to say but i think it punched a hole through space and time i may be wrong but a UFO came to investigate, was an airplane crash,a forest fire,FCC FAA,FBI,police and a pizza delivery boy with second degree burns all ashes now ;-) j/k but shes bright and gets hot quick thanks Matt for the great vid on this light i love it Adam

      1A will be cool white (blue tint), 3A will be fairly neutral. (Depending on what light your eyes are adjusted to). Most people prefer 3A and the output loss is hard to notice, even side by side.
      Dedoming gives more throw and a more focused hotspot.

    • @hullinstruments
      @hullinstruments 4 года назад +1

      My mistake it appears it’s around $70 on Banggood at the moment, I’m looking to buy myself and my dad both good throwers for Christmas. Definitely don’t have to be the same model. Matter of fact he’s old-school and needs something extremely simple… So I’ll probably go with a C8 mod for him. And maybe one of these for myself. My little 1000 lumin headlamp is the brightest light he’s ever seen… he’s literally speechless every time I turn it on high…
      So if I could get him a good thrower it would just blow his mind and he would use it every day!!!!
      I’m not a flashlight addict per se… But I do have an electronics lab… where I spend half my time doing component level circuitboard repairs on industrial electronics and test equipment.
      And I enjoy flashlights. I’ve ran my $25 “Nebo rebel” headlamp SIX DAYS A WEEK EIGHT HOUS PER DAY FOR THE PAST 2.5 YEARS!!!!!
      THATS what got me into dissecting and modding flashlights. I just couldn’t believe such a light could exist… And even though I have $1000 worth of high end task lighting around my electronics lab… once you have a comfortable headlamp and get used to utilizing it all day every day… You can never go back.
      I use it on the low setting and it’s still bright enough for me and I can see what I’m doing even when working with ridiculously small SMD stuff. The only time I take it off is when using my stereo microscope that has a built-in light source…
      Sorry to ramble. But I trust your opinion and I’ve watched all of your videos 10 times over the last few years. Would really love to see more modding and DIY videos from you. And would love your input. Happy holidays!!!

      Hi, if you have the original convoy L6 it came with XHP70 installed. If you would like to upgrade to XHP70.2 you can do so without changing the driver. If your light does not have XHP70 in it but rather XPL HI or similar it is probly not an L6, but and L2. If your light is L2 changing the driver would be required.

    Finally I have this L6. Modding this? Ok, I understand that no light output is enough, but this is already very strong.
    I can't imagine how ridiculous can be an Acebeam X70 or an Imalent MS12. Especially, if they were have proper mirrors, not just those tiny jokes around the LEDs.

    Mine will be arriving soon. What are the 26650 batteries recommended for this flashlight? I heard some are complaining about the alleged rattle on the battery tube. Thanks.
