I agree, great contrast between the versions of the song, thanks for posting your reaction Champ! Way cool! Really like where this band is going...wish I'd been able to catch them at Otakon last month. Keep up the great work, catch you on GG! Much respect! 🤘
Rolling Quartz had a lot of help from Dreamcatcher Company for the cover. Its a homage to Dreamcatcher with many references sprinkled across the length of the song.
If you haven't listened to the rest of the album that they dropped, you're missing. The "Delight" mv is very good. Also really loved the song "Azalea."
@@kolor999 The entire album is good but Azalea is the best. I am so glad they included atleast one ballad on the album. It shows the versatility of the band.
I'm so glad that you checked this out!! And btw, they also put out an official MV for one of their pre-debut tracks, "Delight"!! So there's another thing to check out.
So glad you checked this out. The suggestions others have made are great. They are still so early in their career... I hope they keep gaining momentum.
I like this band, excellent musicianship and vocals making good rock music. Drummer is major league cute, lead guitar always smiling, and the bass and 2nd guitar have that death stare. Everything is there for success internationally.
And today they dropped the MV of Azalea which so many folks are talking about. Already a great song, but reading the translated lyric captions makes the song even better. They definitely are progressing.
Happy! Very happy to see ya checkin out some more Rolling Quartz once again! Band with a lot of potential as you said! They do a lot of covers but also have original content. Love how you have heard/seen the original song and can pick up the changes made in this cover! Great reaction mate!
I appreciate your coming back to Rolling Quartz, I really like this band. They are simply fun. Their live streams on UTube you have to see, great energy. The band members connect well with the audience and each other. Thanks for turning me on to them. There a song they do called "Azalea" unfortunately there no video I believe it's sung in Spanish Jayoug the vocalist does an outstand job and great lead and riffs. There are no credits to the song so I don't think it's a cover. It has a bit of a Guns and Roses and I think Lynyrd Skynrd vibe. Anyway you might want to hear it. It's hard to find so I will leave a link. ruclips.net/video/xyuqsCcfOlE/видео.html
Azalea _is_ a cover; the original was by Maya and released in 2003 (and it's in Korean). Apparently the lyrics are from a poem by Kim So-wol. They've covered it at least once before, in one of Rolling Star TV's "Queens of the Night" shows: ruclips.net/video/v9lPhGhE4Zs/видео.html
@@Brickerbrack Thanks for clarifying it say's unknown composer on video so I was totally confused and thanks for the link had no idea these girls have done this live now they need to do a proper video for this song this song a banger
I voted for the song but people wouldn't vote. I've listened to the album and it's good for a debut. I bought it because duh. And they also let out a video for their song Delight.
Another fun MV is them collab'ing with AleXa on the rock version of the latter's "Xtra". There's an MV and a "self bootleg" from their online concert. Hopefully, that will lead into you checking out AleXa. After checking out AleXa's 2019 debut "Bomb", you might be interested in the rock version she did of that song, with a S. Korean metal band called Diablo. Alex is American so trust that she understands metal, rock, and punk a bit better than most idols.
Had to check out your Blaze reaction to see what the downvotes were about. Honestly, I don’t know why either lol. Maybe because your audience likes kpop one side and rock on the other and RQ is a happy medium that they don’t agree on? That’s probably why they’re not doing well on your polls too. Maybe it’s ARMY coming after you about the “no offense” comment or maybe the Power Ranger comment. Who knows, kpop stans can be unpredictable
That is more a homage than really a covers so yeah, it's more like a song that they made their own version and their own new arrangements as if it was a Rolling Quartz song, they explain it more in the description of this MV. also here some facts, first Dreamcatcher company worked closely with Rolling Quartz and gave them even green light, secondly, the song was supported and cheer on Instagram story by Siyeon, Sua and Jiu, lastly fun fact Rolling Quartz drummer Youngeun was/is Handong drums teacher and Jayoung and Youngeun are huge Somnia and Dreamcatcher and Rolling Quartz has at least meet one time.
The set was actually one used by DC for one of their Odd Eye dance videos, and possibly also for Deja Vu. The director of the Good Night MV is the boss of the guy who directed _this_ MV, and the two spoke about it a lot. But the video isn't a direct copy, by any means. This video has the girls trying to awaken their sixth sense through the use of their original five, and where Dreamcatcher each represents a kind of _nightmare,_ here each of the girls represents one of the senses. You might actually want to fully listen to the other version of Good Night that you started; it's similar, of course, but the final produced version is different in several ways, some that I like better, and some I don't. Ultimately, I'm not sure whether I like either better; because RQ did enough to make it distinctly their own for me. 🙂 Also, yeah, they've also dropped the first original song from the EP, _Delight,_ which is also the first song they ever wrote together..! 🥰
It's all the same chords being played, just with real raw guitars bass and drums not over done backing production just raw and simple ,and the DREAMCATCHER girls loved it and re tweet and instagramed it plus the DRUMMER is in fact DREAMCATCHER MEMBER HANDONG'S drum teacher. By the way this is not a cover it's an omage from all DREAMCATCHER videos of the NIGHTMARE SERIES ...
It is a little sad they're not more widely known given how underappreciated k-rock is (especially domestically), but I love how they're always so genuinely happy when they're performing! They just seem like a group of friends that came together to hang out and play a few songs, even their social media somewhat matches that vibe. Hope they'll end up breaking through sooner or later, thanks for showing them love!
Having the single vocal line vs the harmonies and ad-libs gives it a bit of a different sound. Instruments also seem a little more forward in the mix. Like it a lot.
I have only 2 sorta-complaints with RQ atm... 1. Really wish they had more new songs.. Was actually a bit disappointed when they revealed the album track list cause I was expecting more after the long wait and it had 5 songs we've already heard (1 being a cover) and they made it sound like a full album of new music was coming out (pretty sure a few songs were cut cause they didn't feel like they were polished enough and thats fair, so it's at least quality over quantity) .. And 2. Not really a complaint but Iree might need a new guitar lol, Hyunjung got a new one and her sound quality increased... If she's just attached to it for any reason that's understandable but I feel like she's being held back by old gear (if the wear and tear on it is any indication)but that's non-issue really... Hate to sound like the greedy entitled fan, but I feel like something is holding them back and since they debuted in 2020 they've had 2 releases and one of them was a cover... Not gonna stop me from following them cause they're talented and full of potential and I want to see them succeed.
they havent properly released those other songs and therefore didnt earn any money off of their music so far besides the blaze retail release. So its good to get those tracks on an actual album and release it properly to bring this stuff to market. and because of covid there were no chances to play live or hit any festivals. i am pretty sure they were struggeling financially after their debut. they are not part of the big kpop companies/industry, they pretty much have to earn the money for every next move. but i love that they were finally able to release this album as a full on kpop retail release, including photocards and all that collectable stuff that people like and that brings in the retail sales. i get your point though and i also want more new music from them. and now that every older release is out there, they have no choice but to bring something new for the next one. 😉✌️
@@mintomacco while I agree with you, that's not exactly what I meant... I'm glad those were released and I expected them to but they also made it sound like more unheard original songs were going to be on the album... And like I said I'm aware songs were cut for the album but it's still a tiny bit disappointing...especially when I've watched every concert and already heard all these songs multiple times... Still I'm excited for the future. I mean no disrespect to RQ or other fans by any of this cause even though I say it out of disappointment I also say it out of concern cause I want them to be able to succeed.
Screw the polls! A lot of my favorites wouldn’t win any polls. This band has potential but I’m watching as a Band Maid fan so the bar is probably too high. See you in Philly!
The video is cool for this but the audio on the live stage version that they released previously is more preferable to me because it's more guitar forward and the drums hit harder.
If you want some brand new Korean rock inspired music, you should check out (G)I-DLE's latest comeback, "Tomboy". 80's hard rock inspired guitar riffs, pop-punk verses, callouts to AC/DC and Nirvana, biting hardcore lyrics, along with Soyeon's rapping. What more could you ask for? Plus, that is not the only rock influenced song on their new album. For instance, "Liar" reminds me a bit of early 2000's nu-metal. No surprise that the song was written and produced by Yuki, confirming that she's the rocker of the group. The whole album comes across like a big middle-finger to the K-Pop industry after the way they were treated last year.
Excellent reaction! Always enjoy watching your reactions.

Idk why people would downvote you or show any hate towards these artists

You need to check out their cover of Maneskin "Zitti E Buoni". The hot version.
Hell yeah! That cover is so awesome and Champ won't be distracted comparing it to one of his favorite groups original songs.

Don't you mean SuA's part? She did the rapper part not Dami.
trueeee a rarity in dc songs
I like the idea of Rolling Quartz, but I think the way the songs are mixed just falls a little flat for me.
