As a native Houstonian, I'm pleased that it is NOW indoors. In my late teens early 20's these were languishing in the blazing Houston heat. They were displayed the same way but, with railroad ballast underneath. People would throw rocks into the engine bells. I was so irritated!
Been to this place many times when I was young. My grandfather worked at Mission Control on the Apollo missions and he used to take me and my dad. I have not been in many years, maybe I need to go back and make some videos for my youtube channel.
Well thank you for showing us that. The Saturn 5 is a beast of a machine. Even with all the Space innovation going on right now, this Rocket just blows me away. I hope someday i can get over there to see it. Until then, this is the next best thing....much Respect and peace to you.
Its crazy that those engines were shooting blazing hot gases out of them faster than the speed of sound a couple decades ago, only to be some dormant now, its really amazing. :)
Very nice. It was a time when we actually went places. I hardly remember the Moon landing. But Apollo 8 going into orbit on Christmas Eve was incredible.
Yes. In fact the Apollo rocket used to live outside and the harsh coastal air began to erode it quite severely. They built the massive building around the rocket itself to help protect it from the elements.
I pass this every time I go to Dunkin’ Donuts because I live on the NASA street and I’ve been inside dozens of times and it’s so scary to me because I have megalophobia 😭😭
There’s something slightly terrifying to me about seeing massive vehicles up close: rockets, massive ships, jets. I don’t know why exactly but being so close to it, especially seeing the parts you normally can’t see the the part of the ship that’s under water, just makes me uneasy.
How did the second stage stay on target and all?? Did the engine move and steer it?? Anybody know?? Probably a dumb question.. but it couldn't use air right?
Jesus Gameplays Y Tutoriales this is actual hardware that wasn’t flown. In fact, it’s the only Saturn V still around today that features all flight certified hardware. 😀
why does the united states keep every thing outside.. like this and tanks from prior wars... only other countries actually take care of their museum peices
Awesome video! Super cool to see this way!
The Courtney Project thanks so much!!
The Mighty Saturn V. Nuff said.

Mindboggling they managed to pull that off in the 60's! It's actually phenomenal every single person to walk on the moon, made it home safely.
Truly an amazing piece of engineering
I was lucky enough to see this in person
this machine for me its the perfect NO 1 huge respect to american engineers and werhner von braun
I feel like crawling into those Rocketdyne F-1 engines! They're so huge!
Dark Knight42 agreed!!
Make sure they're off first, or you'll soon be a whiff of ozone and carbon monoxide.
And toasty... 😊
A bit too toasty.. 😎
Ainda irei em Houston conhecer a Saturno V linda demais
Amazing, thanks!! The sense of scale is mind blowing.

Also, the space and Rocket center in Huntsville Alabama was a place we went to a lot when I was a kid, i wanna go back there too.
Thanks for sharing Charlie.
Done a fewrounds on this clip, some of the detail pans are just tops too.
Much appreciated thank you. Cheers
Hey cool thanks for watching! I’m here at Kennedy Space Center this weekend so I’m hoping to do one of these out here. 😃

Dam Mad it is quite a spectacle to see and stand next to. It’s unreal how big it is. Thanks for watching!
@@DeepSkyDude Thank you for your reply my friend...peace.

God, what a beautiful piece of machinery!
JACOB PALMER agreed. Rocket science is just amazing.
Hi, is this the one that was used on the Apollo 11 mission?
No. That rocket flew so it’s no longer with us. Only the Hershey Kiss shaped crew module came back.
Very nice. It was a time when we actually went places. I hardly remember the Moon landing. But Apollo 8 going into orbit on Christmas Eve was incredible.
Hopefully we get back out there soon!
@@DeepSkyDude 2024!
Very interesting video. Thank you very much for this!
Anton thanks for watching!
On my bucket list to visit one of these displays ....
The Saturn V- often imitated, never equaled........yet.
The starship is bigger today
@@clara6509 it's the future...
@@lk1047 no starship ls here
@@clara6509 yeah, but u know what I mean
Very walk through! Thanks for sharing!
Victor Boesen thanks for watching!
Humans are just incredible!!! So much more than any other living thing. Look what we do!!!! Blows my mind how humans work together to do this stuff!!!
John Adams it’s a sight to behold for sure!!
Fantastic 👍
I am so amazed
Are these stored outside all year round? They would rust to nothing if in the uk
Yes. In fact the Apollo rocket used to live outside and the harsh coastal air began to erode it quite severely. They built the massive building around the rocket itself to help protect it from the elements.
Built 60ya and is still state-of-the-art design, unreal
so impressive that time until today..
Amazing!
FANTASTIC times...

I have megalophobia...I need to visit this place.
They should really have those early rockets and engines under cover too. That’s where it began
I pass this every time I go to Dunkin’ Donuts because I live on the NASA street and I’ve been inside dozens of times and it’s so scary to me because I have megalophobia 😭😭
Don’t worry, I have Megalophobia but big things don’t scare me, and that Saturn V is my rocket
I have been there and saw the Saturn v rocket and even did a 360 photo when I was there.
insane

John Adams the engine can move or gimbal.
i have megalophobia, and this is one of my favorite triggers.. i would probably faint if this was upright..
I stood near a SpaceX and a Boeing rocket. It’s pretty crazy!!
Is that real size?
Jesus Gameplays Y Tutoriales this is actual hardware that wasn’t flown. In fact, it’s the only Saturn V still around today that features all flight certified hardware. 😀
They should've had a lunar module in the display of the rocket
When we had it altogether !
Is this the real saturn v? That would be absolutely awesome
Yep!! It is. In fact it’s the only Saturn V that’s composed of flight certified hardware.
And where is lunar lander?
Jesus Gameplays Y Tutoriales there’s a lunar lander mock up in the visitors center.
Song name?
Its called Amongst Others by Rooibos.
Thank you very much indeed from Ukraine!
Aleks Sason no problem!! And thanks for watching!!
Stay safe
You should have captioned the launch escape tower at 3:16. Many people don’t know about it.
kfc should use f1 rocketdyne engines for cooking
I don’t get it.
@@DeepSkyDude the rockets burn at over 5000 degrees and a chicken only needs 150
Creepy music... Hahaha
But a great video. Congrats!
Ricardo Pavez haha thanks. To me the song evokes more wonder than creepiness but I can kind see how it may be a bit creepy. 😂
Hey nasa can u just use this again the SLS is taking too long and doesn't look as cool
