DO NOT LET THIS MAN TRY TO POISEN YOUR MIND. ETH has not implemented a STYLE OF PLAY. You cannot simply SAY we have one and then when you watch the team and can't tell what we play.
ETH brought a Goal Keeper that is practically a Midfielder that can't make saves.
One of the worst signings so far in the Prem has been ANTONY! (NOT EVEN CLOSE TO THE PRICE TAG)
He has NOT been able to set up the team to NOT lose in the final minutes of the game.
ETH has been here for 2-3 seasons and SAM Literally says here at : 4:09 - "There haven't really been any improvements"
THEN WHY KEEP A MAN THAT ISN'T IMPROVING ANYTHING???????? GET UNITED A MANAGER THAT IS QUALIFIED.
Sam is just doing all this to keep a man in a position he should have NEVER BEEN IN because HE DOESN'T WANT TO BE WRONG and see us start over. FLICK OR TUCHEL.

We have all seen what Erik Ten Hag is capable of with players fit to play and we all remember the game against Tottenham. How unlucky can you get with your squad, well this season is a testament to that. But I trust that with the right structure behind him he will get the job done. It took Sir Alex 6 years before winning anything and we are there right now when it comes to ETH. He had to start over from scratch and with this window we are capable of making a lot of sells and buys to get the right profiles in. Dont forget that the transfere windows to now have been with the Glazer family and not the Ineos. Trust the project and the process and we will get there. If any of you thought we could win PL with to days squad you are crazy. No give him one more year and lets back him and the team we love dearly. He needs it, the squad needs it, the new players that are coming in and the club needs us to be behind them. Name one manager that would do better with the players he had this season. This takes time and if we dont get a top four spot next season then he can leave knowing he did his best, but just imagine two-three seasons from now having all the signings he and Ineos wants plus all the youth players getting there chance?❤❤

We have regressed since last season as a result and him switching the style of play. I think the true testament to his time here will be next season with the proper structure in play. EtH needs to be given the opportunity under the new management and with a fully fit squad. This interview didn't change my opinion, only strengthened it. Which of the current top 3 or even 4 teams have had an almost entire defensive unit out through injuries in any or either of the past 2 seasons? How can anyone who claim to have even an iota of footballing sense and knowledge keep saying oh you have to adapt? How can you expect a nondefensive player to effectively take on the role of a defender? This is my opinion of someone who doesn't have more than an entry level knowledge tbh. In any business you wouldn't expect an unskilled person to undertake the role of a skilled person - their knowledge, expertise and skill base is completely different. Every one has a role to play in a team - you can't expect everyone to do everything, and that too at the expected level, what's the point of the concept of a team? E.g. an architect cannot be expected take on the role of a structural engineer who can't be expected to undertake role of a services engineer. Each discipline is specific. Together they collaborate to design a building. As a team, with each defined role. Same can be said of strikers, wingers, midfielders, central defenders and right or left wing defenders. Each has a role to perform, contribute to the wider team. You can have a team vision, but each person has their specific task to facilitate the implementation of that vision.
Am done with seeing comments and hearing people consistently criticising and dismissing EtH repeating the same comments over and over. 🙄

Patience and realism are the only 2 things that will help one keep their sanity in this period. Nobody's ever had the structure above them that's finally being built. I think he's earned at least the chance at having a go with it. At least for next season. We'll take it from there.

There's been an attitude within successive United dressing rooms that when things aren't going well, that they can absolve themselves of any responsibility by throwing the manager under the bus. Ten Hag has worked hard to assert his authority with this current squad and shift that mindset. However, without the demonstrated support and backing of higher management at the club, all of that hard work will count for nothing. He isn't done yet. He clearly has a vision, and he clearly has the courage to take the hits in the short term for a greater good in the long term. I'm with Sam. I believe. I have faith, and I truly believe that in years to come we will enjoy success and look back in disbelief at how Eric Ten Hag almost got the sack.
    Keep The Faith ✊

One of the issues I had with Ole was that he never stopped being an Interim. He stuck too much to the safe approach of counterattacking football and when he finally tried to be more expansive it completely imploded. I respect the fact that ETH has the bravery to persist with this kamikaze style. I don't think much wiĺ change though next season especially if some of the coaching stuff is not improved upon. It's not just players who are lacking, the set piece coach and strikers coach need questioning as well

I agree with you, let’s gamble and give ten hag one more season, coz anew manager will set us back 2-3 more seasons of rebuilding. Arsenal took a gamble on arteta after a terrible season, and it paid off. I think he has learned a lot from the mistakes he made this season and I know he is itching to make it right with the right players and proper management from the board next season

Great video Sam. I'm torn on Ten Hag's future. I like him and he seems intelligent. But I was really troubled by the logical inconsistencies in his interview. He made two points that are completely opposed. 1. You change the style of play based on the players (question was why did you say you can't implement the Ajax style here, answer was 'because we don't have the right players. 2. You keep the style of play regardless of the players (question1 - why not play more defensive if you have injuries, answer - 'because we have a style of play and swapping it would bring problems - we play this way and the players fit in'. question 2 - does the director of football bring a style of play, answer 'we already have a style of play - you see it in the under 18s and it is like AJax'. These seem like polar opposites to me and really troubles me - which is it? It matters because I don't know what he stands for as a manager and what next season would be like. I don't know what Wilcox's style of play will be. Once that is declared, then we'll know if Ten Hag is the right fit or not, but he also needs to be consistent in applying that style.

I think it's easy to forget that ETH has not gotten his first choice signings in the key positions. I think out of all his signings, only Licha, Onana and possibly Anthony are his first choice. Licha was great last year and can be very good. Onana hasn't been alright but our defense does not get into positions to capitalise on his strengths.
Our team would honestly play very differently if we had De Jong and Kane. Trust the manager and expect more from the recruitment team. The club isn't going to progress until any manager is given the platform and the best resources.
Imagine wanting Mbappe and getting Kolo Muani instead. That's what has been happening.

  • @botbot9372

I kinda agree with ETH that we should stick to the style of play, the problem is we are not completely doing it, our defensive line is not high enough and we have a high press, leaving too much space between the lines.
Also the problem of cutbacks was never fixed and has been a problem the whole year...
I feel like I wanna keep him one more year, but these are huge red flags for me

Don't forget Ten Hag has to defend his players, the ones we want out the door are also under his protection. He has done brilliant with this and not throwing them under, we are having to play with lesser players and to keep them motivated also. I'm fine with him staying, but lets not also forget this team we have isn't winning PLs/CLs we need INEOS to be able to bring in the right players

Dont forget that our performance in ETH first year can be divided in one good/one bad, the first half of the season we were great, the 2nd half we were very uneven, bad u can say. ETH success was more down to Rashford and the stability from the backfour. The offensive style was too bad because it was more about individual moments and brilliance from Rashford. Martinez, Varane, Shaw and Casemiro and Eriksen were outstanding also. Then injuries came on Eriksen, and the performance dropped. And then Rashford struggled a lot because of Eriksens absence.
