As someone from Europe, these stores look huuuuge and it’s crazy that you have so many stores in your area! The concept of half price books is really cool as well!
chan i go to UT and I KID YOU NOT as soon as i saw you pick up Icebreaker off the shelf i paused the video and sprinted over to the north lamar hpb to pick it up. thanks for leaving it for me to go get! that store is my absolute favorite and i always end up finding great books there.
You didn't notice Mistakes Were Made (sapphic) at the first bookstore! I've heard great things about that one, though I haven't read it. (the turquoise spin at 4:49)
Ahhh I love seeing Austin bookstores in videos! N Lamar, S Lamar, Southpark Meadows are prob the HPBs I like the most here. We have some great indie bookstores, too, that could make a cool next video if you decide to make this a series. Great video! 😄
ik you didn't go to that one but did not realize there was a half price books in round rock and now i'm annoyed bc i was just at the outlets last week lmao. where i live only has an outlet 🙃 the ones you went to are so much bigger and better looking! this was a really fun vid 💖
I just got home from a bookstore trip and this was such perfect timing lol. I loved the combination of the vlog portion and then the haul at the end! and of course would absolutely love to see more book shopping ❤
Ok actually the holiday trap is soooo goood! a lovely The Holiday retelling so it definitely falls into your holiday romance category, I too picked it up on a whim and I truly loved it! Hope you enjoy!
I read another Jenny Baylis - 12 dates of Christmas- two years ago. Very cute, closed door tho. Haven’t read that Roan Parish but did enjoy another from them!!
Liked this video a lot! As someone who loves bookstores but goes back and forth on book buying it’s fun to hear other peoples preferences and thought processes when buying books
Added so many of these to my TBR🥰 I wish we had something like this in the UK! The kitties in the bg doing the butt wiggles and zombies made me so happy lmao🥹!!
Wished we had stores like this in NM!!! Your bookshoping vlog was great! Whoever you watched to help you get a feel for it, you did great! An excellent romance you may like is Scarred by Emily McIntire and Fake it till you Bake it by Jamie Wesley! Also, Astrid Parker Doesn't Fail was better than Delilah Green Doesn't Care, if you are willing to give it a try, and the third companion is set to be released later this year!
Good to know about the North Lamar half priced books! My bf lives near the south Lamar one, so I go there all the time, but looks like I’ll have to convince him to cross the river ;)
Oooh The Idea of You is SO GOOD! I picked it up on a whim thinking I'd have a silly ridiculous time and ended up sobbing! The chemistry between the two MCs is off the charts 🔥, but I also really liked the plot and what the author had to say about fame. Later I found out she's an actress herself, so she knows what she's talking about. I'm curious to see what you'll think 👀
I wish there was one closer to me. These stores remind me of my favorite bookstore in Tennessee McKays There aren't that many good used bookstores near me 🙄
I feel like you'd really enjoy Icebreaker! It's very steamy and it's a very healthy relationship where they learn how to communicate with each other throughout so any miscommunication is quickly resolved. It was a lot of fun, my only big critique is that it could have been cut down a little bit, just I still loved it
@@rebeccaridgway1117 I visit 3 locations mostly! The 1604 & Bandera location, the 410 and San Pedro location and the Broadway location!! Any of those I tend to have pretty good luck with!!
@@BooksAtMidnight Do you have a favorite location? 410 & San Pedro or 1604 & Bandera tend to be the locations I purchase from the most but I also love Broadway.
Paybacks a Witch is soooooo good! Lana is sooooooo nice! She just dropped the 3rd book in the series and I'm so excited to read it!!! Why am I yelling? Lol
No spoilers but I liked A Princess for Christmas by Jenny Holiday better than A Duke for Christmas. You might want to check that one out, even if you end up liking A Duke for Christmas. I will wait until the video reviewing A Duke to share my thoughts in the comments.
I have to listen to your videos at .75 speed otherwise I have an anxiety attack. If anyone else is bothered by the speed of her words trus me with that tip.

I've never been to Austin, but I'm always interested in seeing what every city has to offer in terms of bookstores!

She’s back!!
I really enjoyed Duke Actually! I hope you like it when you read it this holiday season 💕💕
I wish we had stores like this in the U.K. - I’ve never seen such a big book shop before 😮
Ahhh I love seeing Austin bookstores in videos! N Lamar, S Lamar, Southpark Meadows are prob the HPBs I like the most here. We have some great indie bookstores, too, that could make a cool next video if you decide to make this a series. Great video! 😄
Loved this one!! It made me so happy to see I am not the only one that will just sits right down on the floor to search through the books!!
Would love to see a video like this with indie bookstores in Austin!

i used to live in Austin and frequented all these locations weekly. Thanks for uploading!
I think this is a great vlog. I like how you always rate or give us something to take away from the vlog
Ok actually the holiday trap is soooo goood! a lovely The Holiday retelling so it definitely falls into your holiday romance category, I too picked it up on a whim and I truly loved it! Hope you enjoy!
I didn't know you lived in Austin! I would be incredibly interested in a BookPeople video. They are my favorite bookstore here.
i'm austin-adjacent! bookpeople is far from me haha
I read another Jenny Baylis - 12 dates of Christmas- two years ago. Very cute, closed door tho. Haven’t read that Roan Parish but did enjoy another from them!!
Yes! The North Lamar is the one I go to. It’s the closest to me but I recommend Nervous Charlie’s for some awesome bagels instead of KFC
Liked this video a lot! As someone who loves bookstores but goes back and forth on book buying it’s fun to hear other peoples preferences and thought processes when buying books
Really loved Once Upon a December this Christmas!! Such a wholesome romance and beautiful world building.
I LOVE Half Price Books! There's only one within an hour of me, but my sister and I both love that place

I love how it's all things romance!!!
the way this made me miss austin and hpb so much! 😭💔 if you ever go to dallas, visit their hpb- it’s the largest location and it’s incredible!
Good to know about the North Lamar half priced books! My bf lives near the south Lamar one, so I go there all the time, but looks like I’ll have to convince him to cross the river ;)
We don’t have Half Price Books in Utah so every time I’m in Austin for work, I check these stores out! ❤❤
the cat jump at 20:15 tho 😂
I liked The Pact. The second book was REALLY good! I’m on the third.
Am I the only one who got distracted by the cats?? I am watching them at the back instead of paying attention to the book.🤣🤣
You are so fortunate to have so many stores near you. I won't even bore you with how few and far between ANY bookstores at all. Sigh.
Something about Merry is the second book in the trilogy. All Christmas books!
Scoring wilder is the best RS book - it’s what made me pick up Kulti!
You should try black Pearl books and other locally owned bookstores in austin! I believe black Pearl has a secondhand book section.
I'm so jealous! The closest HPB to me is 3.5 hours away :(
These videos are so nice, your my favorite book tuber I really enjoy every video :] your appreciated
I really liked this video! Id definitely watch more of these
I love scoring wilder. It gives Kulti vibes

i'm excited for it! and even more excited now that i know my queen Anne Hathaway is going to be Solene in the movie adaptation!
@@chandlerainsley yeeees, I'm so excited for the movie too! Anne was a perfect choice imo
me watching this planning to go to this shop knowing full well I live in England 😩🫠🫶

Is the on off Mopac still open? The one that was by frys. That one sucked
I really enjoy this video!!
Misfit seems interesting to buy and I already have The mixtape

I should also say that their sports play a big part in the book and their dynamic
i've read it :)
I've read a few Sarah Adams books because I really loved _When in Rome_
It's the small town, Luke x Lorelai romance I've been looking for
Your user name is EVERYTHING
@@SarahDeesJournee Thank you! ^_^
Ok come to SA so we can go HPB hopping together 🙋🏽♀️ and The Secret Society of Irregular Witches (you put back) was so good. Perfect fall read
yessss i need to some to SA soon!!
This video inspired me to go to HPB when visiting SA in April! Which location is the best?!

I wish I had a half priced near me, good lord 😭😭😭
omg, you're in Austin? I'm in Dallas and downtown there is a HUGE AND MAGICAL HPB that I would give my life savings to if I could LMAO
ooo i'm going to be in dallas a few times this spring, i'm definitely going to have to check that out!
No spoilers but I liked A Princess for Christmas by Jenny Holiday better than A Duke for Christmas. You might want to check that one out, even if you end up liking A Duke for Christmas. I will wait until the video reviewing A Duke to share my thoughts in the comments.
Oh really? I personally liked the Duke one more 😂 I also recently read the new one (the third part) and it was fun as well!
@@olala6573 I will check the third one out but I found the romance underwhelming in Duke, unfortunately. I'm glad you enjoyed it though!
Missing the vlogs and cookie tastings
ah i'm sorry! most ppl didn't enjoy/watch those so i don't make them as often. i save that for patreon at this point
I have to listen to your videos at .75 speed otherwise I have an anxiety attack. If anyone else is bothered by the speed of her words trus me with that tip.
But why didn’t you support and go to any of the amazing indie bookstores all over Austin?!?!
i might do that in the future! but indies are much more cost prohibitive and i enjoy hunting for books
The Icebreaker has some amazing smut scenes ngl. But the story and plot… hm i dont think they are good? Its a bit overhyped for me.
Ma’am, I’d love to know what leggings you’re wearing in this video because (respectfully) 🍑 sending love from San Antonio!
they're the flares from aerie :)
