I appreciate you putting it back together also because most people don't even do that you wouldn't step by step putting it back together most people just expect you to remember everything and if you're just the first timer it's kind of hard to remember where you had stuff or took stuff so I appreciate this video I'm fixing to do it myself and I'm a female
Thank-you. 2006 Pathfinder was ready for new light assemblies and your guidance helped me get it accomplished, especially the dang 'hidden' bumper bolts LOL. Those square headed grill pegs sure are a bugger.
I just wanted to come back by and say thanks again! I got my headlight assemblies changed out this evening and it went really smooth because of you. I also found that I was missing plastic push rivets because someone had been there before me. 🙂 @@GrimRepair
The only thing I did different was I used a flex head ratcheting wrench to get the bolts going into the bumper out and it made those bolts way easier. I only had to remove the front screws to the wheel well cover that way.
Thank you, I found your video very helpful. Especially for explaining the bumper to fender bolts and also the weird clips holding the grill and reassembling them.
Thanks for the video. That said? They don't have to make it this tough. They do it so people take it into the shop and make money. There can't be any other reason for this stupidity
I idid this today... and found your video... learned that I did need to drop the bumper... slightly intimidating, but I was done in under an hour... Your video helped me find all of the nuts, clips, etc... Gets a bit harder to keep my 2006 XE looking good as it piles on the years... but this replacement helped.... also just rattlecanning the A-Pilars around the windshield where the paint was no longer adhering and using Back To Black on the exterior plastics....... Anyway, she's not looking so worn out now! Thanks!
Nice write up man. If the aftermarket headlights are like the oem on adjusting beam height, you can use a Phillips screwdriver to make adjustments. I know I used to do the same thing, I see a head of a bolt and grab a socket or open wrench. Never knew those silver teeth are for a Phillips screwdriver
Thanks for making this video. The first time I changed my '06 Frontier headlights it was 5 ys old and took an entire Saturday as I pried on pieces trying to figure it out, and I remember removing the entire bumper. This time it took 1.5 hs with this video. btw, Nissan must not be paying electronic and plastic parts engineers what Toyota does. Replaced window motors and switches many times, tranny computer 90k mi, (must drop tranny), gas tank dropped for gauge 45k m., all spark coils around 90k mi, etc, etc, too many electrical parts to remember. Oddly no mechanical or drivetrain complaints after 168,000 mi, dragging a trailer much of the time.
😂😂😂😅 hey grim repair, remember me?? I found myself replacing my headlights on my 05 Pathfinder, the one I worked on with my dad, and your video came up first when I searched up the replacement on RUclips. Keep up the good work brother!!
A doe "helped" me loosen up things this morning. Now my bumper and grill is broken (so easy to remove grill when all the clips are sheared off), the mounts are pretty twisted, and the left headlight is smashed and pushed in. Got the replacement light on order. I'll have to see how badly the mount is bent when it gets here in 4 days. The bumper mounting bracket, I may have to get an estimate for. The hood has a baseball sized dimple in the front where the doe's head hit. The hood is deformed...it is right at the front and covered by the lip plate. The hood will need replacing. The doe was thrown 30 feet and barrel rolled 10 times before jumping up and running away...probably still has a headache. To all you deer out there: cross at the crosswalks and deer crossing signs, and always look both ways...and wear your reflective vests at night.
After i read the first sentance, i was thinking what kind of tool is a doe? That sucks, glad the doe is ok.Hopfully she tells all her friends how to better cross the road.
Excellent video. I need to replace the headlight assembly on my 06 Pathfinder. Would have been nice to see the finished product demo'd in the dark to see what the output would look like. A for effort.
15 minutes a side. Be a gorilla when dealing with the upper bumper shroud so you have enough room to work to get those 2 10mm bolts out. Don't be frustrated if a bolt breaks off on older trucks. Good job!
You should have done a video of the Passenger side because I have real troubles with that side it's not as easy as the driver side so easy to work with.
@@GrimRepair its understandable with the lighting but for a first time like me the passenger side was the hardest to work with and is there like a trick to it. Driver side got it done like under 5 minutes. Passenger side 2 hours.
Hello. Not a nissan or automotive related question. But I've just watched your videos on treadmill IFT drives and it was unbelievably helpful so thank you very much. I would like to ask you if there are miniature components burnt out on the bottom board is that repairable or does the board need replacing? Thank you.
Thanks. Everything could be replaced as long as your able to find a replacement. You may not be able to purchase some of the microchips from your local electronics store.
Now I see why Japan and China have 8-10 year olds building things. They are the only ones with hands and arms small enough to get in those tight places
What a pain in the arse to change a simple headlight. I love the reliability and efficiency of modern cars, but HATE doing any kind of work on them. They are assembled like a puzzle, but one that only comes apart and goes together if done in perfect sequence. Ridiculous
I just ordered those headlight assemblies for my 2008 Nissan Frontier. Are your headlights doing OK, some people have been complaining about moisture getting in the the passenger side assembly.
Shit I need to do the headlight on my 2005 frontier that's a decent amount of work to change a headlight . I heard you had to mess with the bumper now I know lol.
The title says housing. You should be able to just reach it and twist it out to change just the bulb. Didn't know a video was needed for that, thanks for the idea.
