You can only blame the poor design of that intersection. It is incomplete and there is poor illumination on it. You probably dont understand what I mean, but I suggest you drive there. The arrows are not in the right places and the lane markings are inadequate, I was driving there in the day and I was making a right turn just like these 2 cars. There was only supposed to be 1 lane that turned right, however because of the poor lanes markings, it could be mistaken for two lanes. Yeah, I agree. The white Toyota seemed to be reacting reasonably. The camcar was clearly not maintaining a safe stopping distance, and in my opinion not reading the road properly. Inspiron is a consumer range product - avoid for your purposes Vostro is entry level business Latitude 14" 7000 series is what I'd recommend - check the Dell Outlet for refurbs under $1000. XPS13 is more of a 'prosumer' laptop, missing some business features such as the longer warranty, being supplier with the Home version of windows instead of Pro, no docking port or built in ethernet/displayport etc but you can grab a refurb'd one from Kogan/DSE also for $1000. In terms of specs and performance, both will have an i5 or i7, 8GB+ ram, SSD, under 1.4kg and battery that lasts all day so not a concern and on par with other ultrabooks and business laptops. Make sure to get an i5 with at least the FHD (1920x1080) screen. In terms of build quality I'd say the XPS and Latitude 7000 are very close, similar keyboard feel and very little chassis flex - from memory I believe the Latitude 7000 is MIL-STD graded meaning it's designed with durability in mind; also easier to upgrade ram/ssd/wifi later on.
@I_360_No_scoped_JFK I used a little bit of social engineering when I applied for mine as it was after the offer ended. Jump on chat, explain nicely that your previous chat dropped out and that you were offered a $10 a month credit for your account due to porting in. Be really nice, lots of please and thank you's. They will put you on hold and speak to their manager, and in my case were more than happy to apply the credit for me. If it fails you can just drop off and try again, just remember to be sugar sweet when speaking to them and they will want to help you out. If you are a jerk and demand it, odds are they will look for a reason to not help you out. If challenged just explain you didn't get a reference number and when you were in the store they had offered it to you, and your previous chat were happy to apply it but it dropped off prior to applying it. You could even go down the route of saying it was applied but you just wanted to confirm it was active, this will also put them in a position of wanting to help.
I'm surprised people use the whole merge lane in America people stop like 100 meters back and wait for traffic to clear. A lot of people think if you use the whole merge lane, in particular in heavy traffic, that you're an asshole.
@@markbollinger1343 Well the whole idea of having a long merge lane like that is for the cars to pick up speed before merging, in particular for the small cars with not much power. But slowing down in a merge lane when there's not much traffic is defiantly a bad idea. Should just use whatever length given to pick up the speed, once the speed is up, merge whenever just safely I'd say
What's more, when someone blocks the box. I don't know about Australia, but in Ontario Canada, you can get a ticket for entering an intersection without space on the opposite side.
Technically the person with the dashcam was in the wrong since in this situation they have right of way, since it is a marked merge. He should not have stopped and disrupted traffic. The person in the Corolla had terrible judgement and missed the huge opportunity they had to merge - but after they realised they fucked up they did stop as they should have to give way to the person with the dashcam and any other people.
True, drivers merging 20 under what everyone else is doing drivers me nuts. But, really the non-merging lane should maintain speed so as to not cause confusion. Doesn't always work because drivers will just sit next to like they expect you to move, that drives me nuts too. Can't have it either way.
No, but the road isn't wide enough for two marked lanes. Even if the van hadn't moved over, the following car was going to hit its rear three-quarter or side-swipe it. Following car did not leave a safe distance.
Can't you see the car in front of the van stopped suddenly and he was braking and turning to avoid a collision? Cam owner travelling too fast to stop at that following distance. Definitely at fault

You guys really do have some great videos from around Australia. It would be great if you could put the state and suburb somewhere on the screen too. 👍
The only time I 'enjoy' driving these days is between 1am and 3am on Sunday to Wednesday mornings - otherwise there's still too many other people on the road. Nothing like being wedged in by a rolling blockade doing 30km/hr under the speed limit on a 3 lane highway by the only other 3 cars on the road.
7:00 car drifts off the road to the right, almost hits parked cars, then turns on turn signal to merge back onto the road. Lol! At least he was polite!
Thank you, was thinking the same thing, and they would've submitted the videos thinking they were in the right. If you're in a merge lane you have to give way
That's what I thought at first, but perhaps the speed limit WAS 80km/h, and the semis were speeding? Nevertheless, it was up to the merger to give way.
What are you on about? The car merging had given way to the first truck and was clearly ahead of the second. Just because the stupid truck driver was tailgating doesnt make the 2 of them one long road train
WTF are you on about? The merging car appears to be still in the merging lane, and doesn't have "right of way" just because it's "ahead" of the second truck.
Yeah there seems to be less sociopaths and the occasional psychopath bent on murder and mayhem.Sometimes the bruised ego syndrome is a wonder to behold in some of those N. American videos.
0:50 As if the cops just let those two cars go without punishment. Were clearly driving on the wrong side of the road and the cops just drove straight past them.
Not enough money in that infringement, plus you could talk you way out if it in court. Speeding fines on the other hand are much more lucrative income, open and shut cases. Reason at least NSW police can afford serious BMW, XC 90 Volvos and even Mercedes as a patrol cars, all $100 thousand cars. Bussines is doing well, I guess.
That first one is still absolutely terrifying to me. I am very familiar with that on-ramp and that stretch of the Hume Highway - in fact I'll be driving it tomorrow - and there is no way any person with their eyes open and a single functioning brain cell would think that what he did is in any way what needs to happen. There are signs everywhere giving you directions for if you want to go back towards Canberra or if you want to continue to Sydney. It's two lanes in each direction with a large separation in the middle and each direction is 110km/h speed limit (most folks do closer to 120km/h). I hope DCA reported the person who sent it to the police so that that person can be removed from our roads permanently. I don't care what his excuse was.
@@lemster101 A bit hard to anticipate a car stopping randomly in the street. Obviously his fault, but if you look at the clip, there was no reason for the car in front to stop.
They are saving petrol by road training, at night you will get up to 30 trucks at a time, nose to tail, driving between cities. If you are not going to do the speed limit then move out of the way and let them go, they are working to a strict schedule.

@@kjsandri7204 Where did you get your licence? First of all, it’s not merging. The truck changed lane. And in any case, one should only change lane if there’s no car coming. Both the truck driver and the bumping car are at fault. The white car has no fault at all.
I also noticed a few occasions of people not making way for oncoming traffic (by switching to the next lane which was completely empty) and then blaming the oncoming traffic.

Yeah, I agree. The white Toyota seemed to be reacting reasonably. The camcar was clearly not maintaining a safe stopping distance, and in my opinion not reading the road properly. IMO there was enough time to see the truck drifting, anticipate the white car would suddenly slow or stop, and react accordingly, which I didn't see evidence of in the video.
plus the Toyota had its signal all indicating something would change.
Jarsky no it seems that it’s the Woolworths truck at fault. But still the dashcam car should have slammed the breaks

Inspiron is a consumer range product - avoid for your purposes
Vostro is entry level business
Latitude 14" 7000 series is what I'd recommend - check the Dell Outlet for refurbs under $1000.
