Studio Visit: Ron Morelli

- Ron Morelli's impact in contemporary dance music started with his NYC based record label L.I.E.S in 2010. Known for its unapologetically punk attitude towards dance music, while being well informed by early underground electronic music, it's no wonder why L.I.E.S has been a mainstay in the world of electronic music for so long. Now more than a decade later, we find Morelli, now based in Paris, putting out the labels 200th release with his very own LP "Heart Stopper". Graciously, he invited us into his studio space where he spent the last 4 years putting this project together, breaking down the direction of the label, his music, and what inspired the inception of the album "Heart Stopper".

top dude! thanks for a video
sweet alan vega poster. good friend of mine peter who managed maxs in the early 80s , he ended up recording the first two suicide songs for a zine he was putting out at the time. they would later become the first two songs on the self titled ep. anyways, he told me some cool stories. that day, alan had just pawned all his equipment forgetting he had promised peter some recordings, so they spent the day hustling enough money to go grab a 4track , think he said it was like 35 dollars. then had to borrwo the rest of the gear, then eventually recorded the songs in peters basement. anyways, rip alan, rip peter, love and mad respect to you good sirs , hope als well
