Despite her friends treating her terribly she put up with it because she wanted what they had and to be better then them. Constantly trying to keep the appearance and living beyond her means. Trying to marry rich and be richer then the other women. Lusted after Jaejun but also any man with money and power despite how they treated her. Yet she looked down on others and would throw anyone under the bus for her benefit.
I can feel sorry for Hye-Jeong in a way because she was clearly shallow and needed a reality check and she did what she felt like she had to do back then to survive against a group of fraudulent friends who would've victimized her had they not found another loser to terrorize but after high school there was nothing keeping her from not continuing a friendship with these people except for the fact that she wanted to continue to enjoy the perks of being associated with them so she can play fake rich girl instead of owning her working class identity but at the end of the day she's still no better than the rest of the group she may be the lesser evil but she was still invloved in the terrorizing of other girls in school that led to a lot of lives being destroyed.
That's how real life is. There's no right or wrong, it's often a grey area that's hard to judge. It depends on how people see it or how they want to see it. But I wonder what was the bully thinking when the straightener was burning the victim's skin. How did she not throw up at the sight of it? How did she not feel guilty for ruining someone like that? I feel like most of the bully characters had a touch of human in them, something that made them look like human, but the main bully(the girl) didn't seem anything like human. She had be mentally ill, psychotic to do something like that without any remorse.
These villains played their roles so good that I hated them back then. I had forgotten that they are actors. They did their jobs so damn well. Hats off!!
I unironically love this show. And was hooked with every episode. If I had one wish its to forget the story of this show, so I could watch it again, just to experience every scene for the first time a second time. And then wish to forget it again so I could watch it for the first time a third time
