    Welcome to another video! In this one we're going to be reading the entirety of Sarah J Maas's A Court of Thorns and Roses (ACOTAR) series. I had SO MUCH FUN with this. I do have a lot of critiques for the series--a lot of positives and a lot of negatives, but for the most part with this one I just wanted to switch off my brain and enjoy the story, which I did. I hope you all enjoy this mess of a vlog (I think there was... five hours of raw footage? Why do I keep making these videos longer and more complicated??) 💛

    This video was SO VERY LONG. I had to cut out so much--my opinion on Feyre painting that cabin, the fact that I picture Amren looking like Donna Tartt, etc. It was a chaotic and complex and incredibly fun video to make so I hope you all enjoy it! 💛💛 P.S. THERE ARE SPOILERS IN THIS VIDEO! AND IN THE COMMENTS! WATCH AT YOUR PERIL!

      Omg yes we obviously all hate Tamlin but he had such a trauma complex with the protecting and they never ever talked about it

      @@filonarafinja They were both traumatized and there was a better way to end that relationship, maybe with both of them realizing that they were too messed up in their own ways to help each other heal, let alone be together because they were hurting and they weren’t aligned in any way, so they had to let each other go. What SJM did instead will never be okay IMO.

    THANK YOU. 14:45 where you point out sarah j maas' characterization intentions is spot on to my opinions. I don't think she planned to take rhysand that direction, and I also don't think she alluded to tamlin being abusive at all in book one either. It seems like there was no foreshadowing at all. I think its a case of "oh book one sold really well, I should write more in this world". Loved watching you read all of these!!

    I totally buy into the crackpot theory that Rhys and Tamlin are exes. Feyre and Rhys both like "Oh my god you dated that guy? *I* dated that guy! Hes the worst!" But all ridiculousness aside I am fiending for the next book in this series but now I have to read Crescent City because they're crossing over! But that world is more technologically advanced and I like that.

    • @lamichelita85
      @lamichelita85 5 месяцев назад

      I also think this! And I think that's why Tamlin's father was so mad at their "friendship" to try to kill Rhyssand, and why Rhys couldn't kill Tamlin at the time.

    This series got me through the WORST bout of illness in 2020 (I suspect it was Covid, but it was in February and we didn’t really know anything about it at that time) and it and series like it have become comfort reads for me alongside my favorite mysteries. It was my first foray into romantasy, and how I learned that really enjoy this type of story. 11:17 Lol. I don’t have any fan art or merch or anything, but I’m a die hard fan. I’m glad you didn’t hate them, and that they were there for you when you couldn’t read your normal fare.😊😊
    I’ve reread them several times, but this year, especially, when my father-in-law died and I absolutely could not read anything for a couple of months, this is what I went to. ACOTAR and From Blood and Ash (which I ABSOLUTELY do not recommend to you😂) got me through one of the worst times in my life. I love these characters so much. They’re certainly not the best written and have flaws, but I read them for the characters. I’m invested in the stories, yes, but it’s the characters that I go back for.
