Hey Peaches! What did you think of Kahhori? And in case you were wondering why we kept looking down and to the left, it's because our camera was right in the middle of captions, so we had to read the computer screen. Didn't take away from this beautiful episode.
After watching this episode, I'm already in love with Kahhori.
I almost spat my mouthwash out mid rinse laughing quietly to myself at the Daredevil driving bit. So good.
Kahhori is cool, and hope she becomes a thing in the comics, not sure how to make ehr ballaced with all the other heros and villians out there, but I am sure they can figure it out.
I love her. I need an ongoing book. More shows. I need her in the movies. America Chavez needs to go find her and bring her in, immeedjuhtlee.
If Echo can get a series Kahhori NEEDS a series and a movie
Kahhori has become an instant fan favourite, a new, fully originial NATIVE AMERICAN Superhero. A lot of people - myself included want to see more of her, maybe even live action.
And Marvel just dropped all 5 episodes of Echo.
Made slightly awkward by the voice actor being a different character in Echo but I'm sure they can work that out. But yes, more Kahhori, in whatever form they can.
Such a smart idea to use what if to do this because we’ve all Ben thinking how it could effect out heroes we know but of course it could create an entirely new hero it makes so much sense
I do love seeing the characters that get powered up by the infinity stones' energy. Wanda, Pietro, and Vision getting their various powers either boosted or entirely from the Mind Stone, and now Kahhori getting different kinetic and portal powers from the Space Stone. I hope we see more heroes from other universes that get power sets from the other stones. Someone with powers from the reality stone would probably wind up immediately seeing the watcher.
I would LOVE to see more of her in the future!
What if.... Matt Murdock got his drivers' license? needs to be a Season 3 episode.
i dunno about a whole episode, but it could be a disney short that they tack on before the main show 😄
Holy crap, I haven’t laughed this much in a while. Jay forgetting why Daredevil should not drive was brilliant.

This was an incredible introduction of an original character, I need to see her in live action.
The Native Media Theory Channel did a nice breakdown of the native language images and their meanings. They did this one right.
They took six years to work on this and collaborated with native ppl for this

Not only was it a great introduction to a character most of us have never heard of and another fantastic addition to this series, I also love how 90% of the episode was in either Mohawk or Spanish proving once again that people can cope with subtitles. I gather the Mohawk community are absolutely thrilled to have their own with Kahhori, Atahraks and Wahta all voiced by genuine Mohawk actors. You're doing it right, Marvel.
She was actually made for the show, completely new character
4:36 The movie they are referring to is titled Prey(on Hulu). It is a prequel to the Predator franchise, and is arguably the sleeper hit of 2022.

This episode was so awesome, I loved getting all the Native backstory and their view from what happened with the Spanish. Really hope she comes back and DEFINITELY better get a comic run in some capacity. Would buy those in a heartbeat
It was great, although it's not really accurate. The Mohawks never interacted with the spaniards. They were located mostly in the New York area, and the spaniards didn't come even close to there. Just the name "New York" is a clear sign that those were territories invaded by englishmen. Spaniards went mostly towards the west coast, that's where you find spanish names (Nevada, San Francisco, Los Angeles...)
@@javiherbou87 With the tesseract lake, and the spaniards of the time famously looking for a fountain of youth, it would explain why they were so far from where they landed in our history. They'd just be chasing the rumours.

@javiherbou87 you mean New Amsterdam? The English bought it from the Dutch. It's why some of the boroughs have names like Staten Eylandt (original spelling) named after the States General, the governing body of the Netherlands, The Bronx, named after Jonas Bronck a settler in the Dutch colony (though he himself may have been Danish or Swedish, historical records are unclear), and Brooklyn after Breukelen a village in the Netherlands.
The Spanish had a head start on colonizing the new world and at least one Conquistador, Ponce de Leon, searched for the Fountain of Youth. If there was enough of a rumor they'd have no problem laying claim to an area in the New York area in pursuit of that, drawing them outside of their historically settled areas. That is why the show is called "What if?" Things don't play out as they did in our universe OR in the main MCU.
That you don't know who settled New Amsterdam, that the interactions were initially friendly (not so much "invaders" as visitors who traded for land and were content to coexist for a time) and don't understand the concept of the show leaves you a poor commentator on the accuracy of the episode.
@@darkamora5123 still, this episode doesn't depict "the Native backstory and what happened with the Spanish" which was my main point. This was just fiction, not based in facts even remotely. I definitely forgot about the dutch period. My bad!
Best What If episode hands down. No gimmicky callbacks or fancy character callouts. Just a fun, refreshing, and stunningly blue epic for a deserving heroine. The worst part was Doctor Strange which is wild

Kahhori is officially the first and strongest Avenger
This is one of the best episodes of the season and such a good origin story

Matt Murdoch is a really good lawyer which in turn would most likely make him a really bad driver.
I really hope Marvel finds a way to tell more stories about Kahhori and her badass gang of immortal indigenous Americans. What a cool character! This is the kind of feel good story I have been wanting to see.

it was a good episode second best.. but I loved the movie prey, one of my favorites in a long time. one of my best friends indigenous he's like he's holding his breath if they're gonna make the character into live action

Man, was not expecting this to be the best episode... but it is.
I admit this was an interesting episode. I loved the fact they did it all in the Mohawk langue as well as Spanish. Kahoori powers were pretty cool as was she without making an already established hero look bad. So yeah I thought they handled her introduction pretty well
I read that this was an Earth where the Americas weren't conquered by Europeans and the title comes that and Kahhori is a completely new character to the MCU.

Despite Devery Jacobs' role in "Echo", I still hope she gets to return as Kahhori someday in live-action.
What I loved about this episode how there's little to no English dubbing. Gives it a real period-piece feeling, just what the Comanche dub did for "Prey".
Matt Murdock shouldn't/couldn't drive because he can't see the traffic lights nor can he see the pedestrian lights either.
He could sense the lights turning on and off

Strange was left to watch over Killmonger and Zola in their pocket universe, he wasn’t the heavy in that ending.

I really enjoyed this episode as well as seeing you two react to it. Kahhori is such a great new addition to the MCU, and I hope we see her again in the future.
Oh so in regards to daredevil driving… and the honking…😂😂😂 what if it was the car alarm when he stole a car. Like he can drive, but only when he steals a car cause the car alarm echolocates for him
You've become my favorite reaction channel because you watch the shows without an agenda except that you want to be entertained.
Fun Fact: Kahhori was created because there's a huge trend in indigenous characters and the MCU doesn't have any yet because almost every indigenous character is associated with the X-Men or FF, Wyatt Wingfoot, John & James Proudstar, Shaman, Talisman etc. (Echo is First Nations in the 616 but she's Hispanic in the MCU). Kahorri's power set is taken directly from the characters Nazari & MjNari, (even the names are similar) Storm & Black Panther's son and godson respectively because those characters can never exist in the MCU since Storm and BP can never get married now. Kahhori is now essentially the First Nations version of Storm, I like it, as a member of the Nakota/Sioux Nation myself it nice to see more First Nations representation.

This episode really brought back the magic of phases 1 and 2 for me. That excitement of meeting a new hero, getting to see their origin story, and getting hyped for how their character would tie into the larger narrative. I hope we get to see more of Kahhori, she was awesome

The only problem I have with this episode is the fact they put the spanish as antagonists while it would have made much more sense if they were french or better british. Her encounter with captain Carter later on would have been way more interesting and profound but I guess they wanted them to be bbfs immediately.
The “fountain of youth” angles makes sense to have the Spanish involved. This would be about 100 years before the other European powers arrived.
I like how the first four were good, then it got to Episode 5 and they went: "What If We Just Did Bangers From Here On Out?"
She is the best thing happen to marvel in a long time. Love her so much already ❤

Great character, great episode and I really liked the acknowledgement at the end about native American nation helping with the language to give it authenticity.

I truly loved this episode! My only small issue, was that it is all subtitled. That took away a little bit of the beauty of the action by rewinding to read what they said. Please don't hate me for this, I love that they used native Mohawk & Spanish, but The Watcher could have aid something like "I'm sorry, let me turn on my translator to make this easier for you"
What If...? can do what live action can not. HOLY COW!!!

This should have been a movie. It was truly excellent. Marvel had another hit on their hands with this character. Hope she gets some spotlight in Live Action!
Honestly, it’s just the screen for me. When consuming media like RUclips or Netflix, the brightness just isn’t there which muddies anything even slightly skewing towards a dark scene. I think a bright beautiful screen would even help the lack of pro motion because the crispness and contrast would help make the lower frame count less jarring. I wouldn’t want to sacrifice the battery for pro-motion unless they really are able to work some magic. If that was it I would be happy enough!
BUT. If I dreamed a little bigger, an M-series iPad Mini that I could plug into a monitor and have a big screen experience whenever I traveled with something that I could fit in my sling bag? Now that’s enticing!
This would have been a good one to make into a movie.
There wasn't weed in North America back then, the Conquistadores were the ones that introduced it, the original plant is called Mexican Skunk, arguably the best and most psychoactive strain of weed, it's about the only good that came from them, that's when natives created the "peace pipe" since pot is most potent when inhaled into the lungs. In exchange the Spanish got tobacco, fair trade I think, hahaha. Prior to European invasions Indigenous tribes in Eastern North America used a psychedelic plant called ayahuasca and drank it like a tea or used peyote, a cactus plant that was used for "spirit walking" and speaking to the dead, Homer Simpson tried some once.
I loved Kahhori and this episode. Such a fun concept and great original character. Also as a blind person no Daredevil should not drive even with super powers. As soon as I clicked on this my first thought was you know what Kahhori translates to? Dtuntin on em. So when you made that joke I was like I knew it!
What If Marvel wasn't creatively bankrupt and we just got _the greatest new superhero we've had in years?!_

The only thing that bothers me about this episode is the portrayal of Spanish Conquistadors ridiculously far north so Disney could avoid vilifying English settlers that American culture lionizes.
I mean I get it in-universe, it’s in theory set very early 1500s before England and France have gotten in on the game (based on Queen Isabella, though this is strange as in real history Ferdinand outlived her so she never ruled alone like portrayed), and the Conquistadors ventured north in this universe because the divergence point created a thing they were looking for. I get it.
But those are writing choices you can’t convince me weren’t made to avoid the conflict being with English speaking settlers.
This episode was incredible, if Marvel was going to make a movie. I'd make it about the mystery of the disappearance of the colony of Roanoke.
