Hi, can you do a video about overcoming the Focusing / Centering issue please? Your vids are brilliantly composed and would value your thoughts on methods to overcome such issues.
It is in the guide for the camera alignment I believe. I made this video quite awhile ago but I think it’s the same. There was a link in the guide during the process
I don't have a PG draftboard and they are all out. Can I use a uncertified material with the size of 12 x 19.2 with a thickness of .16 to do the calibration.
So has glowforge updated this Test. I ran it today and it didn’t give me the option to set focus and score crosshairs. It ran through first portion where it printed and measured pattern then said calibration complete
You can use a similar thickness of material with masking tape on top and use draftboard settings from the list, results could vary. Or simply purchase a sheet from glowforges site.
Very useful video. I didn't know there was a camera calibrate option. That's my task for tomorrow.
I have had my GF for just over 2 years, and have never calibrated it. I had no idea this was available. Guess I have this to do!

I'll see what I can do
@@FreshStartCustoms Thank you immensely! :-)
I could cut the wings off a mosquito with mine now. I'm very impressed.
For sure. I'm so glad they fixed this.
Hi Josh, Where do you find the Precision Perfect Test shape?

What are all the small dots on your material inside??
Glowforge’s logo
I can make it all the way to the select printer part but it won’t show a list or a name of my printer ! How do I get past that part ? Thanks
I can’t remember off the top of my head. I never had to do this again since this video was made years ago.
Does the calibration actually write engrave or cut the wood?

So helpful. I learned a lot

I would find something close to 0.137 inches then mask the top of it. And do 12 by 20 so it fits snug in there.
@@FreshStartCustoms thanks
I can't find this article in the community - any chance you have a direct link to it? It isn't coming up in search for me
I think this is the link: community.glowforge.com/t/camera-calibration-community-discussion-thread/40730?u=wenning08

They may have, that I'm not sure. I haven't had to run this since then.
What if you don’t have a 12x20 MDF

How often do you have to do this?
Only when you move your glowforge usually
When is this necessary? I just got a GF a week ago (Jan. 2020)? Should I still do this?
If your machine isn't accurate I would do this first thing
What do you do if your images are 1/2" - 1" off ? how do you fix it?
Run the calibration again. If it's still off after that, contact glowforge support by email and they will have to troubleshoot your device.
Mine keeps saying "printer interuptted, try again" when it trys to center. I can't get past that point
Might be your wifi connection. Try restarting router and try again.
What if mine just did score marks down the center? The laser head does not appear to move.
You will probably have to rerun it or contact support
