the architecture & aesthetic of old brill made sense because it was a ruined village inhabited by ruined people. meanwhile the architecture & aesthetics of new brill seem really bent on emulating some weird tim burton shit.
Personally, I like how these songs play in many abandoned buildings, including the ones in the Syndicate-controlled sections of Stromgarde, where the conjurors dwell with their voidwalkers. I raised my rep all the way to neutral with the Syndicate and transmogged myself as one of their conjurors, so I can sort of hang out with and protect them. So I hear these songs often.
As much as i liked the updated brill after Wotlk, the old version is the best to me and this music reflects its perfectly. As the living of lordearon were ravaged by the scourging so did Brill, just like how the citizens have become rotting undead so too the buildings reflect that transformation by being half destroyed/rotted structures and houses throughout the town. Classic, bring me back home.
I remember when I was Human, run in Elwyn Forest... it was amazing... Until I got killed by the Scourge and was raised as an Undead. Then I remember running in Tirisfal Glades... it was amazing
Simple comforts for simple people. The undead, at least the smart ones, don't care about those things. We've long since realized such comforts are forever out of our grasps and have focused on more important things. It is a freedom only the cold embrace of death can truly give you.
I first heard this when I was doing the ragdoll quest in the eastern plaguelands for the little dead girl's ghost. couldn't pick a better theme to go with the quest.
Taken from WoWwiki about Forsaken..: "They have no love for orcs, tauren or any other living creature, but they need time to strike against the Scourge and allies to help them do it.--The Horde accepts the Forsaken's help, as they do indeed have a common enemy: the Scourge. --- Few good Forsaken exist, but many evil ones do, and their leadership is definitely up to nefarious ends. Most Forsaken are pretty despicable, and their motivations as a race are evil and destructive."
It calms me down more 2.Probably because we're safe, somewhere in brill, looking for new adventures and stories.I loved brill, especially because i started to play at halloween time. Still to this day, I feel like buying a subscription just to come to brill.I want to go there because I hope i could have that feeling of amazement and curiosity. Those zombies and that graveyard and the other players coming to duel for the first time.If only, if only we could travel back in time. ;(
One can hope. I miss the old SFK. Used to run it all the time, but since it changed, I have no desire anymore. The SFK theme also changed and you can only hear a bit of it now at the last boss in SM.
the first theme was used in the Zombie evening trailer movie when the two ppl talk and say in BB ''the shipment of food is here'' ''alright, it will be distributed amongs the villagers of goldshire'' (human people) next you see in goldshire with alot of people and one turning undead, rst running, then many Zombies, last standing is a human warrior and paladin side by side surrended by Zombies and then ''in the final hour, all must serve.. the one, true, KING!'' and u see the zombies jumping them
Blood Elves aren't evil. The Sunwell is reactivated, so they don't use demonic magic anymore and the Blood Knights believe in the Holy Light once again and don't capture a Naaru anymore.
Hopefully Mists will change things again and Brill will get it's old (or like the old) Gallows End Tavern again. And they must have this eerie yet extremely calming music again.
"What are we if not slaves to this torment?" - Lady Sylvanas. Is actually a comment from Sylvanas Windrunner to Arthas Menethill (in present the lich king) the Forsaken always hated him...... but once he was a friend ........ an traitor now despicable.......................
The forsaken are not exclusively ex-human, theres quite a large mix of high elf in there as well, even trolls and orcs (Although there are no game models that hint to this, you have to check through the time line.)
@Listenintostories Nice deep comment. Realising that underneath the cartoon stylings and funny headbanging dance is a tragic story. Personally I love the lore, I'm a bit geeky like that :P
@MoT359 Forsaken is all the undead from the Scourge that could break free from the Lich Kings grab. Human, High Elves, hell even Ogre's if it should be.
hmm sounds like a person entering his old home and finding pictures of his now undead family and the scourge wreaking havoc all around. It would be a great zombie movie sound ,At least for wow movie.
They don't necessarily need to bring back Brill as a whole, I kinda like the new look of it, but they need to bring back the original Gallows End Tavern. This was my usual hang out spot for RP and what not, and I absolutely hate the current "new" version of the tavern.
Okay. 2 Years later and I as well miss the old brill. Not that the new one is ugly or anything. I just grew old of the new stuff. I miss the laughing into the death as second nature aspect of the undead. And the depressing atmosphere - even though I have to admit, the old brill tavern was turned into something surprisingly cozy.
@PrimordialNightmare Since the Forsaken they were once humans, did does seem plausible. However, considering that the Forsaken are a dark, sinister race (and well, undead) I doubt that the Light would consider them worthy to uphold the ways of the paladin. Plus, the majority of them seem to care little about the Light anyway. Some though do possess some of the Light's blessings as priests; those I believe are a few of the Forsaken that cling to their former beliefs.
some of the horde have awesome tavern songs, this one for example is pretty wicked and i hate undead lol but the alliance ones bring out a more of a tavern sound to play then the horde ones do :P
Call me weird, but the Undead tavern themes calm me down more than the others. o.O Could it be because my favorite Horde race is the Undead? And, as MintedCow said, I miss the old Brill, it needs to come back. haha~
@Evision5 lol my main is an undead and i completely agree but if you are on an undead char and you type /silly the character says "i hate the smell of orcs" so not every thing smells like roses XD
Yes i understand you, they never had a true friends just a master as they say beying Sylvanas but the forsaken arent really evil i would say neutral because they never wanted war , all they wanted was theyre place to stay and to live in , they never wanted a true battle or war
The only ones in the horde i'd call evil are goblins and maybe blood elves and undead, depending on definition... Orcs, Tauren and Trolls are like the most peaceful in Azeroth... except Gnomes maybe =P
@Listenintostories Jeeze dude, thats like telling kids theres no Santa Clause on the day before christmas. And now I feel a bit depressed from readed your comment, haha
the horde arent evil neither the alliance or horde are evil, the burning legion are evil, the horde and alliance just have different point of views about everything and fight each other
@Listenintostories Are you an author? Because I'll read your books. Every single one of them. :) That was so... descriptive... It truly deserves a RUclips award.
It is very intresting a combination of mistery and darkness at the same time yes Bezhan47 it is a proud for the forsaken but remember ....... in the end they started a war and they will end it ...............................................
This music, and the Orc tavern music, is so creepy and cozy. I really want these music files as MP3 files, and I tried to download them from Wowhead, but then it stood ”Not found”, in a white window with black text. Does anybody know where I can download these music files without getting a virus on my computer, or buy them legally?
The Forsaken Undead aren't the mindless Zombies everything thinks they are! I mean You may look like an abomination but that doesn't mean you are one on the inside! Of Course some forsaken are bloodthirsty. but it doesnt mean all of them are! Some on them still have their human spirit ! The Forsaken aren't always monsters! They have amazing abilities.. That doesn't mean you're cursed if you can fight it! To be whole But in order not to think of yourself as that.. You have to believe it yourself!
@Evision5 lol my main is an undead and i completely agree but if you are on an undead char and you type /sillhc the uar says "i hate the smell of orcs" so not everyt
Reminds me of when Brill didn't look like a circus
Old Brill.. such an iconic place for me.
Darnell broke the immersion
What happened to Brill? I have not played WoW for like 14 years.
@@00Kuja00 everything.
RIP old Brill. :(
Harbinger of Hyol Used to love hanging around Brill. ._.
the architecture & aesthetic of old brill made sense because it was a ruined village inhabited by ruined people.
meanwhile the architecture & aesthetics of new brill seem really bent on emulating some weird tim burton shit.
I say those exact words all the fucking time omg
They should have kept the ruined human architecture for the immersion.
Don't compare the great Burton to this shitty forsakens.
The song isn't creepy, though. It's much better than that. It's a sorrowful song for a sorrowful race.
Our time will come.
Oh hi Nixx
Oh nice, didn't expect to find Nixxiom from 8 years ago here
OMG NIXXIOM

Yes.

miss you old brill
need this -> musicroll -> jukebox
This also plays in depressing, abandoned houses. This music becomes even more fitting when it does.
I first heard this when I was doing the ragdoll quest in the eastern plaguelands for the little dead girl's ghost. couldn't pick a better theme to go with the quest.
I am Forsaken!

Dark Lady watch over you
Victoria para Sylvanna's.
This whole song shows how mysterious the undead are.
Exactly, mysterious is the word
Brace yourselves, we're gonna hear it in game again in just 3 months!
ye
This still plays in vanilla undead houses like the manor of Morbent Fel at Raven Hill.
Embrace the shadows.
This one is bringing back old memories... Can't believe that Undercity will be gone with the next addon!

"What are we if not slaves to this torment?" - Lady Sylvanas.
I love how it drives shivers down your spine
I love this song.... especially when i need to stay alone. Thx for post it!
You can feel the misery of this music creep into your heart...
Taken from WoWwiki about Forsaken..:

when i hear it, i cant help but to imagine how the first plague "changed" the northren human realms, from tirisfal to plaguelands, really cool
best tavern music of all of them!
this music sort of reflects how the Forsaken are 'trapped' in their undead life but there is a slight accent of victory in there
I know some people might like the old one better, but I like this so much more.
It's a very mournful and peaceful song.
you can feel so much misery in these musics...
i think this song is not sad. it just filled with humility and calmness
Best listened to with a rainstorm outside.
Undead are the best and coolest race in the game thus far
Honestly, who doesn't want to be a skeleton. It's a simple un-life.
Nobody really wants to be undead before they are infected with the forsaken curse.
What joy is there in this curse?
@@ollep0lle Immortality ?
I hated the gameplay of the forsaken
It calms me down more 2.Probably because we're safe, somewhere in brill, looking for new adventures and stories.I loved brill, especially because i started to play at halloween time. This theme is epicly mellow. Even after wotlk release i travel back to Brill's inn where i first heard it, /sleep and chillax :-P
One can hope. I miss the old SFK. Used to run it all the time, but since it changed, I have no desire anymore. The SFK theme also changed and you can only hear a bit of it now at the last boss in SM.

i got goose flesh when i was listening it its soooooooo great i think
Blood Elves aren't evil. The Sunwell is reactivated, so they don't use demonic magic anymore and the Blood Knights believe in the Holy Light once again and don't capture a Naaru anymore.
i think the undeads are awsome, no trolls can despell Fear, Charm, and Sleep, Will of the Forsaken makes them a threat.
Hopefully Mists will change things again and Brill will get it's old (or like the old) Gallows End Tavern again. And they must have this eerie yet extremely calming music again.
As for me at 5:10 starts most tragic theme. It is about all of forsaken.
@MrZabaione: It's from the Taverns of Azeroth CD by D. Arkenstone.
If you put this over a regular forest map ingame it will turn into Gothic.
neither do horde neither do alliance are evil or good..
its just diffferent factions which have different beliefs and wishes
It kinda fits with the Forsaken. They are perhaps the most tradic race in all of Azeroth.
"What are we if not slaves to this torment?" - Lady Sylvanas.
Is actually a comment from Sylvanas Windrunner to Arthas Menethill (in present the lich king) the Forsaken always hated him...... but once he was a friend ........ an traitor now despicable.......................
Undeads don't love anyone, they are waiting the chance to destroy everybody else.
The forsaken are not exclusively ex-human, theres quite a large mix of high elf in there as well, even trolls and orcs (Although there are no game models that hint to this, you have to check through the time line.)

I agree about the tavern. Heck, I don't like the new looks of most places that Cata brought. I like the old look a lot better. XD
The forsaken are mainly human, and just a few elves... Remember, the forsaken come from Lordaeron... Only humans and high elves lived there...
@MoT359 Forsaken is all the undead from the Scourge that could break free from the Lich Kings grab. Human, High Elves, hell even Ogre's if it should be.
@Listenintostories Oh shit, son. That was beautiful.
hmm sounds like a person entering his old home and finding pictures of his now undead family and the scourge wreaking havoc all around. It would be a great zombie movie sound ,At least for wow movie.

Plenty. I picked undead when I was a little newbie because a friend told me to.
Wish I had ignored that and picked troll.

@BEATNN True, but most were humans. There were High elves, dwarves, trolls and whatever was in lordearon mixed in.
This sounds eerily familiar from somewhere outside of WoW, but I can't place where
+Trey McInnis hah same here mate
It reminds me of MediEvil
It has a feel of The Sims: Makin' Magic to me.

Does anyone know the song they used to play in the Brill Tavern? It sounded like a demented wind-up box or something? I really liked it. :p
@PrimordialNightmare That's what a death knight is
@Listenintostories LOL no. What it 'means' is Blizzard wanted to make a creepy song for a creepy race/area.
