Video Projection Tutorials - Blind Mapping

Blind Mapping is a Method that Ludwig Pani introduced in the 1930s. Of course then it wasn't called mapping. It's how you prepare for a mapping while the projectors are not in place.
This preparation for projection mapping uses a camera or at least an image from the site in about the same angle as the projector lens.
This is a short tutorial on blind mapping.

I still don't have a good understanding of how to get the calculations right between a AE comp pixels, the projector lens FOV, projector throw ration (which I think you just did in this video) Do you have a video which walks through it step by step? Thanks.

Hi, ich verstehe nicht ganz warum du den einen Meter herausmisst. In AE skaliert du das Bild dann auf die Breite die du brauchst. Der gedankliche Zwischenschritt fehlt mir grad... Kannst du mir weiterhelfen?

Um zu wissen, wie breit mein endgültiges Bild wird, vermesse ich "trocken" die Projektion, basierend auf den Daten des Projektors (seines Objektivs). In diesem Fall weiß ich, dass mein Projektor auf 1,47 m Entfernung ein 1 m breites Bild erzeugen wird.
Anhand der Breite (und damit auch Höhe) der später entstehenden Projektion kann ich das Bild gleich in der richtigen Größe skalieren und muss es später nicht "am lebenden Objekt" skalieren. Je mehr Arbeiten ich offline vorbereiten kann, desto effektiver das blind mapping.
Zusätzlich könnte man natürlich auch die Position des Projektors in eine virtuelle Kamera in AE umsetzen und dann sogar 3D-Objekte schon einmal blind positionieren. (hierfür: ruclips.net/video/_BvOrVEdfPQ/видео.html)

I’d use projectors that are designed for 24/7 use. Best one that has a laser or laser/led lamp that would not need lamp replacement too soon. I used Casio laser projector quite a bit for long term installations. They were ok. But I can’t recommend any special brand.
