James, looking back at this video, I can now understand your pain. Earlier this year, I lost my 10 year old German shepherd, Alex. I had him ever since he was born, which was when I was around 8. I loved him like a brother, he even showed the same love back when he protected me from snakes and even a burglar. Unlike Basil though, he never stank like a cow's backside but he was still an adventurous little prick just like Basil. RIP Basil, lest we forget
Dear Beaver, (Or James) We are all sorry for your dog passing away... he looked like the most honorable dog I have ever seen. Hey beaver I have a quote I’d like you to know: “There are no happy endings. I'm sat here with my dog and there are tears. I love him and he's soppy and he comforts me, but I am happy to know that whoever the dog, he'll have a happy life.
I lost my dog 2 years ago now; she was taken by my parents 6 months before I was born and she has been with me from the very first moment of my life. I'm now 18, I was 16 when she died and I already thought that growing up would make it easier to handle mourning. I can say it doesn't. Zoe was the best: she was calm, she didn't bark, if I had a nightmare and told her to sit on my bed she would do it and stay with me for the whole night. When she passed away I cried a lot, just 2 days before that happened I stayed with her in the garden and hugged her very very tight, already knowing what was going to happen. Zoe made my life more beautiful and funnier in many ways. The last year of her life she slowly begun not to walk, to pee and defecate on herself when eventually she couldn't stand up any more. Even though it's hard, dying put an end to her suffering. I remember the day she died I hugged her for the last time before going to school and when I came back she wasn't there any longer. I hope Basil didn't suffer too James. I understand your pain we are all with you. Stay strong and may Basil rest in peace❤
I feel you man I had a dog that died in December of 2019 and he was with me sense I was ether 3 or 4 that dog was my brother and I loved him like one there's just such a strong connection that we develop towards our dogs that we can't replace it its special every dog is special ❤
I lost my cat of most of my life September 22nd 2020. I cried the whole day, and more, and I had my friend there to comfort me even before he left my house to go get put down. He didn’t like me much as a toddler, but as I grew, I grew on him, and I always loved him, but when he loved me back I realized what it was like to have a cat. My cat was a cat who picked a single person and could move on very easily, but once he latched onto me he couldn’t let go until the time came, where he had to. I have many stories with him, many good memories. He had to be put down because he had odd breathing. His chest would go up, his stomach would go down, and it flip flopped. I knew it was time to let him go, and I’m very happy to know he is no longer suffering. Thank you for reading. He also was a very old cat, which made me know the time had come. (He was around his teens)
@Green carnotaurus unfortunately that's a part of life and we can't do anything about that, but you take a dog (mine are all saved from the street) it will make your life better in everything, trust me
Hey James... I just wanted to say that your videos, no matter the content, it always makes me smile and get me through each day... even with how sh*tty my life has turned around yesterday. Just yesterday (in Indonesia time, since I live in Indonesia), my dog, a female Corgi that was just about to be three years old, who me and my family called Brittany (nicknamed Bri), passed away just yesterday... I won't get into the details but we brought her to the vet, as she had multiple seizures and we're vomiting constantly. The vet tried to help her, but, I think all of us know that she wasn't going to make it... around the time the other members of the family came to the vet (at the time it was me and my older brother), her signs of life had faded... even if I watched your videos multiple times, I'm still lost in all of this... of course I cried, I think, between all of the members of our family, I think I cried the most... but yeah, I'm not sure why I'm even saying this to you, but I just want to vent a bit here I guess...
@@callumcooper5652 I know but my mom took her for a ride with just them 2 because she didn’t get many dogs because of my new one (in my profile pic) and my dad did something But I forgot and she was one day from the anniversary of getting her.
I'm really sorry man, family members like dogs are so hard to lose, I've had a dog and a cat that died. If you need to cry, just bawl your eyes out man, and if u need to do anything else to help, do it. It's really important that you do so, it makes the grieving a bit easier. Take care, heck, take a big break, we'll understand. Just know that we're here for ya Beaver, always. :)
I see now how Basil was different, he was a dog that didn’t try to please his owner’s, he was a dog who did things his way or truly embraced who he was rather than being like the other dogs..
God this video just... My heart... I love the fact that you made this video for him, he can live on forever in all these thousands of peoples' minds now. I'm so sorry for the loss that you had to go through, no matter how long it's been since he moved on. I just want to say I love your content, thank you so much for trying to stay this positive even in a time like this. Good luck out there m8
And here I am, bawling my eyes out. Lost my precious little Westie of 13 years a couple of years ago ... Since, we've blessed ourselves with a new Westie, but the memory of those final moments with her ... It's so tough and you try to be so strong for them because they deserve no less. Rest easy, Basil
In my 3-4 years of watching James I've never seen him like this. And its okay for him to be like this because I cried and while I'm writing this I still am. Basil was quite a dog from what I have seen and heard from James. But Beavs remember whenever he was there for u, U were there for him and u were her for all 3.12 million of us. Because u have helped me through finding out who I am as a person. I realized that liking dinosaurs isn't weird and all of u 3.12 million people helped me with that 2. So in closing he lived him best life and u were the one that gave him that best life. But remember everything happens for a reason and now he is in puppy heaven. Love yall , love u James, ❤ R.I.P Basil
I've watched him basically from the start, he has never been like this until now, he is smiling so much, he is trying to hide so much pain, I hope he knows he can let it all out
37 year old woman.... not going to lie, i bawled my eyes out watching this. Beautifully told, we laughed and (pretty much me) cried. Such a lovely example to my boys (6 and 9) to see someone they look up to show emotion and speak so fondly of his beloved pet. My youngest saw a lot of himself in naughty Basil!
I would say something sweet but there's nothing left to be said. Never forget, you have over three million people to comfort and love you. Never forget how many people truly care about you.
What amazes me is this man can find humour in loss when he is literally talking about his dog passing away he still cracked jokes what a tank idk what its like to lose a pet but it hurt as much as losing a person
I'm sad people disliked to video, here is someone sharing their special connection with their furry friend and 97 people actually went here Beaver have a dislike. I see no reason to do this especially during a time when he was no doubt at a very low place. I like this video not just because we learn more about Basil and got to hear funny stories but Beaver making it and saying we deserve to know shows he appreciates us enough to share these personal memories with us his viewers which is so special and will not be forgotten.
its a very rare occurrence on when i actually cry, but this video always seems to get me, three years have passed huh? time flies, it really does, and because time slips through your hands so easily just like that, its best to spend the time with loved ones and those you care about, hug them close and tight, as you may never know when it’ll be the last time you’ll ever be with them.

It’s sad seeing Beaver frown after he tells a good story with Basil that he has to just narrate over it. I can’t imagine losing a best friend like that. You gave him the best life you can give him. He can’t say it but he is very thankful for taking care of him.
Basil*
@@ur_sensei5187 edited it, thanks for pointing that out
A best boy. He didn’t have a lot of time in videos but he made a big impression. Take any time off you need to grieve, 16 years is a long time to get attached to something, and losing them is hard.
You can't deny the fact that Basil is A LEGEND! MAH BOY is legendary....
I'm so sad to hear this.....
I'd just like to edit this to say that I truly am sorry for your loss man, it's very hard to just let go... 16 years... he was almost as old as me, and I I cried while watching this because I just really liked basil... something about him- like you said..
Take care man

Sorry for your loss James. He sounded like an interesting and fun dog to have.
And I've never seen James this emotional. I know how that feeling is.

I’m really sorry for your loss, Beaver. I always loved whenever Basil would show up in a video or when you’d reference him. I’m gonna miss that grumpy little guy. It’s weird, since he’s been here ever since I began watching your videos. But even though he’s gone now, Basil has without a doubt become a key component in the legacy of this channel. Thanks for all the fun memories, Basil ❤️
Didn't xpect to see yu here.
Anyways R.I.P Basil.
"When we lose someone we love we must learn not to live without them, but to live with the love they leave behind." - Boss Turner. I myself have a dog and he is a good dog but your dog is a perfect example of a perfect and well trained loyal dog. Love Boss Turner

I feel you man I had a dog that died in December of 2019 and he was with me sense I was ether 3 or 4 that dog was my brother and I loved him like one there's just such a strong connection that we develop towards our dogs that we can't replace it its special every dog is special ❤

i had a dog named zoe she was the best and was a great dane i also recently lost another dog that I've had sense i was 1 year old
I lost my cat of most of my life September 22nd 2020.
My heart has joined the thousand, for our friend stopped running today.
Watership down... nice
He will always run in life and now in death
RIP

I'm really sorry man, family members like dogs are so hard to lose, I've had a dog and a cat that died. If you need to cry, just bawl your eyes out man, and if u need to do anything else to help, do it. It's really important that you do so, it makes the grieving a bit easier. Take care, heck, take a big break, we'll understand. Just know that we're here for ya Beaver, always. :)

I was in tears watching this. Anyone who's had a beloved pet & that time comes. Knows the heartbreak it brings. Rest in peace Basil.
Damn really made me shed a couple tears, seeing beaver in all these years devastated
I see now how Basil was different, he was a dog that didn’t try to please his owner’s, he was a dog who did things his way or truly embraced who he was rather than being like the other dogs..
He was an absolute legend and won’t be forgotten.

Love yall , love u James, ❤
