- Here’s a short video to show what the death rattle noise was on this 2015 Ford escape with 124,000 miles. I looked on RUclips and the Internet for a video to show this noise to verify but I cannot find one. I thought I’d put this up. Hopefully it’s helpful to you.
Thanks for watching

Ford tech here, it’s a common issue on 1.5, 1.6, and the 2.0.
Thank you 👌👍🏻
Everything is common on these engines because they're junk
🤣😂
My 1.5 with 60k just started doing this. Guessing the same issue. How much is it to fix?
@Baf630x I did this at home on a friends car so it was cheaper than a shop rate
That's a factory feature..👍
🤣😊
Have same noise. Was it really the flex plate?
Yes new flex plate took care of it 👌👍🏻
Can I drive mine with this issue until the weekend?
I don’t know how bad yours is or how long it will last till it brakes completely.
WorX4ToolZ.. Cool video.. That's a common problem isn't it?
Possibly…I did find a video where the flex plate was cracked all up but the guy went after transmission leak. Nothing about a noise. Flex plate on that one was broke so bad that the torque converter damage the front pump on the transmission because it was flopping around. This one wasn’t broke like that just the center spot weld broke or something made the flex plate move. That made noise
how much to fix that? average cost..
I’m not sure my price was cheaper than the shop for a friend
Sounds exactly like mine! The knocking noise will come and go. I thought it was a bad lifter or rod. A rod knock would make noise all the time, correct?
Right a rod knock wouldn’t come and go. It would be all the time. A lifter on the other hand can be intermittent.
@@WorX4ToolZ thanks. Was hoping it wasn't a rod.
Put a tack weld on it and keep rollin lol
😂 why they built it like that I don’t understand
Sounds like belt tensioner pulley
It was definitely the flex plate I replaced it, and the noise is gone
@@WorX4ToolZ if it was the flex plate would it do it constantly, like the whole time it is running ?
@@texasjourneyman207 watch the video again it did it then it went away, but I didn’t rev it in the video If you Rev it stayed make a noise.
