All i can say is that tommy morrison was one of the greatest punchers in the world....loosing doesn't make you a bad boxer......!!!...everyone looses once in a while!!!
the great thing about morrison was-you knew someone was going to get knocked out. either him or the other guy. he was exciting. he fought some heavy dudes! he stepped up to the plate. gotta respect him for that. also his record shows 43 knockouts. he set the pace and went for the knockout. thats what boxing fans want to see.
people say the thomas wasnt in his prime for this oh well...it took riddick bowe about a year before this 9 rounds to stop thomas...it took morrison only 1 round...and tommy as still learning at this point...thomas also won a shitload of fights in a row after this fight...so know one can say thomas was shot...tommy whooooped his ass hardcore! remember when thomas said "morrison hit alot harder then tyson"...i sure fucking do!!!
I don't think that it is entirely true that he had a glass jaw throughout his carreer. He had a problem at first like when he fought Mercer, but by the time that he met George Foreman in the ring, I would sa that his chin had gotten tougher. I say that because Foremans glancing blows could make a man dizzy and Morrison took some big shots in that fight, never went down and won the fight on a unanimous decision.
@@jaya.0069 I never saw that record listed for Morrison. Quite frankly, i doubt he had anywhere near that number of fights. He was also a football player. He was explosive and a very good offensive fighter, but is there much chance he wasn't juiced his whole pro career? Doesn't mean much when you are a cheat.
@comedicstuff Interesting matchup. I think I would side with Golota a little on this one. He was bigger and taller than Morrison and had better skills and a better chin. The best way to beat Golota was with an aggressive onslaught as was evident by Lennox, Bewster and Tyson - but that wasn't really Morrison's style. He would try to systematically break him down which would work against someone that big and strong with a real good jab. I'd pick Golota, probably by late TKO.
kuluku Thomas gave Holyfield trouble? Well you must have seen a different fight to the one I saw. Angelo Dundee said to Thomas between one of the rounds "He's (Holyfield) gonna break his fist on your jaw".
No, but if you say Pinklon wasn't washed up after losing his fifth fight in six fights, you're stretching the win more than a tad. Pinklon Thomas later on admitted his nose ate up his earnings and body. When a boxer says in his corner, " I'm through", that means he wants to retire.
Huh?You said Pink wasn't that washed up and that Tommy was more powerful than Bowe. "Thomas 8 months before faced Bowe and last 8 rounds.... that to me shows that he wasn't that washed up or that Tommy was more powerful than Bowe. " That'd be like saying Tommy Hearns is more powerful than Hagler b/c Hagler did not stop Duran while Hearns ran over him. In boxing if A is greater than B, B is greater than C= A is greater than C, doesn't work.
@comedicstuff I would probably go with Golota. Andrew was the more durable of the two and less likely to get KOed with one clean shot. Andrew looked like the next champ after the Bowe fight, but he also looked like a very stupid dirty fighter to get DQed in two fights that he was winning.
I think it's a big differece between this garbage ko and the Tyson's combination ko.I prefer the Tyson version but we're not the same. This is your choice. This choice shows your intelligency.
hey joeygonzo if you dont think tommy morrison can hit harder than riddick "stiff daddy" bowe then you need your eyes checked...tommy morrison and riddick bowe used to spar. one time riddick bowe quit after about 3 rounds because he couldnt handle morrisons body attack! if you think andrew golota gave riddick bowe a beating you dont even wanna know what morrison would have done to him when it realy counted....
Morrison could've beaten Bowe. He was faster and had just as strong a punch as Bowe. If he fought like he did against Foreman, I think Bowe would be in serious trouble.
To be blunt, prime Foreman would've annihilated just about anyone in the ring.To this day, the only person EVER to have survived prime Foreman's true wrath is Ali. Foreman lost another fight shortly after Ali but he wasn't in that fight to win it. He just wanted to prove that he could go the distance.
@SouthernSniper74 definitely golota was nothing more than a brute he proved he didn't have disicipline by getting kod right away by lennox and quitting early in the fight against iron mike and also he was ahead against bowe both time but couldn't help fighting dirty
Morrison all juiced up,,admits it himself in a doc.after seeing boxers when he saw other boxers with needle marks in their legs and were huge, found out why/how and the rest they say is history....petty.
Rick, who cares? Sure tommy could hit harder, blah blah blah. But the scoreboard shows Bowe was the undisputed champ one time. And did not get ko'd by some lowly Bentt.
LOL people said Morrison couldn't box intelligently and then he does against Foreman and then people still have shit to talk. You know why cause Foreman is a respected legend and people cant accept the fact that Morrison whos white and was in a Rocky flik schooled him. Maybe you were drunk cause Morrison while boxing still landed bombs on Foreman, in fact many bombs. Accept the facts. Funny how Moorer who beat Holyfield got KO'd by George a year later .
I think Tyson beats Morrison the Morrison had a harder punch Morrison probably was the hardest ever puncher in heavyweight history especially the left hook and had the most vicious body attack out of any heavyweight I think Morrison definitely hit harder than Tyson
He punched and walked punch and walked, he didn´t fought anything in that fight. But of course he won, but it didn´t feel right. And i can´t agree that he is an intelligent fighter. He fought stupidly against both Mercer and Bentt. Mistakes that ruined some of his potential career.
Morrison was underrated but really, he wouldn´t stand a chance against a prime Tyson. Tommy didn´t have a good chin at all. Maybee if he could have landed a lucky lefthook. Tommy lost my respect when he ran away from Foreman, sure he won on points, but he looked like a chicken, and Foreman saw more of Tommys back than front in that fight.
Nonsence! It´s a difference if you turn your back and walks away and if you don´t come forward. Both Ali and Leonard boxed, Morrison didn´t. But you have to give some credit to Morrison by beeing a chicken there. He got an oparturnity to fight for some serious money, but maybe he should had ran away from Bentt to. He really could have beaten him with that method.
Mike Tyson knocked out Frank Bruno in third round and won WBC title in 1996. In several months later he defeated Bruce Seldon in the first round and won WBA title. Do you really think that Tommy would have chance against Iron Mike in these times?
i don't know about you guys but i think pinklon thomas wasn't the same fighter after hr fought tyson man tyson really takes their souls tommy morrison was good but he was hyped just like cooney as long as white fighter is in the top ten then he can be the great white hope but tommy no match for tyson
tommy was nice, he threw nice combos and he had a killer left-hook. but he would've never beat a prime bowe. he takes too many shots and he has a glas-jaw, there is no way he could have beaten him.
Morrison looks sharp here. He was an awesome fighter. He's a reason to love boxing
pinklon wasnt the same any more after he lost against Mike tyson. But you gotta admit Thommys left hook was bad ass.
Pinklon says tommy hit him hardest than anyone he fought
Thomas was finished before he fought Tyson. It's called heroine.
All i can say is that tommy morrison was one of the greatest punchers in the world....loosing doesn't make you a bad boxer......!!!...everyone looses once in a while!!!

Pinklon Thomas says the late Tommy Morrison, otherwise known as 'The Duke', is the hardest puncher he ever faced.
If Morrison fought Mercer like this he would’ve won
He fought Mercer better than this and was ahead on score cards until he ran out of gas and got nailed.
What are you talking about? He was pounding Mercer early, but Mercer had an iron chin and Tommy didn't. Mercer was a really bad matchup for Tommy.
Man why is Pinklon even fighting at this stage????
Bad w money
Tommy was a machine.Just Deadly.
FUCK, I wouldn't have come out either....now that's called an ass kicking!
Pinklon Thomas in his prime beats Morrison, as i believe he would've beaten Tyson.
Thomas could have been great if not for his heroin addiction.
Your probably right about Morrison, but Tyson I don't know.
@@jasonkessler7321 I agree.
Did you see those body shots In your prime or not doesn't affect Tommy's ability to break your ribs
They're just broken Prime Ribs I guess
Aww hell naw! Morrison would still beat Thomas!
Thomas was hooked on drugs before he ever even stepped in a ring
Is it just me or does the ref look like he wanted to get into the fight and help Tommy with a push or two at the breaks? .. not cool
people say the thomas wasnt in his prime for this oh well...it took riddick bowe about a year before this 9 rounds to stop thomas...it took morrison only 1 round...and tommy as still learning at this point...thomas also won a shitload of fights in a row after this fight...so know one can say thomas was shot...tommy whooooped his ass hardcore! remember when thomas said "morrison hit alot harder then tyson"...i sure fucking do!!!

I agree! With a total record amateur/pro 343-24-1, 315 KO's. He was one of the best of any color!

Would love 2 c the sparring session with Bowe if its out there!
morrison and tyson are the Best boxing champions of all ages
Ali, Foreman, Lewis, Frazier, all better than Tyson.
Stop Tyson and Morrison are not even close. Joe Louis Dempsey Marciano Liston Larry Holmes Ron Lyle Jerry Quarry and prob a few more eat both them up
@@wymple09Holyfield Riddick Bowe Vit Klitschko Fury and the ones i listed all beat these two as well

Pinklon Thomas later on admitted his nose ate up his earnings and body.

LOL@ Tyson takes their souls. If you want hype Tyson is the king of that.
His legendary left hook was like an hydraulic ram.
surprised, pinklon took worse beatings and kept going. he had one of the best chins of all the 90s journeyman.
If his right hand was as good as his left hook he would have been extremely dangerous.

@Stcs94 lol pack mans punches will feel like a fly compared to morrisons punches
I know he could have beaten Lewis. If they met back in '91, Morrison probably woulda knocked him out. Or made him quit.
Morrison is wearing the Bosnian flag on his trunks!:D Funny, this was in 1991, like 11 years before that flag was adopted!:P Just kidding.
Thomas was completely shot by this point.
Carl Williams? Glassjawed retread.
The win over Ruddock did shock me.
Then Tommy got lazy and his success went up his nose.
Nose & ho's got him!
I wonder what Thomas got paid for this?
Thomas was already washed-up and coked out b4 this fight.
Pinklon...oh hell Naw!..I ain't going back out there with that bad ass white Boy...

Bentt put him down three times.
The first punched that he staggered with wasn't exactly worldly.
