I'm happy to see the process...I came to Jamaica recently and purchase mi DUTCH POT fi carry back. When Di man in the market said $5,500, I was thinking to myself, that's expensive. But seeing the process, It's worth it. BIG RESPECT to Ms. Pansi and her workers.

Yes I agree and they work in the heat without proper gears. They can get burn anytime. We should pay more because they last a life time. Brought a small one 30 years ago and it's now it looks and cooks good.

I think when the workers are rubbing off the inpouretys off the pots they should wear a mask 😷 to prevent the metal dust from getting in there nostrils and in there lungs 🫁 it will sick them they're not feeling it now but miss LOU would say is not the same day leaf go a water bottom it rotten it takes a long time to rotten so please advise them and it's true that when these men is gone and if they don't teach the younger generation the work will die out because this job it only take a dedicated individual to stick to it because it's hard so that person will have to be dedicated blessings continually

This man been making pots the old fashioned way, without precise instruments so he doesn't need to know the actual temperature that the aluminum melts. I looked it up for anyone wondering. 660 degrees Celsius.

Respect to all hard working Jamaicans. Only problem is that aluminum is hazardous to human health, especially fumes while melting, dust while grinding and polishing and cooking or storing food which causes neurological and other health issues. Go back to the Yabba pots or use stainless steel .
My suggestion is to switch to sand cast bicycle, machine, bike and car parts which are expensive since they are imported.

My concern is about toxic raw materials leach8ng into food when cooking.
They've been used for generations in the Caribbean.
@@jamaica_uncut yeah but they using scrap metals to make thrm now. I own at least 6 in many sizes. Thankfully they are many years old. I dont trust those scrap metal combinations

The big concern is that engines and transmission over their service life becomes bonded with the petroleum base lubricants that were in them. Even with the melt down those chemicals live on in the metal and can make there way into our meals. It is sad that we have exported tones of alumina rich soil yet we don't produce the precious raw material 😢. I can never look pass the evil of our leaders.
