Nice review! How would you compare it against Sonos Beam 2? I will be using it for desktop PC with optical port probably. But I am confused as I don’t know wether if Sonos Beam 2 is good choice even hooked up to a pc…
Thanks! and for the Sonos Beam 2 vs Katana 2 - I'd say it depends on what you are planning to use it for - beam is more suited for the TV. Personally I prefer Katana for desktop use as it is a little smaller and also comes with a subwoofer.
Excellent and to the point review. I also use stand desk and I have 2 questions. (1) how long is the subwoofer cable and does it work with extended cable? (2) how long is the USB cable (connecting to PC) and does it work with third-party USB cable? Thank you!
thanks! the sub cable is about 1.5m and it is fixed tulip style connector. you may be able to use extender but not too sure. the usb on the other hand is about 50cm, but you should be able to replace it with another one.
@@A2KMedia Thank you. I suspect 3rd party USB cable may work but I think I've read some comments saying that 3rd party USB cables do not work well with the first generation of Katana. That's why I have such question.
that is a huge difference! I'd look into the things you actually need, if you want the new updated features then I'd consider v2, but paying almost double may not be worth it. V1 is still a very capable unit
Does this Katara speaker system need to connect to an external sound card or it can connect directly to a PC/laptop? In order word, is there a sound card built into this Katara system?
you could use 3.5mm jack from console, usb to PC and HDMI to TV. To be honest your console is probably connected via HDMI to the TV already which can send sound there, then HDMI from TV to katana to send sound and USB or 3.5mm jack to PC. hope this helps :)
@@A2KMedia if I wanted to use my monitor speaker could I go aux from tv to pc aux in then use in listening mode that way I could have my pc audio and console audio at the same time?
@@A2KMedia still broken. If you change text in search , it does not mean that the product will magically appear on the platform. katana v2 is only available in the official store. Don't fool people with your referral links.
Now go and compare this to Edifier S350DB or S360DB which will probably make this one sound like $h*t. Most products that has "Gaming" in their name is a junk. Gaming headsets, gaming keyboards, gaming speakers and etc. Do you research before pulling on overpriced products like this one just because it has "gaming" in it's name.
way bigger, not fit for many PC setups like this is, more expensive, and wont match aesthetically with many setups. kind of ironic coming from someone with the name AsusRoG? They may sound better but this'll match literally anything that isn't a pure white room.
The Katana sound bars are actually highly recommended by Hardware Canucks, who actually does have some pretty high end audio equipment already. Yes, you're right about "gaming" labels usually meaning shit audio quality, however this product goes against that trend.

Now i cant decide between this and the SE
I personaly prefer the v2
Thank you I will order the v2 today
How is the DAC, Amp and headphone EQ on the V2 compared to the Sound Blaster x4? Are the same tuning and features available in app?
thanks for the excellent review, could you tell me How long is the cable from the SOUNDBAR to the subwoofer?
its about 1.5m
@@A2KMedia THANKYOU, if I want it Extend to 3meters, Do you know some ways I can take it? the trouble is the cable support electricity too.
I suppose if you are willing to get professional then splicing cable is the only way

Is it worth than original katana , in thailand original is around 200$ however the v2 is around 350$. Which one should i pick?

None. Buy Edifier Bookshelf Speaker S1000MKII. At least these speakers well keep their value in time.
Do you hear noise floor when you are just half meter away from it? Most soundbars are not suitable for desktop use due to this issue.
No, nothing to note here.
This one is probably made for PC use. The Sound Blaster line up has been around for decades for PC from speakers and head phones to sound cards.

you can connect directly to PC/Laptop via 3.5 mm jack or USB cable

Is the subwoofer required in order to use the soundbar?
no, but I would recommend having it
@@A2KMedia cool thx for responding! Quick question, is the jack a high impedance port? Can I run a pair of 250ohm headphones?
That I am not sure, I am running 150ohm SENNHEISER HD 58X JUBILEE HEADPHONES without any problems.
i have that exact same amazing all-in-one disappointing monitor.
Is this the model without Dolby?
The v2 has support for dolby
There is no katana v2 on Amazon -_-

can you give me proper info about which brand should i buy, thanks

that's just not true. You'd be hard pressed to find something this high quality with the features it has at all.
razer is better at my opinion
