- Blackie O'Connell and Cyril O'Donoghue have played in venues around the world, and for many who watched this session on Facebook, they were the long awaited duo - missing hearing them play in pubs around the area.
On St. Patrick's Day, 17 March 2021, the Roadside Tavern organised a 5 hour live session in the visitor centre of the Burren Smokehouse. This live session was streamed on the Roadside Tavern's Facebook page.
This live session was watched by hundreds of people around the world - with many heart-felt and personal comments being exchanged. Many people felt comforted by the Irish music in their far-away homes, feeling homesick at the same time.
Heartbroken 😢 hearing the passing away of our most talented musician, Cyril O'Donoghue. Your magical voice will remain in our hearts and souls. ❤ Rest in eternal peace, Cyril. 😢
My favorite musicians in Ireland!!! Doolin delight!!!
Mine too, you have bloody great taste in music Jackie!
The tune associated with Pat Broderick is Planxty Davis in Ireland, or Killicrankie in Scotland - I think!
Was just about to ask the name of the tune! Thanks!😄
Still quite devastated (for you all) & heavy-hearted , after hearing of Cyril's passing...
(I've nothing but fond memories of a kind, genuine, & lovely man!)😢
"I must away now. I can no longer tarry" Oh my... Tears and goosebumps.
My first friends in Doolin. Can’t say Ireland because everyone is charming but these guys are something special. Thank you 🙏🏻😇
Omg song at about 37 minutes! Poignant
What do you call the piece of piping he plays for pat broderick?
Fabulous, as good as it gets in Irish pub music. Love these guys. I have missed them in Doolin a few times, but will make sure to catch them next trip.

Anyone got names for the first set of jigs?
I think the first two are Finbar Dwyer's Favourite and Paddy Keenan's, don't know the third one I'm afraid.
Third jig is Patsy Geary's, I think.
The second tune is a banger.
