9:41 can’t help but feel like I played a part in this point in the video with my comment on the last video. Thank you for showing us the lead tower being built 😂
I have been watching this channel for years now, and I can honestly say, sir you are a Master-Baiter, and your eye for colors amazes me continually, I watch you layer colors and I'm saying NOOOOO, then when you near finished those colors turn into an animated creature,,, just blows me away every time!!!!!!!
Love your videos....been watching for years. I really miss Chip (as I'm sure you and your family do also), and I think it's time for a new puppy.....maybe name him/her Splinter.?. Keep up the great videos.
My father and grandfather were woodcarvers. I don't mean hobbies, it was their full time jobs. As a kid I was "volunteered" to help and what better job for a kid than sanding. Hours and hours of sanding. I never want to sand another thing again! lol
Hey Nate, you should do a video where you paint a bait with colors selected by a randomizer wheel! Spin the wheel and let it pick your every color or paint scheme! Could be a fun idea if you haven't don't this before.
At 9:15 my dang lead pot just started doing this on my last batch of baits. I started to clean the nozzle out but bought another pot just so I'd be sure to never be without one again. I will fix the old pot, but I've had that pot since 2020 when I first started this journey (thanks Nate! I've had tremendous success over the years!!!)
Hi you lure master! I maybe gave you this hint even earlier... You can easily polish the Lexan or acrylic edges with flame. Just a small torch to heat the edge carefully and you will see the polished surface to emerge! Big thanks for your videos and keep on, your work is most entertaining to watch and learn!
Hey man, regarding the lips, I'm amazed you sand and polish them like that. I have a bench grinder with a stone on one side and a stacked cotton polishing disc on the other. I'll grind the sides of a lip / chatterbait blade with the stone side, leaving a very rough finish. And then polish it on the cotton side with a little bit of metal polish. Comes up crystal glassy clear in seconds.
100% Action City! Slipped in that short funky music clip. I heard it and appreciated it. Also, appreciated the extra lead video showing the lead splatter / building the lead mountain. Great looking baits! You said it "Striking!". Love the contrast with stripes. Bluegill looking on the one. Radio voice sounding good on the new setup. Thanks man. Cant wait to see those become O-fish-al.
Dude, I genuinely love your content. You keep it real and don't just post perfection. It makes your videos relatable and enjoyable. You seem like someone I'd be friends with. I'll stay subscribed to you for as long as you continue to be a wonderful artist and inviting to watch.
Let me know if you're ever in central FL. I'd love to show you the local spots. No promises, though. It's super fickle here. Seasonal knowledge means nothing in FL. November topwater? Why not? Fish getting lethargic in
I have learned so much from your videos, each one just a little extra info. I am onto my 5th and 6th lures right now. Making two identical musky lures, jointed wake bait perch. Hoping when all is said and done they have the action I'm looking for. Next time i'll need to do the fancy 45 degree joint and maybe get some screw eyes. So many ways to make a lure, thank you!
Loved your videos Been watching for years. Not going for the pay To play stuff. Don’t forget what got you to where you are. Business decisions for you and your family are what’s best for you and your family and I have no qualms whatsovever!!! Hopefully there be more peeps that pay than those like me who move on. Good luck!
@marlingbaits Nate, if you use a hand-held torch lightly over the edges of the bill of the bait after you sand, it will become crystal clear almost as clean as the flat surface of the bill. Food for thought.
Have you ever thought of building a cuttlefish lure wood body with tentacles from plastisol. It is not natual in freshwater but it would resemble a cross from insect to crawfish. As it would move backwards tail first in the water with the tentacles fluttering in the head area to the flowing in the rear/head area. It would be a unusual and unique lure build. Probably a one of a kind lure.
I have a killer idea for fins. Carve a scoop out of each side of your design. Run a pin through it. Attach metal chatterbait like blades for the fins. You would have to tinker with how to get the action to work properly. Getting action out of fins could be an evolving thing.
I am a fan of this guy, I watch his vids and I learned a lot from him. However, I like how he said he is making a deep diver and he tests it and it barely swims below the surface and he said how great it works. LOL.
I hope I’m not the only women that watches your content. But I chuckle every time you say fellas. 😂 I love fishing and love watching you make these peices of art! Some are so pretty it’s almost crazy to think it was meant to be used. Anyway keep on keeping up the great work!
this is why I hate winter its cold nasty and no fishing. But bro you make more videos, that helps me throw it all. Thanks. I have watch your stuff for a long time I just realized how hard you work to put it all together . I would love to join your program or at lest give you a tip. But i am retired, and don't have the money SS don't pay that muck. I do pray that people donate to you. you deliver it. Some people make a lot of money and just talk, but you give a lot of good advice for free and you put a lot into it, what you doing is outstanding . You might think some days its not important well it is to me and a lot of others,
Hey bud, always love watching your process, it is fascinating. Random bait idea if you look for inspiration in the comments; mini jar of mayonnaise/peanut butter/jar of anything. You could do a whole set of different jars of condiments and see what the fish like best :P
Have you ever made a bait that is super geometrically shaped? Whenever you start cutting the first bevel, it always makes me want to see a bait that has super flat edges everywhere
Have you ever tried painting the scales on first then using the masking fluid to create a bar pattern or some other design over the top of the scales. then paint over the masking fluid so the bars are the only thing that'll come out with scales. Kind of like this one but reverse. The bars with scales and everything else without scales just color.
We got to get you a laser cutter for the lips. I use a 40W omtech and never have to clean up or buff out edges anymore. So much easier and cleaner cuts.
Was really hoping the live streams were going to be on Twitch or YT live or something as opposed to YT Membership, but I guess if it covers your course stuff it makes sense. Good Luck regardless.
"It's like solid paper. Well I guess that's what wood is"
Nate - Marling Baits 2024
Best me to quoting this
I used to make phone booths ( over 45 years ago) and we would sand then use a torch to smooth the acrylic. Works fast and great.

You uploading is exactly what I needed this morning 😂

Never miss a Marling Baits upload. Love your work! Can't wait for the next one. You are an inspiration.
Glad to see this post! It's been a very trying week for me and it always makes me feel better to see you cranking out baits. Thank you!

This Video is pure gold for every lure maker in the world
Do a "One Day " Challenge with the scrap cuttings from your lures
Omg Nate, those were some beautiful colors on both of those baits. You're such a creative genius when it comes to the design of the baits.

Sunday morning coffee and Marling baits? It’s a good morning. Those are some awesome looking baits!
heck yeah brother! awesome paint schemes my friend. them solid paper baits are awesome! thank you nate.
Bamboo rodmaker here. Every time I use my 1" belt sander, I marvel at how much I use it.
Does it shock you when you use it? The static charge zaps me every time I use mine.
Can you make a live bait video again, that would be awsome, I loved your video of live bait fishing so much...🙏
Maybe at the Spot where youe lost this giant Musky or at the dish....
Your literally my favorite channel to watch keep on keeping on .... Super glue and baking soda
Another great video. I have learned so much from the Fishing Your Masterpiece class thank you.
Today is already starting strong with a new Marling video!
I don't mind hearing an infinite number of colour names! Most of them are amusing so it's worth it imo
Love the colors on this
i really like that you built the test tank😉💪👍

Beautiful lure. Can’t wait to have time later to watch video
Lures are neat!
Wondering what kind of products you use for coating!
You should try flame polishing of your acrylic lips. Just touch the edges with a torch a clear polished look.
videos keep getting better marling

You should make a lure just from scraps. It's one of my favorite things to do when I tie flies.
Amazing as always.🎣

You ever try flame polishing the acrylic lips? I know for acrylic fish tanks you can flame polish the edges and they look great just an idea
I hear AKUS and Oh Brother, Dan Tymiknski!!!
Clean lips get me excited.
Thats a big hole.
Man. Nate...I'm getting kinda excited about these baits too 😄
I can see your guitar…😊 great job on the video.👍
Thanks to whoever gifted this marling membership tp me
SLO mo lead splash. Groovy man.
If you hit the edge of the lip with the torch it will turn clear 🔥🔥🤙🤙
I like the blue one. I bet it will catch lunkers.
Daaang Hollywood! Breaking out the big mic. I'm kidding of course. I love your channel.
We need a rainbow darter lure. The paint scheme will be amazing 🤘

Please make a northern studfish lure
Great baits! You should move south! Fishing is great year round!
I think a cool bait idea could be an axolotl would love to see it
Thanks for the upload! FYI looks like the epic bait mold, merch and amazon store links are broken / URL got cut off.
We got to get you a laser cutter for the lips. I use a 40W omtech and never have to clean up or buff out edges anymore. So much easier and cleaner cuts.
Member baiters - should’ve called them master baiters lol.
Great work love your channel ❤
Please revisit a tier list for baits you have made since the last bait rank video!
2:19...come for the baits, stay for the existential philosophy.
You should make a blade bait from that chunk of resin in that cup
Not the Charley Crockett in the BG. Nice choice!
Парень,ты лучший!🔥
Wonder what you could make out of the block of resin you will have when your mixing tray gets full?
Marling baits is literally the channel that started my borderline unhealthy you tube addiction.... thanks Nate lol
Make yourself into a lure before New Years please
I wonder if you could make a wooden spoon with the cutoffs from the top profile? Just a thought.
SOOOO. That means That you will be the Masterbaiter
Remember when the videos were just quiet, with no talking? These are so much more fun! I used to watch them just to help me fall asleep.
Was really hoping the live streams were going to be on Twitch or YT live or something as opposed to YT Membership, but I guess if it covers your course stuff it makes sense. Good Luck regardless.
You can flame polish acrylic.
Mind of if I ask what the stencil you were using was? I’d like to pick one up. Love the videos, look forward to new ones.
I need a member baiter sticker!! Haha
