Rice tastes good with many different dishes. I've also added leftover spaghetti sauce and chili to mine. My favorite though is sinigang (Filipino sour soup).
Thank you! I was so confused by how much water was required in the pot for the low carb setting. I just ran back to my kitchen to stop the cooker I had just started to add more water. I will definitely make this taco rice at some point, it sounds amazing and looks amazing.
What is the rice to water ratio? I have an instant pot and silicone colander I can set above the water. I prefer to try using what I already own than buying another device.
You just kicked me um...to the delish zone! Always ready to taste new dishes! Yummy, yum! Doing the air fryer way. Waving to you from south Georgia-land of best Peaches, boiled Peanuts, & Vidalia onions! ; )
A cup of uncooked rice is 700 calories and 140 g carb, for those who are really carb concious, this thing works without rice, taco meat on madolined cabbage is also good
Looks like a tasty recipe! Please explain how this magically takes the carbs out of rice. One cup of rice is about 51 carbs how many is it with using that cooker? I know you can remove some starch just by rinising like you did or eating the rice after it's cooled the next day makes it starch resistant. I'm just curious how a machine can suck out the starch if so that's a game changer. I love rice but stopped eating it while on Keto.
The rice cooker captures/ drains the excess water when cooking (which you throw out). Toshiba’s product page says it can remove up to 37% of unhealthy digestive starch during the cooking process. If you’re on keto though it’s still carbs. Unfortunately Keto is hard but you could always sub with cauliflower rice.
To be fair she dumped a visible amount of starchy water after cooking was done. That starch would be otherwise absorbed into traditionally cooked rice that sits in boiling water. Check here for a better diagram ruclips.net/video/_PgRo293puk/видео.html I am studying this device’s setup since I wanna try it in my Instant Pot with a colander of my own.
It's more accurately reduced carb rice, not low carb because the carb content is still rather high. But the reduction is still better for a healthier lifestyle.
I have never tried Mexican cuisines yet, but the low carb taco rice sure looks nutritious and healthy.💖

No such thing as low carb rice. I think this is a con. (By Toshiba not Angle) Cooked white rice has a GI of around 64. I would love it to be true!
