  • A.P. Giannini Foundation 2022 fellow Gary Dixon, Ph.D. is training at the UCSF School of Medicine In the Kampmann Lab at UCSF where they have pioneered the use of CRISPRi screens within human stem-cell derived neurons. Gary says that "what this means is that we can now probe every gene in the genome for functional significance to disease processes in human neurons. In other words, our efforts in understanding what is causal to disease, has been dramatically accelerated." On this Crossroads report, Gary shares the story of his research.
