My big sister listened to this song on repeat all the time. I fell in love with it and would sneak in her room and listen to it when she wasn't home. I lost her a few years ago to cancer. She was only 37. Miss you Tiffany.
I was in my mid 20s when this song came out, now im an old fat man in my 50s, a broken body but eased mind, the nostalgia rolls over me like a velvet freight train, an ache for old friends ive not seen in so long, my life now is passing so quickly it seems, then time stretched out on and on...i dont know where im going with this, i reckon i miss the people of my youth, i dont miss the confusion, i miss the time stretched leisurely out before me, i dont miss the lack of direction and wishing i could be a better man, i like to think i became that better man, and this song helps me to put my life into perspective with its harsh contrast of 20s me and old man me.

People still make great music, just unfortunate there is no one to promote it. Also doesn't help you can't safely have opinions anymore so there goes most of the front-men from the 90's bands.
The lack of drums in this song always gives me melancholic chills. Instead, they used the violin and/or cello, which makes it even more eerily beautiful. One of my favourite songs.
Legit! I was looking for songs for my son and I to jam to. Thought this one would be easy on the drums and I had a wtf moment! My ears were playing tricks on me in the 90's! lol! Good ol music!
At 15 I got to see Nirvana, then Soundgarden.. at 16 I saw Bush. And damn, what a time it was to be part of the grunge scene. Happy to remember it. Epic era for music.
This song was my best friends favorite song.he drowned when I was 17 back in 98 and everytime I hear this song I can still hear his voice singing it.brings tears to my eyes just thinking about him and the great times I had back in the 90s as a teenager.
I'm 63 and have lived through Zeppelin, The Who , Beatles, Stones ect. I miss their music terribly. Gave up on rock and roll for awhile. Then grunge hit. Fuck man, I've lived through some great music. Please come back rock. Man I miss you.
Well I 56 and started out with Zep, Black Sabbeth, etc. and by the 90s thought it was over but grunge gave me a 2nd wind for music. But I have to say post 2000 I can't name one song or group that I know or like.
You are truly stone age. I can't hear another Beatles, Who or Stones song for the rest of my 60 year old body or my ears. Never mind Smoke on the Waters
For the past two and a half hours I've been living in nostalgia listening to youtube and I've had goosebumps remembering my life from those days. Its almost sad to come back to reality.
I lost my baby brother in 04,my birthday of all days. He was 24,he seemed to be playing this song on guitar all the time. I can't help crying when I hear it. I miss you Beeks.
This song. Full stop. Just listen to the lyrics. Beautiful. The vocals, the cello, the violins, the electric guitar. This is the type of song you want in a Time Capsule.
Actually so nice flicking through the comments while listening to this, so many stories about what the music means to people, where they were/are in thier lives. Honestly a much needed boost of positivity right now.
And this tells us that those acts that palpably slow time down, are precious. An afternoon in the woods (without ''devices''), thumbing through pictures of your friends on a Saturday afternoon, meditation, and dusting off and getting lost again in the music that in youth we believed would be our daily fare. 😌
I never got into Bush back in the day. It was too bleak n depressing as I was highwired n more into 70s n wore vintage clothing n driving cheap classics like my 72 nova n 63 impala n 75 comet in high school. But this was so overplayed at parties that I can now close my eyes when sipping n relive so many good times n wonder where everyone is now. I haven't seen any of em since then. I was actually nicknamed Shaggy from Scooby-Doo cause I looked like him haircut n all n was told I was born 20 yrs too late..lol listening to this now tho mellows me out even tho I'm still spun n started a new career in my mid 40s building and n climbing windmills. Use to hackey sack everyday back then n ride my bmx everywhere with my friends so it only took me 2 weeks to get back in shape to climb 170+ft wind turbine towers now..lol that's on top of 31 yrs smoking since 12 yo n drinking parties age 13..lol listening to these lyrics now of Don't Let The Days Go By mean different to me now from back in the day. Now I live everyday to the fullest n bought another 84 Silverfox Racing BMX to hit the streets with on days. Kids now don't even know what a bunny hop is is over curbs n shit. It's so sad. Sad as this song used to be for me..lololol
mmm yes, all the comments about death are great positivity, reminds me of how pointless life is and that theres no point to anything at all as we all die and in a few years are totally forgotten
Glycerine Lyrics [Verse 1] It must be your skin I'm sinking in It must be for real, 'cause now I can feel I didn't mind, It's not my kind It's not my time to wonder why Everything gone white, everything's grey Now you're here, now you're away I don't want this, remember that I'll never forget where you're at [Chorus] Don't let the days go by Glycerine, glycerine [Verse 2] I'm never alone, I'm alone all the time Are you at one? Do you lie? We live in a wheel where everyone steals But when we rise, it's like strawberry fields Treated you bad, you bruise my face Couldn't love you more, you've got a beautiful taste [Chorus] Don't let the days go by Could've been easier on you I couldn't change though I wanted to It should have been easier by three Our old friend fear and you and me Glycerine, glycerine Don't let the days go by Glycerine Don't let the days go by.... [Post-Chorus] Glycerine, glycerine Uh... glycerine, glycerine [Bridge] Bad moon white again Bad moon white again As she falls around me [Verse 3] I needed you more, you wanted us less I could not kiss, just regress It might just be clear, simple and plain Well, that's just fine, that's just one of my names [Chorus] Don't let the days go by Could've been easier on you, you, you Glycerine, glycerine Glycerine, glycerine
This song has stuck by me for almost 30 yrs. Was the soundtrack through an abusive relationship and all my loves and losses, my drug use, my alcoholism, My recovery and my sobriety. This is the song I want played when my time is up…
My dad blasted this when I was 9 and my mom had terminal cancer. I’ll never forget how absolutely sad I felt at that moment and how we all just sunk into immediate depression ... RIP mom
@@donsutton1954 very cool - and inspiring! Recently FINALLY have access to my 14yr old grandnephew, i think we need to jam!🤘🏼TY for your input MUCH APPRECIATED! 🪄✨Music will make everything better🕊️💕
This was the first song to play on the radio when I was driving home from the hospital after my Mom suddenly passed away. Cherish your loved ones and spend as much time as you can with them because you never know when it will all come to an end.
My dad just passed in January from covid. It felt like I got kicked in the stomach. It hurts so much to lose the ones we love the most. I thought we had more time. I hope you're doing well 💗💗💗💗💗💗💗 I'm just taking things one moment at a time 💔
This song is deep. I never understood it when I was a kid. Now as a grown man married with kids. It makes you appreciate what you have. Enjoy the time with your love ones and live life to the fullest. Blessings.
This is one of those songs that can mean anything you want it to and has always catered to all of my different emotions. The best alternative rock song of the 90s. I’m never alone, I’m alone all the time But when we rise, it’s like strawberry fields❤❤❤
I was born in 1989. I lived with my mother then. She was going through pure hell. Only the music of the time gave her enough time to tell me that I will be okay, and what was wrong from right. I am still alive today. I am 32. My mum was 31 when she passed. Thank you 1990s. My mums name was Tammi.
Depressing and beautiful. Way to write it out that she passed one year younger then when you shared this comment. Finally someone calls it. (See below)
I'm 50 and still come here and listen to it at least once a week. I was in a rough time in my life at about 22 when this song came out and its very melancholy.
I feel the same way. I wish I wasn't but it's True. Honored to have saw Bush perform this song Live at CBS On Beverly Blvd. in Los Angeles. Great Memories
The hurt will always be tucked away your heart and certain songs will bring it out from hiding and it will be felt all over again. That's how you know your still human and still have a heart that has been broken.
It's 2024, yeah... And still. One of my favorite songs from my teenage years. It reminds me of many experiences, my first love, my first emotional tears, many joys and strong emotions. It's a great song that deserves an important place in the soundtrack of my life. Thanks Bush!
This song reminds me of the 90’s, of my teen years. I would listen to this song on loop until I’d fall asleep. It seemed so beautiful to me back then. It made me feel inexplicably nostalgic. Listening to it again now, I still feel it’s so beautiful.
I remember being a child with my dad in the truck, we would listen to this song everytime, he passed away when I was only 7, this song leaves a scar on my heart but yet heals that wound 😔😔😭😭💖💖
going through the comments it's amazing how many people associate this song with their loved ones who passed away, or some other painful experiences. but at the same time these comments give the vibes that the people survived, they keep going, keep living and this song brings back cherished memories. i find it quite beautiful and powerful.

I was born very first day of woodstock Festival 1969. I was old enough to be in music circles here in the pacific Northwest when the grunge era began. Living near Seattle All my life ,oh the stories.
This song came out when I was barely legal to drink. Now I’m 50 and the world is soooo different! I wasn’t a mom yet and now I’m a mom and old enough to be a grandma. Where does the time go?!!! Enjoy your youth young people. Hang on to those you care about. You never know how much time you have, and It’s gone in the blink of an eye.
“Resolve to be tender with the young, compassionate with the aged, sympathetic with the striving, and tolerant of the weak and the wrong. Because sometime in life you will have been all of these.” ― George Washington Carver. Great comment.
Stumbled across an old burned cd in my car. Had this in the mix. Damn, it felt just like a mental time machine. Almost broke down in tears on the freeway. Where has the time gone?? The sand in the hourglass is falling faster and faster....
Man. .. and you really can't explain to younger people how fast it's going to happen to them. I wish I could, so they could live as hard as we would've if we saw it coming.
3-14-2019 I'm 39 and this brings me back to my childhood. I miss these days so much just hanging out listening to music. The music from back then makes so much more sense.
We used to be so young, so beautiful, so full of promise. Running around trying to figure out who we were and who we wanted to be. We didn't need to understand the chaos of the world around us, we just needed to know we were different and we carved our mark into a world that didn't get us. I dedicate this one to all my Gen-X peepz. Never forget how good we truly had it, and how cool we truly were.
We've all been through hardship. Everyone reading this has managed to overcome their own issues and hurt, in a sense, this is what bonds us. We are all brothers and sisters. Love you guys x
Nostalgia, the best drug. God if I could just rewind time 25yrs back. "My Pet Monster", "Critters", the first "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles", Pearl Jam, my first Florida BMX title. Life was good and I had no clue just how much I would miss you 1990's. I'd do anything to get back to you w/the knowledge I have now 💯
It's what people are capable of when they're not spending all their time worrying about who they might offend; when they aren't catering to fractions of a percentage of the population.
This is such an awesome song! Here's my take: The song "Glycerine" by Bush is primarily about the complexities of a romantic relationship. The lyrics suggest a deep emotional connection between the singer and the person he's addressing, but also hint at the fear and uncertainty that often accompany such intense relationships. The song's title, "Glycerine," is thought to be a metaphor for the volatile nature of love, which can be both sweet and explosive. The lyrics describe a relationship that is passionate and all-consuming, but also fraught with tension and conflict. The singer is deeply in love with the person he's addressing, but also feels a sense of impending doom, as if the relationship could end at any moment. The line "Don't let the days go by" is a plea to cherish the time they have together, while "Our old friend fear and you and me" suggests that fear is a constant presence in their relationship. The song's chorus, "Glycerine, glycerine," is a repeated refrain that serves as a reminder of the song's central metaphor. Glycerine is a sweet, slippery substance that can also be explosive when mixed with certain elements, much like the singer's relationship. Overall, "Glycerine" is a powerful and emotive song that explores the highs and lows of a tumultuous relationship, and the fear and uncertainty that often accompany deep emotional connections. What do you think?

I was 5 when Glycerine was released. One of my earliest memories is jamming out in the car to this masterpiece. Now at 35, I’m exhausted by what I hear hitting the airwaves. 90’s rock forever! 🤘
When I was 20, during a bad breakup, I smoked so much weed while listening to this song on repeat... I bet there is a bedroom in a second floor apartment on Hudson St. in Eau Claire WI where the sound waves and the THC still seep up from the floor boards. You are welcome whoever lives there now.
Makes me think of my son. 😢 He passed away when he was 8. I miss him so much it hurts. I wish I could talk to him… I have so much I wanna say. Until then, I hope he’s resting peacefully.
I hope he is too. If you don't mind going dark, you could try a 5 plus gram mushroom trip. It was cathartic for me. Really helped make the pain go away. I hope you find find yourself again.
My condolences for you loss. I cannot even imagine that kind of pain. May God ease your pain. Live right & l9ve him as he was. I pray that when its your time , you see him again . God Bless you & yours.
I want to understand why some music is so haunting it touches something in us we can't articulate....this song will always haunt my soul and fuel my nostalgia for days gone by....
This era was amazing….brings back great memories.Being young and hanging out like the world was never going to end.Miss so many people some moved away,or passed away
Because they knew it was the end of an empire. It's the same reason all music nowadays is uninspired garbage and all sounds the same: artists aren't a thing anymore. What you have are plastic corporate cut outs pretending to be them.
This reminds me of chilling with my Dad back in my early teens. It also embodies the 90s in my opinion. This song is super underrated, idk why people forget this one
One of the most beautiful songs of my childhood. Bush, along with a select few other 90's bands have had the longest and largest impression on my life... the nostalgia is thick and weighs me down like the feeling of running into a heavy wind...
Same here. 90s more than any other era. I’m 35 and still feel nostalgic for the Beatles and Eagles but that was through my dad. This mystic was my own. I have 4 kids and my wife and I try to play good rock for my kids but my oldest is in the first grade so too early. I still feel young though. I have a pacemaker Defibrillator in my chest but I live like a kid in a lot of ways. I’m a professional sculptor with long hair and I think I’m still cool and look better than I ever have lol. It’s all downhill after 40 tho lol
I’m going through one of the hardest most physically and mentally challenging time of my life. I’ve been playing this song on repeat… it’s like an ode to myself All the excruciating pain I’m feeling Thoughts of people I let slide through my hand I could decipher each and every lyric as to how it pertains to my every emotion right now. It’s only thing that gives me comfort. It makes me feel alive Chills down my spine ❤
Hope life takes a better turn for you soon. I can only draw on my own life but I do know there were some songs that just resonated with me. If you can draw strength from music, do so🙏🏻 I’ve cried my heart out sometimes, joyfully “sung“ songs at full force at other times - maybe it’s cathartic, I don’t know but it helps. We all make mistakes or take wrong paths at times, we will lose people we love, there are things we cannot control. We are but human.
I'm sorry girl. I promise it always gets easier, whatever is happening right now will one day just be a lesson learned. I'm 58 now. All of those things that were so painful that I was sure I would die, they're all part of my life story and behind me know. .
My big sister listened to this song on repeat all the time. I fell in love with it and would sneak in her room and listen to it when she wasn't home. I lost her a few years ago to cancer. She was only 37. Miss you Tiffany.
Damn she's only 3 years older than me. Sorry for your lost man. Cancer is a bitch. She had great taste in music
Listen to it from time to time again without her knowing, my friend. I believe she appreciates it wherever she is..
I love my sister....thank you.

For the past two and a half hours I've been living in nostalgia listening to youtube and I've had goosebumps remembering my life from those days. Its almost sad to come back to reality.
Truly was something growing up in the 90's.
Although its sad to look back. I am still glad I am able to relive the memories.

"I'm never alone, I'm alone all of the time." - One of the best lyrics in all of rock - EVER.
It really is - and it captures that feeling with such simplicity
Definitely one of the best lyrics ever. Hits home so much
Yes it is...
I don’t get it. Is it supposed to be profound?
@@all.the.same.iProductions it means you may be surrounded by people but still feel utterly alone/lonely
Actually so nice flicking through the comments while listening to this, so many stories about what the music means to people, where they were/are in thier lives. Honestly a much needed boost of positivity right now.
I do it too. I can't watch a video if there aren't comments.
Absolutely! ❤️
mmm yes, all the comments about death are great positivity, reminds me of how pointless life is and that theres no point to anything at all as we all die and in a few years are totally forgotten

Glycerine Lyrics
[Verse 1]
It must be your skin I'm sinking in
It must be for real, 'cause now I can feel
I didn't mind, It's not my kind
It's not my time to wonder why
Everything gone white, everything's grey
Now you're here, now you're away
I don't want this, remember that
I'll never forget where you're at
[Chorus]
Don't let the days go by
Glycerine, glycerine
[Verse 2]
I'm never alone, I'm alone all the time
Are you at one? Do you lie?
We live in a wheel where everyone steals
But when we rise, it's like strawberry fields
Treated you bad, you bruise my face
Couldn't love you more, you've got a beautiful taste
[Chorus]
Don't let the days go by
Could've been easier on you
I couldn't change though I wanted to
It should have been easier by three
Our old friend fear and you and me
Glycerine, glycerine
Don't let the days go by
Glycerine
Don't let the days go by....
[Post-Chorus]
Glycerine, glycerine
Uh... glycerine, glycerine
[Bridge]
Bad moon white again
Bad moon white again
As she falls around me
[Verse 3]
I needed you more, you wanted us less
I could not kiss, just regress
It might just be clear, simple and plain
Well, that's just fine, that's just one of my names

Don't let the days go by

That's actually 2 decades but OK.
There's one or two things from the 80s, but it was generally shit for music and fashion. 70s is pure music, and 90s was amazing
you could say that about every single decade.

It's not my kind
It's not my time to wonder why
Everything's gone white
And everything's grey
Now you're here now you're away
I don't want this
Remember that
I'll never forget where you're at
Don't let the days go by
Glycerin
Glycerin
I'm never alone
I'm alone all the time
Are you at one
Or do you lie
We live in a wheel
Where everyone steals
But when we rise it's like strawberry fields
If I treated you bad
You bruise my face
Couldn't love you more
You got a beautiful taste
Don't let the days go by
Could have been easier on you
I couldn't change though I wanted to
Should I have been easier by three
Our old friend fear and you and me
Glycerin
Glycerin
Don't let the days go by
Glycerin
Don't let the days go by
Glycerin, glycerin
Glycerin, glycerin
Bad moon white again
Bad moon white again
And she falls around me
I needed you more
You wanted us less
I could not kiss just regress
It might just be
Clear simple and plain
That's just fine
That's just one of my names
Don't let the days go by
Could've been easier on you, you, you
Glycerine
Glycerine
Glycerine
Glycerine
Thank you Reza for typing the lyrics! One of my favorite songs of all time!
I agree with snuggles, I love singing and do not know the lyrics to songs!

Thanks
This was one of my Daddy's favorite songs. Rest in Peace ❤
@gavin rossdale thanks
@gavin rossdale narcissist, and a liar.
@gavin rossdale Shut up you aren't really Gavin Rossdale you liar lol
I was 5 when Glycerine was released. One of my earliest memories is jamming out in the car to this masterpiece. Now at 35, I’m exhausted by what I hear hitting the airwaves. 90’s rock forever! 🤘
Hi I recommend a song That's called 'Life Changes' By Robert Nix
Sadgasm
i can't believe you're not mine...
Margerine.
That’s what brought me here
Margarine!!
Just watched that🤣
still think that Homers version was better XD
When I was 20, during a bad breakup, I smoked so much weed while listening to this song on repeat... I bet there is a bedroom in a second floor apartment on Hudson St. in Eau Claire WI where the sound waves and the THC still seep up from the floor boards. You are welcome whoever lives there now.
That's amazing
Brilliant
lol I lived in EC at the time too

Dead💀😂
Makes me think of my son. 😢 He passed away when he was 8. I miss him so much it hurts. I wish I could talk to him… I have so much I wanna say.
Until then, I hope he’s resting peacefully.
rest in peace. I'm sorry for your loss and hope you get to see him again.
I hope he is too. If you don't mind going dark, you could try a 5 plus gram mushroom trip. It was cathartic for me. Really helped make the pain go away. I hope you find find yourself again.
My condolences sir/mam , may he rest in peace . That had to have been so depressing losing him , but I bet you gave him a great life .
I will never know your pain, but I know he is surrounded by love and light; rest easy friend.
My condolences for you loss. I cannot even imagine that kind of pain. May God ease your pain. Live right & l9ve him as he was. I pray that when its your time , you see him again . God Bless you & yours.
Good music...
This song is a perfect example why I love the 90s
Maybe the world did end and we're all ghosts drifting towards mediocrity and despair.
years happpy 90
I want to understand why some music is so haunting it touches something in us we can't articulate....this song will always haunt my soul and fuel my nostalgia for days gone by....
One of the greatest Rock ballads of all time. Certainly #1 for me.
lmao
This era was amazing….brings back great memories.Being young and hanging out like the world was never going to end.Miss so many people some moved away,or passed away
Hi I recommend a song that's called 'Life Changes' by Robert Nix
No matter how many yrs go by or how many times I hear it, this song tugs on my soul in a way not many songs can.
facts
Every song from the 90s seems to tear out my heart. Heart ache and heart break
Because they knew it was the end of an empire.
It's the same reason all music nowadays is uninspired garbage and all sounds the same: artists aren't a thing anymore.
What you have are plastic corporate cut outs pretending to be them.
Agreed. 🙏❤🤘
This reminds me of chilling with my Dad back in my early teens. It also embodies the 90s in my opinion. This song is super underrated, idk why people forget this one
How far the music industry has fallen since this amazing time of unbelievable music.
"Couldn't love you more, you've got a beautiful taste" is my fav line
One of the most beautiful songs of my childhood.
Bush, along with a select few other 90's bands have had the longest and largest impression on my life... the nostalgia is thick and weighs me down like the feeling of running into a heavy wind...
I can relate dude.
Boston, Ac/Dc, Ted Nugent, Black Sabbath,- they did it for me and this Bush reminds me of that time.
CorpseCall I'm rite there with you
Beautiful description of the same feeling I get when I hear certain 90's songs. This song especially.
CorpseCall oh yes
I’m going through one of the hardest most physically and mentally challenging time of my life.
I’ve been playing this song on repeat… it’s like an ode to myself
All the excruciating pain I’m feeling
Thoughts of people I let slide through my hand
I could decipher each and every lyric as to how it pertains to my every emotion right now.
It’s only thing that gives me comfort.
It makes me feel alive
Chills down my spine
❤
Hi I Recommend A song called 'The Bond Villain' by Robert Nix
Hope life takes a better turn for you soon. I can only draw on my own life but I do know there were some songs that just resonated with me. If you can draw strength from music, do so🙏🏻 I’ve cried my heart out sometimes, joyfully “sung“ songs at full force at other times - maybe it’s cathartic, I don’t know but it helps. We all make mistakes or take wrong paths at times, we will lose people we love, there are things we cannot control. We are but human.
I'm sorry girl. I promise it always gets easier, whatever is happening right now will one day just be a lesson learned.
I'm 58 now. All of those things that were so painful that I was sure I would die, they're all part of my life story and behind me know. .
