Give Me the Night (George Benson cover with extended guitar solo)

- Hi Kids,
New video. I wanted to mix it up and try something interesting.
This song is an upbeat number: "Give Me the Night" by George Benson. George Benson is a BEAST. Truth be told, I'm more for the Pat Metheny "school" of guitar playing: I generally try and get a dark and warm sound out of whatever I'm playing because that's really my sensibility. That being said, the more I sing the more George Benson's whole thing makes sense: when there are voices involved, the brighter the guitar tone the better, and because of the texture of my voice, that bright guitar adds real contrast and cuts through. George Benson is so good at singing AND guitar playing, I play this respectfully - not trying to even act like I think I'm him - just trying to have fun. ;)
Gear: I used the Fender Nashville Telecaster for the rhythm guitar out of the left speaker, the Peavey Patriot for the bass, and the Ibanez archtop for the lead guitar (a la George Benson). Also, as mentioned before, I wanted to try and touch on what Mr. Benson actually does, so instead of turning the tone to 1 like I normally do, I turned up all the way to 10 - sounds really wiry and bright, though the reverb gives it warmth. I though the lead guitar turned out the best.

While I try and keep an open mind, I've historically been against those shows. I haven't really followed them in the last decade or so they've been in existence: I think they step into the world of exploitation, though I guess people need a shot. You never know. What are your thoughts on them, Sir?
