That Big Boy at 10:38 shows why it'll always be the King of the Steam Locomotives! And the thunderstorms in Arvada at 6:57. And the three-way meet in Fort Madison at 4:15. And that huge tractor-trailer payload in LaGrange at 14:33. And the Lost Dog at 10:10 (glad he or she made it). Keep these grab bags coming!
Don't mind Thunderstorms but Terrified of Tornadoes, Great Video and thanks so much for sharing so we hear in Australia can get to see such great scenes as the Big 10 Curve etc. Stunning Scenery and great skills with Video.
This was a great action filled Grab Bag, enjoyed the doubles at the horseshoe curve, as well as the triples at Fort Madison. Enjoyed the fantastic filming of the storms at Big 10 curve, very skillful done by VRF. Enjoy seeing my favorite Amtrak trains passing thru at la Plata, Ashland, Elkhart and of course Fort Madison. Keep up the excellent work!!
Thank you for all the oldies cars/ trailers from my time back in the day. Brings back wonderful good times as many will have never the pleasure to experience!❤
10:42 I can never get enough of UP Big Boy 4014. What a magnificent piece of machinery! 15:11 What kind of train is this? Another commenter said it's for MoW, but what exactly does it do? 15:57 Is it just me, or does this camera angle make the trains look like a model railroad setup instead of the real thing?
Wide load at La Grange, 14:38 is the heat exchanger, or a fancy way of saying radiator, for a large natural gas compressor. Often they ship them laying one their side so they're not as tall.
That thunderstorm was insane! Must have been non stop noise. I'm glad the dog at Kearney NE. Made a wise choice. Loved the union Pacific Big boy and even the weed sprayer train.
A nice addition would be steam visits schedules. In the typed area. I don't know were they are posted for special trains going thru towns. In Maryland a super red switcher. Plus was BNSF using a caboose as a spacer? Fun Yogi the bear picnic basket cartoon... cars and campers in Washington. Thanks addundum that camera in Colorado is great! CSX red is sharp looking for sure.
Except it was a cab over that Lightning McQueen chased down instead of a conventional semi. But yeah you're right, it does remind us of Cars. As for the trailer, it was hauling car batteries instead of cattle.
Moments I saw live 9:45 - One of the greatest run-bys I've ever seen through La Plata. Amtrak, 85mph, M1. Can't beat it. 10:34 - Great to see the Big Boy again, second time I've seen it on a VRF cam live. 15:09 - This was the first train I saw live while waiting for Big Boy to arrive, very interesting MOW train. 16:26 - Now that was an interesting one to find while watching my favourite webcam.

Watching local weather during storm and switched to the Big 10 cam for the show and it didn't disappoint thanks to great camera work during the storm. Lots of free water every day for weeks!
Very diligent as railroads are charged, by the day or hour even I believe, industry wide agreed upon rates (depending on loco types) for foreign roads units on their lines. Generally most operators strive to have "run through power" balance out between companies.
Depends on the situation. In excursion service or on a tourist road diesel is often used to share load of consist, lead on back up moves or maybe insurance against breakdown so passengers not stranded. On transfer or ferry moves on mainlines diesels used for primary power and steamer worked just enough for lubrication, etc purposes.
In 2021 the trailing diesel became an integral part of 4014's compliance with positive train control requirements: the diesel provides the PTC computer (and the signal inputs), and the locomotives' brakes are interconnected.
Because someone called in saying they were going to shoot up the station when the Southwest Chief stops there but later on the police found out it was a hoax but if they catch whoever made that call they're finished.
Lot's of action, lightning 🌩 was fierce, wave from NS Engineer from the cab of GE AC44C6M, Horseshoe Curve great action, trains highballing and romping the rails more than a mile a minute Alright !🛤🚂
Amazing storm sequence from the Arvada cam. Springtime can be quite an adventure here, get your errands done before midday!
You did a beautiful job with the storm sequence. Thanks so much.
Yeah, that was pretty awesome. The slow motion was spectacular. "So, earthlings! Um... basically, end of the world."

A great grab bag became greater when you showcased the MoPac “Eagle” for me. Always a treat to see 4014 working her magic too.

Love the storms and big boy!

MoPac at Waycross was good to see, the kid waving at Ft. Madison made me smile and I thought at Elkhart, Amtrak 164 looked very smart in her livery.
Great Grab Bag! And what intense Lightning Arvada had.
Great compilation! Loved seeing 4014 running again and so many turning out to see it!
Thank you for all the oldies cars/ trailers from my time back in the day. Brings back wonderful good times as many will have never the pleasure to experience!❤
I live about half an hour outside of the big 10 curve, and I’m terrified of thunderstorms. 😢
Me too!!!
I'd be in my glory watching the storms 😊
@@kendufresne the only thing I don't like about them is the noise
@@T1_Productions its just noise you should be afraid of lightning 🌩️ it will scare you and you never know when its gonna hit close
Really Good Grief why
Worthy of a re-run!

15:57 Is it just me, or does this camera angle make the trains look like a model railroad setup instead of the real thing?
The train at 15:11 is used for weed control all over the UP system. As for your next comment that's just how far up the Big 10 curves are from Denver.
Sarah, yes I have also noticed that Arvada looks like a model railroad sometimes
Great Job Gang On The Grab Bag! Big Boy Beautiful as Ever! Thunderstorm Over Denver ! Go Nuggets 😂
Love the big boy nothing better than a steam whistle sm the storm over denver was amazing,!!!
GREAT grab bag, Thanks so much !
I love the lightning show 😊
Top self Grab Bag! Lighting storm over Denver Metropolitan area at 07:00
Best Grab Bag ever! The lit up bull rack in Kearney and the RGN in LaGrange were nice additions, too.
Love the closing shot. One of eight station cats at AMTRAK Tucson.
Amazing

The editing in this grabbag is topnotch. It usually is but you've outdone yourself with this one. Thanks!
10:37 - I was trackside when the Big Boy came through my neck of the woods in Texas several years ago, and does it ever shake the ground - PURE POWER!
yay saw the Big Boy in Gering, Nebraska this week on Wed June 7th 2023
This is amazing!!!!!
That thunderstorm was insane! Must have been non stop noise. I'm glad the dog at Kearney NE. Made a wise choice. Loved the union Pacific Big boy and even the weed sprayer train.
That dog was lucky in Kearney.
Great 3 way meet @ Ft Madison and @ 4:15 the 2 EB running neck and neck almost as if loading Noah's Ark along the Mississippi River
Cat letting us know that a spike needs to be driven back in…. 😉
11:48 Interesting that bigboy brings along a flatcar with spare parts.
I think the big boy was carrying cargo. Paying for his start up. Funny comment for sure. Thanks

@@ck4426 Maintenance Of Way
@@Cpr1234 what does that mean? A track checker?
@@ck4426 I believe they can be used for track work purposes. I could be wrong though, as I am not an expert with these kinds of trains.
Notice the water spraying the ballast near the rear car. This should be the weed spray train that covers the main lines.

We live in Aurora and that thing went right through us. Very intense lots of wind and hail. In fact it looked like it had snowed afterwards.
10:08 Nearly had a Dogwin Award winner in Kearney.
😮😢
Racing at the Horseshoe! Haven't seen that before!
Stunning electric storm. Glad power did not go out but that would've looked incredible if the lights of the cities went out.
The dog in Kearney just proves dogs are smarter than humans.
You got that right. If the dog could drive, it wouldn't go anywhere near train tracks.
Amazing

How diligent are railroads about sending foreign power back to their home railroad?
Very diligent as railroads are charged, by the day or hour even I believe, industry wide agreed upon rates (depending on loco types) for foreign roads units on their lines. Generally most operators strive to have "run through power" balance out between companies.
Was that 4015 following 4014? Nice!
Whether it's WM 1309 or now UP 4014, whenever I see a Diesel in the consist, I have to wonder if the steam is really in operation?
Depends on the situation. In excursion service or on a tourist road diesel is often used to share load of consist, lead on back up moves or maybe insurance against breakdown so passengers not stranded. The Big Boy is a beautiful steam locomotive, it is a very large steam locomotive
It's raining 😷🌧️
You should add a camera in Memphis
Chessie's cousin Baltimore..quite the thunderstorms.
Man those cameras are good if they can pick up the leaders like that. What’s next? Sprites?

I saw that switcher engine in coraopolis
What are those large yellow Komatsu machines.
They are Mine Dump truck bodies, to be assembled on site.
I saw a spike sticking up by by the cat somebody should tell the railroad company that
Man, I wish a steam engine would come through Ashland or LaGrange.
Looks like Mini Me had a car to himself at 10:00. But that was cool to see. Is it for luggage?
wonder it the cat's name was 'Spike' ? ( look closely )
