Siren songs can pull you under. Like the old tales of mermaids(aka sirens) luring sailors in with their beautiful songs & pulling sailors off of ships into the water drowning them.
Inspire the Liars or Prisoner should be your next choice with this band. Prisoner is off their most recent album and Inspire the Liars is off the same album as Man of the Year. Both some of their most popular and best
Just a heads up, the lyrics are usually in the video descriptions if you guys ever need to look at them. But he says "Siren songs can pull you under." Also I understand that this song is very hard to digest on the first listen.
You guys are amazing. You don't just listen to the song for views, you actually break it down and appreciate it in portions. Most reaction channels will play it through, no stop, and be like "Yo, that was great! Subscribe for more!". You guys truly appreciate music even if it's not in your area of what your'e familiar with. Respect.
Really appreciate the love. We definitely do our best to hear everything and enjoy a song in full. Sometimes we are a bit talkative, but it's because we love music.
tilian's high smooth vocals can also be low and raspy, while non can be low and raspy while also going high and more smooth screams. they compliment so well. that's why im not a huge fan of andrew and jon combo
Im glad the patreon suggested this BUT they shoulda suggested this PLUS the Tree City Sessions 2 version. It was a virtual concert they did from the Tower Bridge in their hometown of Sacramento. Check it out. They are amazing live. About to see them agaiin (07/17/22) So you guys mentioned Tim passing away.... It is super sad. Ive listened to these guys since 2006 but stopped for a while around 2010 & started listening again around 2016. They quickly became one of my favorite bands. I highly suggest you guys checking out "Inspire The Liars" but another song and its very special to me is "One In A Million" They released the music video the same day my brother passed away (07/14/20) and they had their Afterburner virtual show three days later, the same day as my brother's viewing. Which is the same day I'm gonna see them on but without Tim now (July 17th.... kinda crazy) Oh and all this right around my and my moms birthdays (7/14 & 7/22) It sounds cliche but my brother truly was one in a million and anybody that knew him would agree. This band has become my favorite.
REEEEEAAAALLLLYYY love how you all go deep into their music. Keep on going and going, it's all amazing. Get to look forward to Jackpot Juicer in the next few months too. Got my vinyl already preordered
Would personally recommend Blue Dream off of Tree City Sessions 2. Can listen to the original if you want to hear their original singer. Both are amazing
You guys need to do evaporate, and variation by these guys. They are 2 songs that have amazing complexity and so much laying. Happy I found you guys. New sub here.
If you love hearing Jon and Tilian's vocals overlap as much as I do, I really recommend their song Chucky vs the giant tortoise, it's one of my favourites and was especially fun to see live since their voices just go so well together (plus their highs just give me goosebumps no matter what)
"Siren songs can pull you under" so these dudes are wild. john mess, the screamer, and tillian the singer both have solo work. tillian is an incredibly talented "pop-y" type artist with really good catchy songs. john mess on the other hand is like if you watch a season of squidbillies while youre on acid and then write music about it while watching a 90s movie about graffiti artists. and you really should experience that.
This is a song that I wish I could listen to for the first time again. This song is a Rollercoaster ride for sure. The tree city sessions live version is the best version of this song. But glad you guys got this one in.
I really think you would love the vocals/lyrics of "Turn Off the Lights I'm Watching Back to the Future Pt 2" off their Acceptance Speech 2.0 album... It's that even mix of Jon Mess and Tilian and Tilians parts are all nostalgic and hits deep with your emotions... Jon Mess's part is well... Jon Mess lol... The instrumentals are insane for that song too... I think you guys would really appreciate that song to really hear Tilians range and how much his parts are really just him flexing his vocal cords lol
I Fucking LOOVVEEE watching y’all react to hearing these DGD songs for the first time. It’s almost as if I’m living vicariously through you and hearing these songs for the first time; AGAIN and I’m all about it haha! The vocals/lyrics are a HUGE part of this bands aesthetic. But since you guys seem to really appreciate the music just as much, DGD releases straight instrumental versions of every one of their albums, typically a few months after the initial release and even those are a WHOLE other experience, being able to hear/pick up on certain parts of the instrumentals, that maybe you weren’t able to pick up on before with the vocals layered on top. They’re all on Spotify(I’m sure they’re uploaded somewhere on here as well) and y’all should DEFINITELY give those a listen. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE keep going through the DGD catalog(mainly the Tillian era lol). I would love to continue this journey with y’all haha!
Maybe in memory of Tim, you guys could check out what I consider to be one of his best bass lines. On the Run has insane bass tracking in it and it’s a super under rated song.
You guys should do inspire the liars next. One of my top 5 favorite songs of all time. Also Man of the Year Tree city sessions 2 shows off their vocals live and just how good the two of them are.
You should react to, Mutual Fear(ft. Jon Mess) from the album The Architect by Eidola. Eidola is Andrew Wells' band, the rhythm guitarist in DGD in which he is the lead singer. If you like it you should definitely listen to Caustic Prayer or any of the singles they have videos for.
I'm cool with the Lyric videos moving forward. It'll definitely help. They really do have great lines. If you guys check out Inspire the Liars please use the lyric video for that one.
Yall need to listen to variation, carve, and philosopher king... tim contributed big on those songs and i think yall would be amazed by those particular songs. Rip Tim
Rest in Peace to their bassist Tim, passed away Thursday. Great musician, legend in the game.
Omg no way! I loved his bass lines and how he just grooved with them! Damn rip.
Siren songs can pull you under. Like the old tales of mermaids(aka sirens) luring sailors in with their beautiful songs & pulling sailors off of ships into the water drowning them.
It's also a play on the words alarmed and siren - "dont be alarmed to discover, siren songs can pull you under"
@@oshke5225 Tilian is fire
@@oshke5225 damn I got the first meaning but I didn't even catch that one. Noce
Inspire the Liars or Prisoner should be your next choice with this band. Prisoner is off their most recent album and Inspire the Liars is off the same album as Man of the Year. Both some of their most popular and best
Absolutely agree. If they liked the switch up here they’d love these two specifically.
Definitely recommend both. Prisoner is more vibey, while Inspire The Liars is more intense, groovy and emotional
I like every single album but I can't help but be obsessed with Philosopher King and Son of a Robot
Just a heads up, the lyrics are usually in the video descriptions if you guys ever need to look at them. But he says "Siren songs can pull you under."
Also I understand that this song is very hard to digest on the first listen.

Really appreciate the love. We definitely do our best to hear everything and enjoy a song in full. Sometimes we are a bit talkative, but it's because we love music.
Tilian and Jon are one of my favorite vocalist duos in the entire music world, they compliment each other so damn well.
Nice reaction folks!
How are you doing
tilian's high smooth vocals can also be low and raspy, while non can be low and raspy while also going high and more smooth screams. they compliment so well. that's why im not a huge fan of andrew and jon combo
Would love for you guys to do more Dance Gavin Dance stuff!
Now you gotta watch the live version regardless of recording a reaction or not.. the live version is something else….
Fr dude, this song is almost haunting live, especially the tree city live recording with the way they open it
4:21 it’s ‘Siren Songs’! Like the sirens that would lure you into the ocean to drown
Kyles face when jon jumped in in the beginning was the best 😂 perfectly represents the feeling jon inflicts on all of us
Time to watch this song live. Tree city sessions 2. Tis perfection💋👌
I prefer it to the album version, by far.
no man can make standard tuning sound as heavy as Will Swan
So damn happy you're checking out more of DGD! They're one of my all time favorite bands. Their song "Count Bassy" is an underrated classic IMHO.
Count Bassy is a banger fr
Reminds me too much of my ex or I’d listen to it more 😢
You have to hear Man Of The Year live!!! It sounds so amazing!!!! I absolutely love this band! && he said “siren songs can pull you under”
You guys rewind the hell out of these DGD songs. I'm here for it
I can just feel the love you two have for music as a whole the vibes are absolutely immaculate much respect ❤🤜🤛
Im glad the patreon suggested this BUT they shoulda suggested this PLUS the Tree City Sessions 2 version. It was a virtual concert they did from the Tower Bridge in their hometown of Sacramento. Check it out.

Condolences for your loss, I can't imagine the pain
Siren's songs, as in the mythical creature. The opening is a sort of play on a sea shanty. them leaving on tour is "setting sail".
One of the best ever. Anyone with an individual mind finds this beautiful.
Midnight Crusade is an absolute BANGER.
Seeing people react to this song is the greatest thing in the world
They each write their own parts, which is crazy because it all works together so well.
You guys need to do evaporate, and variation by these guys. They are 2 songs that have amazing complexity and so much laying. Happy I found you guys. New sub here.
“I want those glasses dude.”
Nice to see you followed through on that. 😂
Hahaha I'll get more eventually
It’s “Siren songs can pull you under” like Sirens pulling seafarers below sea.
If you love hearing Jon and Tilian's vocals overlap as much as I do, I really recommend their song Chucky vs the giant tortoise, it's one of my favourites and was especially fun to see live since their voices just go so well together (plus their highs just give me goosebumps no matter what)
RIP TIM
Saw them live earlier this year and going to see them live again in July. Fun live band.
Tree sessions 2 Evaporate just fills my soul. The Andrew wells is immaculate.
The sunglasses Eric has on are the same as the ones Jon Mess of DGD wears in the new Synergy video
it gives me the tug of war mental game when they go at one another mid song.
"Siren songs" lol
"Siren songs can pull you under"

Also it's siren songs... the song has a sea shanty vibe along with the whole pull you under line that follows it immediately lol
Imagine just listening to dance gavin dance and you try to understand their lyrics lol
the rabbit whole this starts is so fun lol
I’ve been so lucky to see this song live and I s2g I’ve never been so hype at a concert
Yes this is by far my favorite song of theirs!
this song is a fucking banger. Rip Tim
Favourite song of all time

Midnight Crusade is my favorite song by DGD, another killer video btw🤙
Love the way you guys react to these lads. Would like to see you check out older albums Like Downtown Battle Mountain (1 or 2) and Happiness
Also Eric is gonna end up wearing Jon's TCS2 suit soon enough
Ima see them live for the first time in 8 years in Sacramento. So fucking hype yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeah boi.
RIP Tim Feerick
You should listen to the Tree city sessions 2 version of this, it almost the same song but they do it just a bit better.
Eric Legit went and got himself Jon's glasses from the Synergy video. Hell yeah!
Welcome to Swancore friends.
R.I.P Tim
IMO This is their best song so far
Maybe in memory of Tim, you guys could check out what I consider to be one of his best bass lines. On the Run has insane bass tracking in it and it’s a super under rated song.
This song kicks so much ass live!
Need to check out the Tree city session 2 where they did a livestream of this song
you guys have the best dgd reactions haha
we need a "deception" reaction asap
Oh man, should have reacted to the live version of this! It’s incredible!!!!
Check out either of their tree city sessions. The second one has this, and its live on a bridge 😍😍😍
I'll die on this hill that i'm about to make.
This is Tillian's best track.
Man of the Year is an absolute fucking masterpiece - definitely check out the Tree City Sessions 2 version. Great reaction, guys!!
ALSO that a HUGE challis dude hahah
I want the big beer
Wolf blood is an amazing song by them as well
You guys should do inspire the liars next. One of my top 5 favorite songs of all time. Also Man of the Year Tree city sessions 2 shows off their vocals live and just how good the two of them are.

if y'all want lyrics that make sense you'll have a bad time with Jon Mess hahah
Chucky is my fave by DGD!
I love how silly and nonsensical his lyrics are sometimes but they still hit 🔥🔥
One of my favorite songs but to be that guy the line is “Siren songs can pull you under”
Mad props to John Mess for his unclean vocals, man's a legend.
That fucking beer glass lol
I love the album this song is on so much

Yall need to listen to variation, carve, and philosopher king... tim contributed big on those songs and i think yall would be amazed by those particular songs. Rip Tim
If you don't think this is a 10/10 masterpiece of a composition, you need to get yourself checked.
