If you can call Hank selfish you haven't listened to his songs. As far as how he could write such God fearing songs, Hank knew the Bible and loved Jesus. THAT my friend, comes out loud and clear in his gospel songs!
From his earliest recording in 1938 to the day of his last show, 14 years, he recorded almost six hundred songs. One of the most prolific writers and performers ever.
Most defently the king of country music. But those early hymnals are the greatest songs I think I've ever heard. He was a good kid . God bless u hank sr. RIP bro.
I can honestly say that it was Hank's heartfelt gospel that help me keep my faith for so long. For so long I lived in sin, and in my most desperate moments I'd pull up "Build me a cabin" or "When God dips his love in my heart" and Id keep going. Life is a struggle and we all make mistakes. When we are removed from God redemption seems impossible. I know Hank wasn't a perfect man, but if anyone has had the experiences I've had, then I believe that well after his death, he has saved many souls. God bless ole Hank.
I don't think will ever be a great singer song writer I don't even care people say George Jones he just lived longer than Hank Sr thats all there turning up songs that were hidden for what 40 yrs now there just finding them. God bless Happy Fathers Day Hank
He put so much emotion in his music... I know he died young but his songs sound like he's lived a full life... and some of them make me cry they are so sad..
@docsavage98 yup sure was as Uncle Dave Macon was considered a legend to many Country Singers at that time.. Hank sang " let the spirit descend" live on the Grand ole opry in honor of Uncle Dave on 3/22/1952 after Uncle Dave passed away earlier that day..
Superb song...mind blowing choice lyrics and Hank sings them like no other can...packed with emotion, feelings & humanitarianism...just out of this world. Just tugs at one's heart strings!
Well folks, the most of today`s country suck, but Hank`s grandchild Hank Williams III is recomended. I think he is the greatest country artist around nowadays. Check him out
Glenn Johnson WOW.Another of Hanks i have never heard. What a goldmine and i thought i had most of his recordings. There will never be another like him though i have been inspired by his music.
The Good Samaritan offered two day's pay and then promised the innkeeper that he would return and make everything even. Complete. Fulfilled. Fully Reckoned. Nothing left to chance.
you have done me a great favour as it is tough to buy Hank's music and this one like all his other songs is a poignant beauty. that voice sure tugs at my heart. thank you .
Loved his music for years and always will. I hope someday to own every known recording of his. I have most of them. I don’t care if it’s a song that he made a dozen or so different recordings of the same song, or the sound quality is not the best, I still want it. I don’t care if he was singing, “Your Cheating Heart “, and burped in the middle of the song, I would still like to have a copy of it. He was the greatest Country Singer and Songwriter of all time. Long live his memory and music.
hank mustve nearly lived in a studio to record such a broad catalog of music.+ all the luke the drifter material.a busy man indeed.he was probably mentally & physically exausted by his late 20s.no wonder he wasnt able to live thru it all.
Great stuff..love your site...i live near his last stop out side of chattanooga where they ate and got gas..lived within a stones throw of there for 20 years and am investigating what happened in his last 48 hours ..guess what?..looks like he picked up poison whiskey in fort payne..I have the woman whose father gave it to him,,she knows the store and the time..she's pentecostal and didn't know it was important...When did he get beat up? I'm trying to find out...it's getting crazy!
Luke 10:30 -36 In reply Jesus said: “A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, when he was attacked by robbers. They stripped him of his clothes, beat him and went away, leaving him half dead. A priest happened to be going down the same road, and when he saw the man, he passed by on the other side. So too, a Levite, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side. But a Samaritan, as he traveled, came where the man was; and when he saw him, he took pity on him. 34 He went to him and bandaged his wounds, pouring on oil and wine. Then he put the man on his own donkey, brought him to an inn and took care of him. The next day he took out two denarii and gave them to the innkeeper. ‘Look after him,’ he said, ‘and when I return, I will reimburse you for any extra expense you may have.’“Which of these three do you think was a neighbor to the man who fell into the hands of robbers?”
Yes this is in the bible and here it church several times . I pray that God has for given Hank . He had a problem , and believe it was something about his wife , that drove him to drink. It is in many of his songs .
I can’t help but feel the journey is within. How can one be there for another when we struggle to be there for ourselves! How can one be a neighbour when ones not kind and true within
The difference between Judaism & Christianity is that myself who must perform not 10 but 613 of the Holy God's commandments & we know its the reason for our soul coming here in this body, space & time to serve God,still at the Judgement of my soul I,not being the Supreme Judge cannot tell you where I will go.Am I the criminal, police & judge all in 1? You not only are sure of a 50 yardline ticket 1st row when the St. come marching in,but you have judged your RUclips neighbor? Not your job.
Hey guys! I'm curious about something. Was Hank Williams christian? Does he accepted Jesus as Savior and Lord? I'm asking because I'm not North American and I couldn't Found any complete biography about him. Thank you.
Yes , he most certainly was born again , long before he had a bad rodeo accident , ruining that career That is why he started singing and writing songs , his back was in constant pain , back in a time when medicine could do little for the back . Cousin Minnie Pearle spoke about Hank's christian life-style once , long ago .
Don't u understand, its not what is said ... its whats in our soul, .. God is the judge. We All Pay Our Fair. All Be next to u , and U me , I,m doomed ... But , I'll be standing next to that man , Hank.. How many people has he brought to christ.
On what grounds do you make that judgement? Seeing as you approved of his Christian message, it's not very Christian-like to judge based on what little you know of his life.
Respect from China. Brilliant genius!
My wounded soul feels better when I listen to Hank
Hank can run cold chills up and down your spine with his songs and hesitations.
In an earlier comment I meant to say hesitations excuse the mistake.
Still making the same misprint
If you can call Hank selfish you haven't listened to his songs. As far as how he could write such God fearing songs, Hank knew the Bible and loved Jesus. THAT my friend, comes out loud and clear in his gospel songs!
78 YEARS OLD HE IS BEST OF THEM ALL THANK GOD FOR HANK
That's true oh so true
29 and your damn right
From his earliest recording in 1938 to the day of his last show, 14 years, he recorded almost six hundred songs. One of the most prolific writers and performers ever.
I believe Jones recorded over 1000 (if you include all the various versions he did of the same song). Of course, he had more time than Hank did.
Way way ahead of his time. A master of his art.
Coop68 He lived longer to do that though
Hank was an old soul. His lyrics are as if he had lived a lifetime and yet he was only 29 when he died. Amazing
@@thebreeze9361 thank you for these words. They touch my heart.

I can honestly say that it was Hank's heartfelt gospel that help me keep my faith for so long. Wasn't this originally recorded by Uncle Dave Macon back in the 1920's?
