I remember Christine and Kody at the beach stacking rocks as a marriage counseling exercise. Christine was focusing on them as a couple but Kody kept blowing her off to focus on the family. Kody's problems with Christine go way beyond Truely's illness (and Kody WAS negligent). I think Ysabel's surgery was the last straw for Christine and she gave up. Janelle is still trying.
@Liz, if I recall correctly, Kody was watching the kids while the wives were away. The older daughters were telling Kody that Truely was sick but he didn't pay attention. Christine came home and found Truely severely ill. Rushed her to the hospital where she was found to be severely dehydrated and in kidney failure. For a time, they weren't sure she'd survive.

I tried the wiping down and sanitizing everything that walked through the door when this whole thing started. That lasted about a week. Unsustainable!! I would need a Nanny to watch my dogs to keep that up. Robin and Kody have been spotted shopping without masks. I doubt they are following the rules anymore and are just making a big deal to the other wives so he can be with Just Robin. I find Kody very abusive to Janelle, Christine and Meri and treats his children with horrible disregard for their well being. I hope they all move on and be happy.
yes and that was only the expert advice at the very beginning in March and April of 2020. After that. they did more studies and found it it's not really necessary. So if this was filmed in early 2020 then it might make sense. If they were filming it later and then he's still forcing those rules, then he is just using it as an excuse to not see the other wives.
At the beginning of the p*ndemic, we put the mail on a screened porch for 24 hours, left monperishable groceries in rhe bags for a day, etc. I recall that it was pretty quickly determined that spread was not via surface contact and everyone stopped doing those things.
I think the rules were a facade to be able to stay away from all the other wives except Robyn. IF Robyn had been following these rules of dumb dumb she wouldn't have thought twice about sanitizing Janelle's gift. Also, PermaKody (this may have been in last weeks episode) but when Meri asked why she was just hearing of the rules and had been doing all of it so why she had been kept away from Robyn, he just ignores it. I think this season I’m seeing Janelle in a totally different light. She’s standing up to Kody and putting her children’s needs first. She admits that her kids have a strong bond with Christine because she was out working while Christine was raising the children. A bond like that is life long.

Thank you for the additional update. I was shocked when he brought up Truly. I actually went back and watched the episode Truly got sick. I think it was "Browns in Crisis". Truly got sick while all the wives were away and just Kody was in charge of the kids. I can see the point he is trying to make..... But at this point he is just grasping at straws. He would rather die on this mountain "the rules" than admit he was wrong. He would rather destroy his family than take responsibility that he has been problem....

What Kody said about his sons being kicked out reminds me of that polygamy sect that kicks out boys at 18 because they don’t want competition from the boys. They are called “Lost Boys”. It is extremely negligent of them to withhold and delay medical care because they don’t have insurance. It would be one thing if they had no insurance and met the children’s needs, but they don’t. He especially try’s to delay medical attention, seemingly because of the cost. It’s absolutely negligent. I went so far as to say it was abusive to wantonly delay Ysabels necessary surgery.

About Kody’s comments about Christine blaming him over Truly - if I remember correctly Christine had to be away a few days leaving Kody& her older children in charge. Truly was up and down could tell she wasn’t feel well, the kids would tell Kody but he felt she wasn’t seriously sick. When Christine came back she noticed a downhill slide and took her to emergency. So I think he thinks she blames him for not thinking Truly’s condition was more serious.
I just watched that episode this weekend and she and the sister wives where in Cali and truly got sick the last couple of days. They let Christina know and when she got hime the next day she took her to the dr and they said it was the flu. 5 days later is when she was showing neurological symptoms and Christina took her back in and they sent her to the ER. So it really wasn’t anyone’s fault if anything the dr. Who saw her the first time messed up

It is in my opinion that Cody started being careful naturally, like we all did in the spring of 2020. BUT, it’s become his way to test boundaries with his wives and children AND establish/gauge control. The more his family members pushed, the harder he pushed back. In the end, his solo interviews were ALL about him. “I have sacrificed, I am the saint worrying about everyone”…THEN “the kids have shown they don’t want to be with ME/my wife has shown I AM NOT IMPORTANT!” Ugh. I think the rules are a facade. He created those rules simply to reestablish his control over the family. For years the women have been gaining a sense of independence and because of this the children follow their lead. Kody wants to be seen in a way where nothing he’s says is reprehensible.

I tried the wiping down and sanitizing everything that walked through the door when this whole thing started. That lasted about a week. Unsustainable!! I would need a Nanny to watch my dogs to keep that up.

yes and that was only the expert advice at the very beginning in March and April of 2020. After that. they did more studies and found it it's not really necessary. So if this was filmed in early 2020 then it might make sense. If they were filming it later and then he's still forcing those rules, then he is just using it as an excuse to not see the other wives.
At the beginning of the p*ndemic, we put the mail on a screened porch for 24 hours, left monperishable groceries in rhe bags for a day, etc. I recall that it was pretty quickly determined that spread was not via surface contact and everyone stopped doing those things.

I think the rules were a facade to be able to stay away from all the other wives except Robyn. IF Robyn had been following these rules of dumb dumb she wouldn't have thought twice about sanitizing Janelle's gift. Also, PermaKody (this may have been in last weeks episode) but when Meri asked why she was just hearing of the rules and had been doing all of it so why she had been kept away from Robyn, he just ignores it. I think this season I’m seeing Janelle in a totally different light. She’s standing up to Kody and putting her children’s needs first. She admits that her kids have a strong bond with Christine because she was out working while Christine was raising the children. A bond like that is life long.

Thank you for the additional update. I was shocked when he brought up Truly. I actually went back and watched the episode Truly got sick. I think it was "Browns in Crisis". Truly got sick while all the wives were away and just Kody was in charge of the kids. I can see the point he is trying to make..... But at this point he is just grasping at straws. What Kody said about his sons being kicked out reminds me of that polygamy sect that kicks out boys at 18 because they don’t want competition from the boys. They are called “Lost Boys”. It is extremely negligent of them to withhold and delay medical care because they don’t have insurance. It would be one thing if they had no insurance and met the children’s needs, but they don’t. He especially try’s to delay medical attention, seemingly because of the cost. It’s absolutely negligent. I went so far as to say it was abusive to wantonly delay Ysabels necessary surgery.

About Kody’s comments about Christine blaming him over Truly - if I remember correctly Christine had to be away a few days leaving Kody& her older children in charge. Truly was up and down could tell she wasn’t feel well, the kids would tell Kody but he felt she wasn’t seriously sick. When Christine came back she noticed a downhill slide and took her to emergency. So I think he thinks she blames him for not thinking Truly’s condition was more serious.
I just watched that episode this weekend and she and the sister wives where in Cali and truly got sick the last couple of days. They let Christina know and when she got hime the next day she took her to the dr and they said it was the flu. 5 days later is when she was showing neurological symptoms and Christina took her back in and they sent her to the ER. So it really wasn’t anyone’s fault if anything the dr. Who saw her the first time messed up

As part of a family with 50/50 custody of the kids I can say rules are different at both homes. However, neither home would allow those differences keep us from our kids! This is awful of Kody!
It is in my opinion that Cody started being careful naturally, like we all did in the spring of 2020. BUT, it’s become his way to test boundaries with his wives and children AND establish/gauge control. The more his family members pushed, the harder he pushed back.
In the end, his solo interviews were ALL about him. “I have sacrificed, I am the saint worrying about everyone”…THEN “the kids have shown they don’t want to be with ME/my wife has shown I AM NOT IMPORTANT!”
