They admitted to doing it behind his back and he was disgusted by it. I’m not a fan of his fiscal policies but he’s one of the few straight shooters on his side of the aisle.
The only other supposed scandal was when he and his wife were on lounge chairs on the beach during the COVID lockdowns but in fact that was their own backyard at their beach house that they bought now their only residence but then being used on weekends while he was serving his last term as governor. They bought it in his last nine months in office to retire in since his children left for college.

There's no reason for him to raise his hand at all in that moment. The reality is he looked over to his left and saw the other candidates raising their hands, and he tried to play both sides of the field.
