Single parent here, I’ve been grocery shopping on for more than half my life here, trust me when I say inflation especially the cost of rent and groceries is bad. We’re not talking about it enough. And I’m not making much more than I used to…..
related to this, I heard Noam Chomsky say minimum wage would be $40/hour (inflation adjusted) if it'd kept up with 1970's trends... another source article: "Minimum Wage Would Be $44 Today If It Had Kept Pace With Wall Street Bonuses Since 1985"
The notion put forth by William Shatner and supported by Bill Maher regarding rising salaries requires closer examination. While their opinions are noteworthy, it's imperative to acknowledge the limitations of anecdotal evidence in understanding economic trends. The claim overlooks marginalized groups like gig economy workers and long-term discouraged job seekers, who often face stagnant wages or precarious employment. This oversight distorts the true picture of wage dynamics and perpetuates a fallacy of overall prosperity. Therefore, while Shatner and Maher may offer their perspectives, it's crucial to scrutinize such claims with empirical data and consider alternative viewpoints to avoid oversimplification and misrepresentation of economic realities.

No denying it. William Shatner is going where no man has gone before.
You have just got to love that Man...anyone that goes to a small town, and uses Hollywood influence to get pampered because "they are gonna make a movie in town, but you are making a documentary about it" is such a brilliant concept that he gets my vote as BRILLIANT!!! God love William Shatner.
Mr. Shatner should do stand up. The guy is a natural comedian. He has definitely reinvented himself over his 70 yr career.
Thanks for a great time this week. The perfect mix of guests and as usual Shatner shatnered us all. As a fellow canuck, good day eh, Captain Kirk
Single parent here, I’ve been grocery shopping on for more than half my life here, trust me when I say inflation especially the cost of rent and groceries is bad. We’re not talking about it enough. And I’m not making much more than I used to…..
Inflation is just another form of taxation on the middle and lower classes. It doesn’t affect the rich
It's not inflation. It's 100% corporate greed.
Its not inflation when grocery chains profits are through the roof, while inflation has gone down, prices have not.
related to this, I heard Noam Chomsky say minimum wage would be $40/hour (inflation adjusted) if it'd kept up with 1970's trends... another source article: "Minimum Wage Would Be $44 Today If It Had Kept Pace With Wall Street Bonuses Since 1985"
@@ytubeanon yet another way the rich keep the poor impoverished: give them just enough to keep them complacent, but still enslaved.
"They taste different". Shatner is a legend.
That's amazing!!! What a chemistry!!!
William Shatner is one of my favorite actors growing up......plus in a Trekkie!! He's always been funny 🤣🤣🤣💯
Best thing about bill maher?
William Shatner. Absolute Legend
Bill Shatner's sense of humor and presence of mind at this age is truly impressive and incisive!
William Shatner is a total icon and living legend. The people ❤ him. He’s great.
I haven’t felt so good in years!! Thank you Mr. Shatter!!
Shatner
great hilarious overtime show ..loved this one with William Shatner
that's the best overtime i've seen in a long time. God! I laughed I cried, thank you Bills.
BTW great tour name for you guys: the Pay Your Bills Tour
Bill Maher comedy kicks it off
then Shatner spoken word songs with Springsteen-style stories
And a fantastic finale with both entertainers speak-singing comedy over classic songs
climaxing with a seven minute epic "Rocket Man" with Maher and Shatner arguing over private space programs.
Then to not end on a bad note, they come out and hug, teddybear to teddybear
3 sets with 10 minute breaks, building to a delicious climax. $150 a head to sold out crowds at mid sized venues. The press writes itself. I want a point for the pitch
O Captain! My Captain! William Shatner being legendary is what I needed tonight!
Excellent overtime! Great guests!
My first laughs today. And I’ve been up since 8. Thank you Bill Shatner.
I could listen to Bill Shatner all day long.
