Great introduction video! I am a Cardiology Nurse Navigator with an MSN. I been tabbed to apply for this position by a new CNO. It would be my first position requiring a MSN. I’m thrilled for that, but have concerns. My current position gives me a lot of autonomy; I have authority over my process but work almost alone in my role. It’s been 4 years. This isolation is not new to me as I was a mechanical engineer of sorts (Tool & Die Designer) in the past. I found your comment on the lack of authority interesting. Can you elaborate a little more on that. Also, How long did it take to really get a sense of the breath of the responsibility of the job; it seems titanic. Did you have a daily process which achieve your weekly, monthly and quarterly goals? What did your day look like?
Lastly, the DNP is an interesting tidbit… Back to school? Oh no!!
    Again, great introduction video!! Thanks!!

Thanks for your channel, I’ve been away from the bedside for many years as you have, it was encouraging to listen to you, I’m applying now for RN positions and hoping something will open up soon, I’m nervous but hopeful, keep posting videos 😊

Thank you for your comment! Are you doing an RN refresher course or jumping back in? I didn’t have to do a refresher because my license didn’t lapse, but I know it is required for some. Als, what specialty/area are you searching for?

@@lisachappell9387 my license has always been active, recently been involved in volunteer free Health clinics until covid hit. Looking for work in same day surgery , OB and Public Health, these are areas where I have past experience,

Not doing RN refresher, …logistics/location not feasible right now. Is there one you would recommend?

@@valriewhite5484 Hi! Personally, I am taking a digital course just to brush up from FreshRN. It is helping a lot. Otherwise, since my license hasn’t lapsed, I would rather get paid to learn in orientation than pay to take a refresher.

Have you been involved with Magnet? Magnet Champion? Magnet Program Director or involved in a Site Visit? What is your experience with Magnet and what do you think about it?
