Lots of their covers are playful and humorous - but even when they are making us laugh the musicality is dead serious. Bet you'd like their medley "Queen in 5 Minutes."

Geoff Castellucci, the bass, also did the arrangement. Genius!

Bravery taking on a Metallica song a capella, but they did it - skillfully, respectfully and fantastically!! Voiceplay covers many genres, but their rock songs hold a very special place in my heart and on my playlist 😉.
From left to right: Geoff Castelucci (Bass extraordinaire - but also 5-octave man - he did the arrangement for this one), J None (Baritone, former member of VP, still used as a featured artist when he comes to visit - he sings in/for the Navy now), Eli (Eliezer) Jacobson (Tenor - but also has an insane range - has a wonderful "Rock" voice), Cesar de la Rosa (Baritone - but also has a crazy range - latest/youngest member of VP), Layne Stein (Beatboxer, another crazy range man + he does many of their arrangements).
They are the "theatre" kids of a capella - if you go down this rabbit hole you will see what we mean by that 😋.
They are also independent, so they do almost everything themselves.
Talent / talent and more talent...
    Thanks for the reaction!!
PS: Choose your genre, choose your song - they do it all - and they never disappoint!

Voiceplay is stupid good! Vocals always top-tier but they still manage to entertain and often are just plain fun.

I am a huge fan of VoicePlay and their bass Geoff Castellucci (Long Hair) #TheatreKidsOfACapella they never disappoint. Geoff has his own channel and does low-bass covers. J. None is a former member who joined to sing for the Navy in 2021. He still comes back on leave to do videos with the boys. Will subscribe for more VoicePlay or Geoff Castellucci.

Voiceplay always pays homage to the original, but will never do a copycat version. Geoff has said, Why do something that someone else has done?
Voiceplay is a five man group, short one man for the last three years. They draw from a variety of friends to collaborate with them. J None was on leave when they did the Phil Collins classic, In the Air Tonight. You will love it.
Subscribed in anticipation of more Voiceplay!

    Welcome to Voiceplay's (and Geoff's... 😁) rabbit hole(s). 🙂
These guys have lots of different faces to their singing. Rock classics (and this is not the only one...), games soundtracks (if you're into games, you should definitely check out "The Dragonborn comes - Skyrim" and "Halo theme" (which was praised by the very author of it, who said it's the best version of the theme he heard - INCLUDING HIS OWN!)... This last one has a long, spoken outro that I always advice to watch and listen to, as it's a piece of their story (they started in 1997 under the name 4:2:5) and a window on their human beings side. If you like Vikings, they've covered "My Mother told me" and "Valhalla calling", again praised by the author, Miracle of Sound, with "10 raised alehorns out of 10" for the most original cover of his song. You like Broadway? No problem, they covered "Phantom of the Opera", "Wicked medley", "The greatest show medley"... Ah, no, you're into classic, kinda "romantic" songs? "I can't help falling in love", "True Colors", "I can't make you love me"... Disney? All of them have Disney background, and worked in either Disney or Universal theme parks... They've got lots of Disney stuff, including "We don't talk about Bruno". They even covered classical, "In the hall of the Mountain King", an instrumental from Edvard Grieg's "Peer Gynt" that they turned into a super creative "storytelling without words" hilarious, troll-ish story. And maybe I didn't mention that they OWN Halloween... 😅.
Subscribed in anticipation for more of them and Geoff, the bass, who has his own channel filled with incredibly good content 🙂. Try his version of "Far over the Misty Mountains cold" and "I see fire", both from the Hobbit trilogy. And remember it's always only him... digitally cloned into 4 or 5 "Geoffs", each one with his name, voice and character. 😉
    See you next time!

VoicePlay are an a capella group but in a league of their own, taking on songs you wouldn't imagine done a capella, and often with a very theatrical style. Hence the "play" in the name. They cover a wide variety of genres with brilliant and unique arrangments. Geoff, the bass, has his own channel of low bass covers. He's one of the main arrangers in VP and does amazing ones on his own. Welcome to the magic!

Awesome reaction to Voiceplay and Geoff Castelucci. They are 2nd to none in the Acapella world in my opinion.
    Check out Valhalla Calling.

Great reaction!! They did a cover of Phil Collins' "In The Air Tonight" and it's fantastic. I think you'd enjoy that one. ❤

Sir, on the far left you find Geoff Castelucci, baritone with one of the deepest bass in the industry but 5 octaves (no joke) He and Lane are last of the founding members of Voiceplay. Next is J. None, former member and well liked guest Tenor to baritone, he is in the choir of the Navy in Washington DC. Middle is Eli (like jelly without the j) Jaclobson ,first tenor and all around nice human, who sang lead in different Rockbands.
second from the right is Cesar de la Rosa second tenor to deep baritone, and all around fun for the band. Far Right is Laney Stein the vocal Percussionist, Violinist and a lot of other things too.
    Be safe sir.
    Elmar from Germany

Dragonborn Comes Skyrim, Halo theme (both from video games), Hoist the Colours (Pirates of the Caribbean), Drunken Sailor, Hellfire (Hunchback of Notre Dame), Queen in 5 Minutes, Boy Bands in 5 Minutes, We're Good (Dua Lipa).

Wonderful reaction. VoicePlay are just one of the big 3 of A Capella. Another you have already discovered, Pentatonix. The third is Home Free. While the first to seem to have really gotten your attention. The third might not be a style that you generally listen to. They are more Country. Still you should at least give them a chance. One that might suit your usual taste would be their "Butts Remix". It is more of a mash-up or a medly than just a straight cover of a song, it also happens to be them just having a lot of fun. Another one of theirs that is where a lot of people make their start down the Home Free rabbit hole is "Man of Constant Sarrow". Give them a listen at the very least. Weather or not you like it after that do a quick search on RUclips for "Adam Rupp Drum Solo". Adam is the beat boxer for Home Free. There are at least three different videos from different concerts where he shows off his skills. The man is not human.
After having a look through your catalog of reactions. I might have a few others to add to your growing list of songs to check out. First will be one song that has been covered many times. "The Sound of Silence" First done by Simon & Garfunkel in 1964. Then the hard rock/metal group Disturbed did a cover in 2015. Pentatonix released their cover in 2019. Lastly Geoff Castellucci, the man with the amazing bass voice in VoicePlay, released his cover earlier this year.
There are so many good songs to recommend still I don't know where to start. I'll have a think on this and get back to you. What I have given you, along with a lot of other people, should keep you busy for the time being. Looking forward to what ever rabbit hole you dive into next. Have fun enjoy the music.
