Loved Franny, I had a lifesize picture of him over my bed. I went straight from school to watch them bring the European cup winners cup back

@4;15 "Only saw him as a diver" Franny wasn't a diver, he would run directly at defenders who couldn't cope with him. The ONLY time he dived was in the derby in '71 when he demonstrated to the referee that Best had dived. Alf Ramsey didn't pick him for the all important Poland game at Wembley, Franny would have made the difference in that game as the Polish defenders were terrified of him.

Loved Frannie. I think unfortunately it went wrong when he sacked Brian Horton and appointed Alan Ball as Manager which was disastrous. Always a little disappointed when talk of that time and no mention of Neil Young who was crucial to City's success at the time.

Francis Lee was a pocket battleship , his playing style was to crouch over the ball , so defenders had to foul him ?, hence the " Lee One Pen " title .

with all due respect ian, he didnt try to do the right thing, he destroyed city, he was in it for himself, i idoliised him as a kid, but despised him later in life

Got to disagree mate, Peter Swales made the worst decisions for our club.

@@rayvinloony2322 swales loved city, he made a lot of terrible decisions ie bringing allison back, but he always put the money up when needed, and we were a giant of a club when he was there, franny lee turned us into a minnow

I agree Swales loved City, and he had the best interests of the club at heart, but he also had interests with the F.A. which took his eye off the ball.
He refused to walk in spite of all the demonstrations, he should have respected the supporters instead of clinging on to a dream he could no longer fulfil.

@@rayvinloony2322 to be fair neither of them did anything good for city, but i had more sympathy for swales, i knew his heart was in the right place, lee was all about the money, selling all our best players, ie flitcroft and lomas, when we were in a relegation battle and replacing the with dross, dont even like talkiing about him, it still maes my blood boil lol
