Thanks Pal. Having a battery issue with our little A2…….can’t seem to get to the bottom of it. If it’s not run every couple of days it sulks and won’t start…………forgot how to open the boot it’s been that long……..appreciate the vid
Lol, bought mine in 2002, struggled many times climbing around to change battery's via back seats (like a game of twister). Audio should have marked it better. It wasn't till 2014 that I found this little leaver and saved my back. Lol Good video :)
I used the information from your video today to open my boot/tailgate! Thanks! I’m no IT specialist but maybe it’s worth adding Tailgate in the title to aid people in their search for this info and possibly gain you more views.
Nice one, I did do this many years ago when I 1st got my a2. Got info off a2oc website but I'd forgotten all about it cause car is so reliable. Thanks keep your knowledge coming 👍
this tip saved me during the pandemic when the battery went flat. Eventually, the plastic cable snapped out. Do you have any tips about how to replace it? many thanks for considering my request.
Hi Diego. Glad it helped you out. I’ve had this happen before also and the only thing you can do is pull off the boot trim and install a new cable or cord/string.
I think indeed you were!!! Thank you to you Mian and to all the others that have subscribed. It may seem like a small achievement to some but I am very grateful as I never thought I would get here!
Hi, have you had any experience with a deadlock on these cars? I managed to open 3 doors except for drivers. fob doesn't work, key in the door seem to make a sound as if trying to unlock it but it doesn't, everytime I power the car it makes the same sound but doesn't unlock it, same with internal door lock buttons, internal or external handles also can't unlock it. I just managed to get back home, locked the car by fob, heard strange sound, and that was it.
Hi. Thanks for this. However manual boot release from inside isn't working, maybe seized? Do you have any knowledge on what to connect to under the bonnet, in order to jump start from there? (I know it's possible with some cars). Cheers.
I presume you can get inside the car. If so simply take out the rear seats (I show this in my interior clean video) and should have access to attach jump leads in the rear directly and this will then allow you enough juice to open the boot normally and re arrange with proper access.
If the car is not deadlocked pull the back door handle when in the front and it should open. You will then get access. If all else fails get one of the cigarette lighter chargers. It won’t take much to power the boot. I’ll keep looking for another answer too. Let me know how you get on. MrB
@@mrbroons Thanks, yeah it's deadlocked. I dunno if that's something I can prevent in future? In any case you're right about the cig lighter charger (I'm hoping!) and I've already ordered one, but was hoping not to have to wait for it, hence this thread. But thanks in any case.
Kudos to you for the clip! I had a hard time just installing the battery from the back seat
It’s pretty hard from the back seat. Hope I can rely on a subscribe. Do let me know if there is anything else that would be useful to see.
As an new A2 owner, I am so grateful for your useful and practical videos. Keep them coming.
Thanks, will do!

My pleasure. Have you checked the draw on the battery when off with a multimeter? Start pulling fuses until you get the culprit. MrB
Thank you very much 👍
You are very welcome 🙏
Grazie!! Not a single mechanic in Milano had the palest idea on " how to do it"
I’m really glad that I could help you out! 🙏

It can be tricky to get into deadlocked doors, I completed a video on it some time ago, I'll see if I still have it for you. Thanks for watching!
Thankyou
You’re welcome 😊

@@mrbroons Thanks. Yes can get in, driver's door only though. Not sure how I'd thread jump leads through to back. Thanks again for the thought though.
