  • Another "Evening with Todd Rundgren..." at Kent Stage and highlight of his Nearly Human/Second Wind tours in the early 1990's. Still a fan favorite this soul medley of "I'm So Proud"-"Ooh Baby Baby" and "I Want You" was attended by hundreds of Todd and Rundgren Radio fans the night after Todd performed his orchestrated compositions at the Akron Civic, Akron, Ohio.
    Todd Rundgren has musical roots in the Philly and Motown soul of the 1960's and has been performing soul medley's in various forms since the release of "A Wizard A True Star" in 1973. After the release of "I Want You" by Marvin Gaye, Todd began performing a Marvin Gaye medley of "What's Going On-Mercy Mercy Me-I Want You" wrapped by Todd's "Lost Horizon".
    Curtis Mayfield wrote "I'm So Proud", released in 1964 by The Impressions. Smokey Robinson and Pete Moore's "Ooo Baby Baby" was a 1965 hit for The Miracles. "I Want You", released in 1976, was written by Leon Ware and Arthur "T-Boy" Ross and performed by Marvin Gaye.
