I've been pulled over while carrying. I simply informed the the officer that I'm carrying a legal firearm on my left hip. I asked if I could reach for my license, registration and CCW card. No issues whatsoever. I also rolled down all my windows, turn off my radio, turned on my dome light and had both hands on the steering wheel. I got a 75 in 55 speeding ticket, I deserved it. Off topic. I carry everywhere, even if they have a sign telling me not to. Worse they will do is ask me to leave if they happen to notice. I've ignored those signs since 2012 when the Aurora CO. movie theater was shot up. I lived 15 minutes away at the time. I never want to be one of the sheep being culled by the crazies.
I've been pulled over while carrying twice now. Both encounters went pretty much the way you described. As long as you communicate with police, keep your hands in view and follow instructions, there really shouldn't be a problem.
Yeah Huckleberry....submit yourself as much as possible to show them that you understand you are the slave and they are your master. After doing that 80% of the time they probably will not hurt you if you look right.
I carry all the time and been pulled over a number of times. Never needed to disclose having firearms unless they ask. Otherwise they don't need to know and I go on my way. Never had a problem.
Last time I was pulled over was maybe ten years ago. I ran a red light. Local guy and his partner pulled me over. Two cars ran the red (4 lane road) but I was the sacrifical lamb . They asked me if I knew why I was pulled over, I said yea I ran a red. He was surprised. He asked me if I was going anywhere quickly because of an emergency and I replied no, just thought I could make it. He went back to his car, ran my plates, gave me my license back and said he appreciated my honesty and that I was free to go (no warning and no ticket). Cops are people. There are good people and there are shitty people. In my experience the majority are good, but that doesn't mean we ignore the shitty either.
Thanks man, appreciate you taking the time to share this video. Law enforcers need to be recognized for professional and friendly service to our community. Their sacrifice needs to be commended as well. It’s important that we do our part to make them feel safe doing their job.
You didn't get a ticket because the female officer was in bewildered by that beard!!! If I had pulled you over I would have geeked out and said "oh shit its Mr Gunsandgear....what guns do you have in the truck and talked guns for an hour"..."then ask for a selfie with you" lol.
Like you, it had been 20 years since I had been pulled over. But I broke my streak last week. Before he approached my vehicle, I rolled my windows down and noticed the window ledge of my truck was quite wide. I took out my wallet, laid it on the window ledge and put both hands of the wheel. After answering his first question, I informed him that I had a valid CCW permit. He said he “appreciated the heads up”. He asked if and where I was carrying at the moment. I said yes and on my right side. He gave me permission to produce my credentials from my wallet that was already in plain view. A few moments later, he let me carry on about my business without any paperwork. I am VERY thankful. And I think it helps to show the authorities that you respect their difficult task to confront complete strangers.
Absolutely agree. If they see we are concerned for their safety and show them professional respect, it usually goes very well. Most LEO's pick up on that and show respect in return.
I agree. I have a good friend who is a LEO and if at night turn on all interior lights to help. I have been pulled over 4 times for traffic offenses.(all deserved) and I have more positive results carrying than not( no tickets) My state does not require CCW on interaction but I always give it with license even if I am not carrying ( cause I cant at my work). I end up with a better result.
Whenever I stopped someone and they had interior lights on, hazards going, hands in plain sight, I knew I either had an ex-con wanting to be careful, another cop who knew the score, or legal concealed weapon carrier. Funny thing, if they were a cop, their gun was usually on them. If they were a fed, it was likely in the glove compartment or console. They all got a big thank-you from me for making the whole encounter safer and easier than it might otherwise have been. Occasionally I'd get someone new to concealed carry who would look terrified and squeak that they had a gun and a CCL. I'd tell them thanks for letting me know, let them know there was no requirement to inform me of that but I appreciated their efforts to head off misunderstandings. I might ask for license or registration or whatever and they'd freak out ... "But ... that's in my console... and my GUN is in there!" Well, I'd say, so long as it STAYS in there then we won't have any problems. In my area of the deep south, it was pretty much assumed most folks were armed anyway. Had a lot of good side-of-the-road conversations about 2nd Amendment, gun laws, ammo choices, etc.
@@steelmilkjug - It comes under the "Provide for the Common Defense" ideal set forth in the Preamble of the Constitution. Note here, it's quite late, I'm exhausted so please forgive spelling errors and other minor stuff. Anyway, under common law it is recognized that when a law is enacted (so long as it is a Constitutional law and that the legislative body that enacted it has the authority to do so) then the legislature that enacts said law has the ability to enforce it. The ability to enforce it implies the right to use force, so long as that force does not violate the Constitution (specifically the 4th, 5th, and 8th Amendments). Police powers (and ergo police) exist and are limited in the scope of their powers first by the U.S. Constitution above all, then by any lesser laws (state constitutions, department policies, etc). Forgive me for not going point-by-point in the Constitution, going over the various SCOTUS and other court rulings (rulings they are empowered to make by the Constitution). I'm too tired to look it all up and link you to it. Just search, and I'd recommend using a few search engines. If you are trying to get information for an article, maybe speak to a college instructor who teaches Constitutional Law. Seriously, they'd probably be glad to help. You might also reach out to your state's Peace Officers Standards and Training Center or local police academy. So long as you are polite and let them know you're just doing research they will probably give you a wealth of information. If there is a public library close to you, there may well be law books in their research area and the librarians would help you find the info you seek as well. It would make a pretty cool article or research paper, honestly. Wish I'd thought of that when I was in college.
@@CeltKnight Isn't it just like a Cop to use a legal Purpose to try and Justify his Illegal means... "Provide for the Common Good" is the Legal Purpose. Armed Citizens, State Militas, and Federal Military are the Legal MEANS....Not POLICE... An Armed Citizen, organized in State Militias, Defended by Federal Military, NEED no illegal Police "Protection"..... And the Police KNOW that...that's why it's Police Agencies who disarm Citizens, banish State Militias. If they can abolish Legal MEANS of "Common Defense", you will be dependent THEM for it. And THAT is the reason Police exist in the United States.
@@steelmilkjug - Okay, I let myself be optimistic and pretend that maybe this was a legitimate question. Obviously you're a troll. I shall not indulge you further. Go forth and spread troll shite elsewhere.
My wife and I have been pulled over while both carrying concealed with permits. We told the officer and we were evidently speeding... we got a warning also, the officer actually told us that he thought all lawfully abiding citizens should exercise their right to carry. I thought that was really cool.
I had been pulled over twice in one year. Both times I informed the officer by having my license out with my CHL and handed them to the officer immediately. Both times they asked me where the weapon was, and both times I received a warning. 2 different agencies, but they both gave me the safety speech, and a warning. I guess it pays to be old and respectful. Good Job!
I am working on my concealed carry and got pulled in Wilson NC this month. Pulled over out of traffic in well lit parking lot, placed my gun on the dash, and ands on the steering wheel in clear sight. Made it clear that I was Open Carry and pointed out my weapon on the dash. Officer told me why he pulled me (no attempt to test my integrity) and was great in the interaction. He came back with a warning and a comment that he sees my CCP is in works in Edgecombe County, he hopes it goes faster than when he applied for his. Great interaction with the officer, made sure to send a positive comment to his boss. I can imagine how stressful it is to make a night stop on a car for an officer. It is important that I do everything I can to de-escalate the situation as well
Being calm, polite goes a long way. Happened to me last year. Prior to that I had not been blue lighted in 10-12 years. (I can’t lie I was nervous when he asked if I was armed) At the end of the day he & I both went home to our families. TFS
@@Incessuserro In the state of North Carolina it's illegal to not notify a law enforcement officer conducting a lawful stop that you are a concealed carry holder and carrying a firearm.
@@SkinnySkinch Understood. That law is a violation of The Constitution. Possessing a weapon is not a crime. Invoking one's right to answer or not answer questions is also not a crime. Government has conjured up this law because of a fraction of incidents where criminals used a gun against LEOs.
@@Incessuserro Yeah I get your point man but at the end of the day everyone that wants to give cops a hard time because of the few bad ones or because they want to flex their constitutional right to be silent just make everything more difficult for most officers just doing their job. I respect the police and what they do for society. Do I always agree with them? Hell no. Nobodies perfect though. Simply providing enough information to keep the police officer at ease for their own safety shouldn't be something anyone morally wants to withhold from the police whether technically legal or not. Like I get everyones point about our rights, but common courtesy goes a long way. Be civil. Be human. These people didnt sign up to be cops just to be tyrants. Just like you say a fraction of criminals used a gun against a LEO so why should that tiny fraction mean we have to tell them anything for their safety, well I say the same argument for LEOs being tyrants. Very few are. If a cop pulls me over because I broke the law, Im going to be respectful and own up to it. If a cop comes to my front door to try and confiscate my firearms because a liberal government decided to take away my right to defend myself and my family bc of a few bad apples then yeah im not going to be so polite and "sheep like" in that instance.
I was pulled over a few years ago (expired tags) the interaction between the office and myself mirrored yours almost to the letter. I received a verbal warning about the tags and went on about my day. We have a lot of great officers here in Missouri and I’m quite thankful for them.
Good to post these stories. I had a very similar experience, went very professionally, officer even thanked me for informing him before leaving. 1:30 am on a Friday night, he was hunting OUI’s. I have a ccw permit, but now our State also adopted constitutional carry. I give LEO a wide birth and utmost courtesy.
i live in California and the cops here freak out over BB guns. ive literally had the cops storm my house with guns drawn because my brother and his friends were playing with airsoft guns in the garage and someone passing by called the police and said "theres kids playing with toy guns and im worried some of the bbs might hit a car or a person". and even after they realized for sure that they were airsoft guns, they stayed there questioning my brother and his friends for another 20+minutes.
I was pulled over recently while carrying, the officer never asked i never told. He let me go with a warning about speeding that's the end of the story.
FNS ON THE HIP!! ,not here in Washington state. RCWs > Title 9 > Chapter 9.41 > Section 9.41.050 (b) Every licensee shall have his or her concealed pistol license in his or her immediate possession at all times that he or she is required by this section to have a concealed pistol license and shall display the same upon demand to any police officer or to any other person when and if required by law to do so.
Making it mandatory to reveal your personal effects is a violation of the fourth and fifth amendments of the Constitution of the United States of America. Just saying
Thanks for sharing! Had almost the same thing happen to me almost a year ago. New "no turn on red" sign. Had my pistol in my waistband. I'm still here because of the same manners you showed.
Thanks for the positive story. The vast majority of law enforcement are extremely pro 2A. As a Deputy I actually enjoy my interactions on traffic stops with concealed carriers. Its relieving when they announce as I have a better idea of who im dealing with, an armed law abiding citizen who went through the process to get their carry license vs a completely unknown individual who may or may not be armed and have ill intent. Plus I get to talk guns with them 😉. Always more to learn.
Ryan Tack Nice...u sound like an awesome cop and wish all were like ya and shared similar PRO 2A beliefs. I’m glad to hear your opinion and that you appreciate carriers. There are more and more of us concealed carriers each day carrying legally and RESPONSIBLY. Keep up the good work and thanks for all you do officer cuz I know your job ain’t easy, especially in this climate.
Had a similar experience with a trooper in South Carolina. Perfect example of how/when to let the officer know of a firearm. Always state location of needed identification BEFORE making any movement. Once they know what to expect you’re all good! They need to know where the “hazard” is in relation to your hand movements. No big deal
Great story ! My wife got in a bad accident in a winter storm here in Northern Nevada , and when Highway patrol got on the scene she Immediately Informed the Trooper that she Had a concealed Firearm , showed him her permit and the Trooper said that's fine you don't Draw I won't Draw , my Wife said Absolutely and continued on with the Accident and made sure she was OK. There Truly are some Great Law Enforcement Officers out there and yes there are some not so great out there just like All people in the World ! Nice Video Mr.GunsnGear.
That's never going to happen. Police are American citizens too and seriously the overwhelming majority of them are pro gun. Plus even an anti-gun officer or soldier knows they would not last an hour trying to take guns in the US.
Larry Durocher that is total anecdotal evidence police violate the constitution every single day it's happening right now in States like California New York Illinois and Massachusetts. they serve the state and are only mainly concerned with their pension check.
I've been pulled over in a few different states with firearms... best part is, I'm here telling you this. You are absolutely right about being polite and courteous. Once cops know that you're carrying because your told them, you're more than likely to havea great interaction
I got pulled over recently also and it went real smooth I handed him my license and my permit to carry together he asked where my gun was I told him I had on my left hip and a AR in the trunk I asked if I should put my gun on the dash or anything he said nope you leave yours where it is and I ll do the same and laughed lol just be smart and polite and you’ll have success
As a member of the LE community I appreciate you taking the time to post some basic advice as to how to interact with us when armed. Glad you got a “warning” ticket as well.
Great video representing a smart and important point. Think and expect the best from folks when you give the best you have. And cops are people too with your best interests at heart most of the time. Your communication style is very effective.
Kudos to you by following SOP from conceal class training!!! Letting the officer know of firearms in the vehicle, but nice outcome everyone goes on there way!!!
Very glad you shared this. I had the same exact thing happen to me.. We’ve been so brainwashed by the media it shocked me that the officer responded as professional as he did when I told him I was carrying a firearm. He literally didn’t flinch and wrote me a warning for speeding. 1. VERY glad you shared this 2. Everyone needs to remember that you don’t always know what happened before the camera got turned on... I’ve witnessed situations in my life that got reported on the news and the media made it sound COMPLETELY different than what actually happened. It’s the world we live in.
I live down here in FLA in Charlotte county and was on my way to work at 330am and got pulled over for going to fast had my 229 in my center console so I put the hazards on rolled my window all the way down pulled over turned the car off put keys on dash and had both hands out the window from my wrists forward also told him I was carrying gave him my license and ccp cop was awesome gave me a warning like you and then we talked about where we go shooting and why the sig P series is the best line of fire arms ever made as he carry’s a 226 moral of the story put your self in there shoes traffic stops are the most dangerous thing for a cop and just showing the cop that your probly not a bad guy can make things go your way
Proper all the way! Kept your hands visible, informed you were armed and communicated clearly and truthfully all the way. No bad attitude and cooperative, that's the right way to proceed when stopped by a cop. Most of them will reciprocate that respect and everything will be fine. They DO have a stressful job and all they need is cooperation, frosting on the cake being YOU are a smart and responsible guy! Kudos!
Went thru the same situation last Friday evening. I was driving 53 in a 45 when he stopped me. My license was in my briefcase so I ask permission to get it. I gave him my driver license and CCL. He ask if I was armed and I answered “yes”. He then gave me my CCL back and went to check my driver license. He came back thanked me for my corporation. No ticket, not even a warning ticket. He told me to be careful and try to drive the speed limit. You corporate with them and you will never have a problem.
... unless you are out of luck and you meet corrupt cops who are not the majority but still exist and even if you are Jesus himself and do everything right you would be treated badly. Just wanted to add that to your nice comment, the word "never" bugged me so I had to do it lol.
The majority of the time, this is how those police interactions go with law-abiding armed citizens. I was pulled over a couple of years ago while carrying my pistol concealed and I was so nervous, I was shaking. The Highway Patrol was so professional and put me at ease, even after I told him I was "packing heat". Positive experience that day for me too. Thanks for making this video.
Mrgunsngear: First, thanks for the 'positive" feedback on your encounter with an LEO. You did everything correct! People do not understand that walking up on a vehicle on a "traffic stop" is, or should be, the time when Officer should be observant as to what is going on in the stopped vehicle. Another thing people should keep in mind, there is "No Routine Traffic Stop", that is a fallacy! Anyway, thanks from an retired LEO...Keep up your good work and keep up with your very informative vids, well done. Thanks
Had a similar interaction with Kentucky State Police on July 4th here in my neck of the woods. Just asked where my CCW was and continued to write up the ticket. 👌
Well done ... I'm very glad you shared this story with us all. The way you conducted yourself during the stop made it easy for the officer to maintain a pleasant and professional attitude. Again, well done!
The fact that we have to pull over in the first place, put our hands in plain sight, and fear for our lives at some level, and all for absolutely nothing in this particular case (no victim = no crime), speaks volumes as to what kind of state we live in (a police state).
f308gtb1977- Not the case at all. Officers deal with dangerous people and situations all the time. Showing some respect and keeping the situation calm and very open goes a long way. If there are firearms in play everyone gets jacked up. As Mrgunsandgear pointed out, he is legally obligated in his state to declare his CCW. Prior to doing so he set the scene for a smooth calm transaction. Really no different than having your money/debit card/credit card ready to pay before you get to the window at a drive through. In a police state you wouldn't be permitted to own let alone carry firearms... Go read a book and learn something.
f308gtb1977 how do you think cops catch criminals to begin with? Criminals transport illegal weapons, drugs, even their victims in their cars sometimes. You have a lesser expectation of privacy in your vehicle by law for this reason. Traffic stops are not just to punish you for a minor infraction. They’re meant to help police discover “real” criminals.
With every traffic stop, communication and body language are the keys to a happy ending. A traffic stop is in itself a stressful situation, the officer is stopping a complete stranger with little or no information about him until they approach the vehicle. So you did everything right and everyone went home happy.
Once again you have provided a perfect performance. This video should be shown in ALL 50 states to anyone who might at some time have a gun in their car, even if they don't have a C.C.W. license. (ex:going to the range) REGARDLESS of color, gender or Age (speaking from a " senior citizen")
Exact same thing happened to me about a month and a half ago. If you're respectful and honest, they usually will be respectful back. Thanks for sharing!
That’s how it’s supposed to work... I bet there are thousands of these good interactions between police and the public to every one time some jackass does something stupid. At least I hope...
From a law enforcement perspective (though I'm recently retired) you definitely did the right thing. It sounds to me like that officer was well trained and not paranoid like a lot of officers out there. Here in NM people aren't required to notify LE of a weapon in the vehicle, and personally, I really didn't care if they did or not as I would appoach every vehicle with the same caution regardless. If a person is going to try and kill you they wouldn't tell you if the had a gun.
velvet911pk What is it with you badged thugs ? You always refer to yourselves as ENFORCEMENT, LEO, LE, etc ? Whatever happened to being a police or peace officer. You are just tools of the state. Worthless except to the dregs of government.
Respect is a two way street. Unless you’re amongst friends, and you fall asleep after a night of drinking, and we find some dry eraser board markers. 😉🖕
Thank you for stating this. This is a very simple fact that is either something detainees are ignorant of or intentionally ignore but the golden rule is "golden" for a reason. Nothing above minimal respect is owed but LOTS can be easily gained in short order with simple and easy actions. LEO risks ALL on EVERY. Show them some respect and you will likely get it returned. Show them disrespect and you definitely won't (and shouldn't) get any returned. IF you don't know how or what qualifies as amenable behavior, ASK somebody quick. Detainees actively, by their own choice present themselves as that faceless, soulless humanoid depicted in all the LEO training literature if they disrespect the risk said manuals are created to mitigate. I am not LEO and those who are might say this is an extremely literal and possibly harsh way to look at it. I hope so. That means it would put me clearly on the side of my personal safety during a detention.
I had a similar experience the one time I got pulled over while armed. I informed the officer that I was carrying and where the firearm was. I kept calm and made sure she could see my hands at all times. When she went back to her car to run my license, she asked me to keep my hands on the steering wheel. I did as she asked. She gave me a ticket but we had a quick chat afterward about the interaction and she thanked me for being compliant. That went a long way to help her keep her nerves down.
My state doesn't require us to notify police officers that we are carrying. In conversations with police officers I've had as trainers most have recommended to me that I don't bring it up unless asked to leave the vehicle or reach into an area where a firearm is located. Their reasoning was that it can add complications to the stop and depending on the experience of the officer it might put the officer on edge unnecessarily. Obviously follow your state laws. Windows open, hands visible, slow movement, and dome lights on at night are all good tips.
The first time I got pulled over the cop said “license and registration please.” As I reached over to my glove box I remembered I had my Glock 23 in there. I put my hands on the steering wheel and calmly told him so. I now begin every encounter that way and I’m not even sure if I’m required to do so. The last thing either of us needs in that situation is a firearm surprising anybody.
A few months ago I was stopped by a SCHP Trooper at 11pm. Only the third time in 43 years of driving. I pulled over in a parking lot under a street light turned on my interior light and opened my window. When he came to the car I immediately told him that I have my ccw and that I was armed. I asked him how he wanted to handle this and he said you keep yours holstered and I'll keep mine holstered. He told me he clocked me at 56 in a 45 and I told him I was making a quick run to the store to get coffee for my wife. He says man you gotta keep momma happy. He took my license and registration and came back with a warning. He thanked me for stopping under the street light and for telling him about my weapon right away now get that coffee home and be careful doing it he shook my hand and left. Your attitude with them sets the atmosphere. If your pleasant with them and don't give them a hard time a good 95% of the time they will be the same with you.
I was pulled over for a faulty headlight while carrying a gun, I told them I had it even though I didn't have to in my state. (a constitutional carry state) They asked if they could search my car and when I said no, they wasted 20 minutes of my time trying to find a way into my car. Even brought a canine. I was just trying to get to the gas station.
@@JHUM22 I was doing nothing illegal so I denied them an entry into my property, which is my right. I was completely cooperative and friendly until they brought the canine. Stop licking boots, dumbass
Good to hear a positive police encounter! Mine was similar, rolling through a stop sign in an unfamiliar neighborhood. The only difference was that the cop took my pistol in the glovebox and put it in my trunk. Got a verbal warning. If you respect the officer, they will usually return the favor. As far as written warnings, they give those out now so that it can be documented in case you repeat the same offense. Most of the time you won't get it if the officer is in a rush.
I had a similar experience a few years ago. I was pulled over for doing 50 in a 35. As soon as the lights came on I pulled over & turned on my overhead light & kept my hands on the wheel. He came up & asked for my paperwork & I told him that there was a firearm in the car, where it was, & told him I wasn't going to get my license due to it being in my lunchbag which was next to my sidearm. End of the story is that because I was up front & courteous, he gave me a verbal warning. We shook hands & went about our business. Don't be a dick & you won't be treated like one
Glad it worked out well for you! I was in a traffic accident last week and did inform the investigating officer I had a concealed carry permit and was carrying. I did have time before he arrived to have my license, registration and proof of insurance right in my hand so no need to dig for them when asked for them. All went much the same as your experience, professional and courteous. I was not at fault so the other driver got the ticket. No one got hurt badly and everyone went home as in your incident. That's all we can ask for.
Good P.S.A. Regardless of your ethnicity if you treat the Public Servant the way they deserve they will treat you the same . Others who say otherwise probably need schooling in social behavior.
Handled it perfectly. I too got pulled over recently while I was carrying. Followed the same protocol re: telling him I was going to get my wallet/registration. We ended up chatting about guns and he gave me a warning (expired registration). The times I've been pulled over while carying, I feel like the cops think of me as on "their side" and are more lenient than not. Well done!
Pulled over this year by DPS in Texas. Handed the officer my LTC in addition to my DL. Got off with a warning and a safety reminder even though I was speeding. He was very courteous and more than fair. I deserved a ticket. He never asked where my firearm was. Didn't seem the least bit worried about it. I also hadn't been pulled over in twenty years. I was respectful and kept my hands visible. He almost looked relieved when I handed him my LTC.
1) if the police are corrupt, this won't help you defend yourself against the bad guy police officer. 2) the majority of the police forces are good honest people who are trustworthy. 3) good communication is (as you did) essential to surviving a police encounter.
I’ve been a LEO for over 26 years in Oklahoma. We encounter armed citizens all the time. When both the officer and citizen remain calm what you experienced is always the same.
I have yet to get pulled over while carrying.. it's a good streak lol. Not really looking forward to having to deal with that. My luck I'll get a rookie & next thing I know my car is surrounded😂🙃
Gun saved you from getting a ticket in my experience. They seem to let drivers off with a warning when you handle the situation correctly while carrying.
I've been pulled over here in GA a couple times since acquiring my CCWP - be respectful and tell them, and they will "usually" respond with same respect.
Turn off the car, Turn off the Radio/Music, Roll down the windows (eventually turn on the inside lights if it's night time), keep your hands visible on the wheel, or the door, stay calm and polite, don't raise your voice, listen the instruction and let the officer know your intentions before to reach anything (wallet, glove box, etc...). That's generally the key for a smooth and incident free interaction with cops and for everyone to go home safe. If more people would act like that, I can guarantee you the numbers of people shot by cops would be even lower.
Thank you!! I know we see terrible things on TV about police, and I'm sure too many are true. We won't even mention the Parkland Florida police department. It was a disgrace. But I know police officers around the country were cringing. But in my town of Pennsauken NJ are awesome. I've seen them in action. They are great and professional. They've saved my butt on more then one occasion. I'd give my life for one, and they would do the same. I thank God for them!! Rich 👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸♿♿
Jim Beam they currently are trying too do a gunban by making ccw feels very high. They are calling for a 2400 percent hike. One fee going from five dollars to five hundred dollars. This especially hurts the poor, which is heavily minorities. Gun control has always hurt minorities, especially for black Americans. Watch gun controls racist history by Colion Noir on RUclips. There are others. I have several dear friends who carry and are black and Hispanic. Minorities oftentimes believe the left is for them. The video mentioned above will change your mind. I'm an independent disabled white man who cares about all people's rights. God bless Mark Robinson!! Rich , Donna's banged up boyfriend. 👍👍🇺🇸🇺🇸♿♿
Jim Beam- Yep , it is a terrible state for gun laws. Years ago PA State police could not even carry over the bridge even when transporting a prisoner..
Let off with just a warning huh? You must have used the the old "don't you know who I am line. I'm mrgunsngear dm Slyder international man of mystery and RUclips gun channel superstar!" then you hit her with that smile and wink and you're on your way with just a warning. I'm thinking that's how that really went 😉
I had too was pulled over. I gave him my license and LTC. He asked if I was carrying and told I always do. At that point the officer stated that maybe one day, I might be saving his families life. He told me to have a good day and let me go. I feel those that those legally carry are at times are aggressive towards LE. That’s when things go wrong.
Thanks for posting this... I used to teach, via the NRA training class, how civilians should conduct themselves in situations with LE and what they might expect from LE. I was a cop and NRA Life and hope I helped all involved on both sides.
“The whole Good Cop / Bad Cop question can be disposed of much more decisively. […] We need only consider the following: (1) A cop’s job is to enforce the laws, all of them; (2) Many of the laws are manifestly unjust, and some are even cruel and wicked; (3) Therefore every cop has to agree to act as an enforcer for laws that are manifestly unjust or even cruel and wicked. There are no good cops.” - Robert Higgs
The INTENTIONALLY horribly photoshopped thumbnail is a joke folks. Seems some of you missed it 😉

Here's your sign!
Amen brother
100% Agree
Do it in a city and theyll call the swat team to sear ch your car without a warrant
Mirrors exactly what happened to me last year. Good vid.
thanks for the report 🇺🇸
I've been pulled over while carrying twice now. Both encounters went pretty much the way you described. As long as you communicate with police, keep your hands in view and follow instructions, there really shouldn't be a problem.

Yeah Huckleberry....submit yourself as much as possible to show them that you understand you are the slave and they are your master. After doing that 80% of the time they probably will not hurt you if you look right.
Lol indeed
@Willard Lentz Anyone who uses the drumpf line I tend to ignore their opinions and realize that he is living in their head rent free
I carry all the time and been pulled over a number of times. Never needed to disclose having firearms unless they ask. Otherwise they don't need to know and I go on my way. Never had a problem.
Awesome. Thanks for the support!
Thank you so much for telling a positive story like this, we need the good stories like this more often.
Thanks man, appreciate you taking the time to share this video. Law enforcers need to be recognized for professional and friendly service to our community. Their sacrifice needs to be commended as well. It’s important that we do our part to make them feel safe doing their job.
Right? It is just a few bad apples making the other 2% look bad.
It's these kind of anecdotes that support the data that show CCW holders have fewer criminal convictions than even cops themselves.
If u were black that cop would have emptied his glock mag into u
Legally you don’t have to tell a cop you’re a CCW holder unless they ask you.
As a cop, I appreciate this. Legally armed/responsible citizens make my job easier! Keep up the good work.
As a cop, can you show me where in the US Constitution your job exists?
Good Job!
thanks for the report
It is important that I do everything I can to de-escalate the situation as well
Had a similar experience a few years ago. Clear communication and tact/reasonable level of respect goes a LOOOOONG way.
thanks for the report
Being calm, polite goes a long way. Happened to me last year. Prior to that I had not been blue lighted in 10-12 years. (I can’t lie I was nervous when he asked if I was armed) At the end of the day he & I both went home to our families. TFS
Of course it went well because you’re a gentleman and not a provocateur.
Wow! Exercising one's right to not make a statement to a LEO is being a provocateur.
Or black
I was pulled over a few years ago (expired tags) the interaction between the office and myself mirrored yours almost to the letter. I received a verbal warning about the tags and went on about my day. We have a lot of great officers here in Missouri and I’m quite thankful for them.
That thumbnail lol

Actual video left me disappoint.
Heh. Glad no perp walk tho. That would have made for interesting video but...
The best part is how shitty photoshop it was, ads to the patina

Terrible photoshop
Thank you, for giving the officer the credit for doing her job.
Good to post these stories. I had a very similar experience, went very professionally, officer even thanked me for informing him before leaving. 1:30 am on a Friday night, he was hunting OUI’s. I have a ccw permit, but now our State also adopted constitutional carry. I give LEO a wide birth and utmost courtesy.
thanks for the report
Being polite, respectful and knowing what to say goes a long ways. I'm sure the LEO was very happy with this encounter.
Cops are people...some are nice....some are very MEAN....just depends which one you get.
More stories like this need to be shared.
Cops sometimes get a bad rap every cop i have talked to in my state fully support us civilians carrying a firearm!

Keith-----hey Shipmate how are you doing? Have a good one my friend.
Doing good shipmate i hope you are as well have a good week!
i live in California and the cops here freak out over BB guns. ive literally had the cops storm my house with guns drawn because my brother and his friends were playing with airsoft guns in the garage and someone passing by called the police and said "theres kids playing with toy guns and im worried some of the bbs might hit a car or a person". and even after they realized for sure that they were airsoft guns, they stayed there questioning my brother and his friends for another 20+minutes.
Just don't tell them. You have the right to defend yourself against police thugs.
As a former LEO. You nailed it,! Inform the officer and let them dictate how things will progress.
I was pulled over recently while carrying, the officer never asked i never told. He let me go with a warning about speeding that's the end of the story.
thanks for the report
It's mandatory in some States
FNS ON THE HIP!! ,not here in Washington state. RCWs > Title 9 > Chapter 9.41 > Section 9.41.050 (b) Every licensee shall have his or her concealed pistol license in his or her immediate possession at all times that he or she is required by this section to have a concealed pistol license and shall display the same upon demand to any police officer or to any other person when and if required by law to do so.
BIG LOU yea I know it's not all just some
Making it mandatory to reveal your personal effects is a violation of the fourth and fifth amendments of the Constitution of the United States of America.
Just saying
It's good to hear positive stories involving law enforcement.
Definitely worth telling. Communication is key. Good thing you "forgot" to tell the officer about your friend's parole violation... ;)

Nice...u sound like an awesome cop and wish all were like ya and shared similar PRO 2A beliefs.
I’m glad to hear your opinion and that you appreciate carriers. There are more and more of us concealed carriers each day carrying legally and RESPONSIBLY.

Thank you, this is needed, now more than ever.
Had a similar experience with a trooper in South Carolina. Perfect example of how/when to let the officer know of a firearm. Always state location of needed identification BEFORE making any movement. Once they know what to expect you’re all good! They need to know where the “hazard” is in relation to your hand movements. No big deal
thanks for the report
Great story ! My wife got in a bad accident in a winter storm here in Northern Nevada , and when Highway patrol got on the scene she Immediately Informed the Trooper that she Had a concealed Firearm , showed him her permit and the Trooper said that's fine you don't Draw I won't Draw , my Wife said Absolutely and continued on with the Accident and made sure she was OK. There Truly are some Great Law Enforcement Officers out there and yes there are some not so great out there just like All people in the World ! Nice Video Mr.GunsnGear.
It’s easy if you follow the basics! Carry on
That seems SO hard for some to understand.
Doesn't change the fact that these are the first people that will come for your guns
Excellent! My dad was a police officer. Very pro 2nd Amendment guy, firearms instructor, NRA member. He would have liked this story.
Thanks for sharing a good story and example of how to do it right. Giving respect gets respect.
I got pulled over recently also and it went real smooth I handed him my license and my permit to carry together he asked where my gun was I told him I had on my left hip and a AR in the trunk I asked if I should put my gun on the dash or anything he said nope you leave yours where it is and I ll do the same and laughed lol just be smart and polite and you’ll have success
thanks for the report
Good response, he packed the warning in a joke, very professional and funny!
great info Mr Guns n Gear! people need to hear more good cop stories 👍
As a member of the LE community I appreciate you taking the time to post some basic advice as to how to interact with us when armed. Glad you got a “warning” ticket as well.
wow how nice of the cop to not be a state enforcer and rob him
Great video representing a smart and important point. Think and expect the best from folks when you give the best you have. And cops are people too with your best interests at heart most of the time. Your communication style is very effective.
Great video!! Thanks for sharing this one. More normal stories need to get shared. Roll Tide!
Thank you
NICE Mike!!! You’re a smart dude & an excellent 2A ambassador. That’s why I’m here. The LEO sounded very professional as well & that’s a great thing.
Kudos to you by following SOP from conceal class training!!! Letting the officer know of firearms in the vehicle, but nice outcome everyone goes on there way!!!
weedXD38 pretty sure informing is state law in NC
Very glad you shared this. I had the same exact thing happen to me.. We’ve been so brainwashed by the media it shocked me that the officer responded as professional as he did when I told him I was carrying a firearm. He literally didn’t flinch and wrote me a warning for speeding.
1. VERY glad you shared this
2. Everyone needs to remember that you don’t always know what happened before the camera got turned on... I’ve witnessed situations in my life that got reported on the news and the media made it sound COMPLETELY different than what actually happened. It’s the world we live in.
I live down here in FLA in Charlotte county and was on my way to work at 330am and got pulled over for going to fast had my 229 in my center console so I put the hazards on rolled my window all the way down pulled over turned the car off put keys on dash and had both hands out the window from my wrists forward also told him I was carrying gave him my license and ccp cop was awesome gave me a warning like you and then we talked about where we go shooting and why the sig P series is the best line of fire arms ever made as he carry’s a 226 moral of the story put your self in there shoes traffic stops are the most dangerous thing for a cop and just showing the cop that your probly not a bad guy can make things go your way
Glad it worked our well. No more running stop signs. Keep your cool.
Nice to hear that good stuff happens also.

You corporate with them and you will never have a problem.
thanks for the report
... unless you are out of luck and you meet corrupt cops who are not the majority but still exist and even if you are Jesus himself and do everything right you would be treated badly. Just wanted to add that to your nice comment, the word "never" bugged me so I had to do it lol.
Are you the CEO of Krispy Kreme?
Scott Rousseau Naw, just a law abiding citizen that respects law enforcement.
*cooperate *cooperation
The majority of the time, this is how those police interactions go with law-abiding armed citizens. I was pulled over a couple of years ago while carrying my pistol concealed and I was so nervous, I was shaking. The Highway Patrol was so professional and put me at ease, even after I told him I was "packing heat". Positive experience that day for me too. Thanks for making this video.
I was actually shot and killed just the other day from an encounter that went horribly wrong
True story.
😁
lol
Bringing a new definition to "necroposting." 👻
Glad to see your feeling better.
Hello Russian bot. 😝
Thanks
Thank you
Had a similar interaction with Kentucky State Police on July 4th here in my neck of the woods.
Thank you
Cadillac Jack "Anything you say can be held against you." Never talk to a cop.
During a routine traffic stop-ALWAYS comply, be polite and it is NOT a crime to have a gun in your car-unless you have committed a crime?

Unless you’re amongst friends, and you fall asleep after a night of drinking, and we find some dry eraser board markers. 😉🖕
nah...its sharpie or nothing...lol
Not always. Depends at what level. The FEDS could give a damn about "citizens" or their rights.
Excellent!!! If everyone would respond as you did, life would be so much better.
John Chubb How about keeping one's mouth shut ! Never talk to a badged thug.
How about never talking to a thug.
John Chubb, yes, all the sheep need to be quiet while being fleeced (or slaughtered).
That doesn't even make any sense. LOL I'm guessing you're a liberal loon.
Usually, if you're cooperative, polite, and remain calm. Cops just let you go.
Right on! For conducting yourself properly.
Thank you
See kid's that's the way it's Done !!!! The cop's weren't denied anything !!!! 😕🇺🇸
I now see that you are one big man and a highly trained man in physical combat !
A real dangerous man !
GOOD ! ! !
Indeed
Murphy82nd as a cop I’d preferably like to know about all guns involved in the stop, and their location.
Joseph Gonzalez fair enough, I can only speak for my experience and the officers I've talked to
The first time I got pulled over the cop said “license and registration please.” As I reached over to my glove box I remembered I had my Glock 23 in there. I put my hands on the steering wheel and calmly told him so. I now begin every encounter that way and I’m not even sure if I’m required to do so. The last thing either of us needs in that situation is a firearm surprising anybody.
Thanks for posting video, basically a how to when it comes to legally carrying your weapons and interacting with law enforcement.

(a constitutional carry state)
They asked if they could search my car and when I said no, they wasted 20 minutes of my time trying to find a way into my car. Even brought a canine. I was just trying to get to the gas station.
Sounds like you wasted your own time dumbass lol
Your scary blue line skull thumbnail makes your comment grotesquely obvious.
@@JHUM22 I was doing nothing illegal so I denied them an entry into my property, which is my right. I was completely cooperative and friendly until they brought the canine.
Stop licking boots, dumbass

JHUM 22 well no, the 2020 version of a redcoats logo is pretty bad. But yeah.. I’ll fish with a buddy next time.
Don't be a dick & you won't be treated like one
thanks for the report
Me? Nope ! I just treat people nice and let meenies fall on their own sword
Lol say that to the boys family in Michigan that the cop killed
Handled it perfectly. I too got pulled over recently while I was carrying. Followed the same protocol re: telling him I was going to get my wallet/registration. We ended up chatting about guns and he gave me a warning (expired registration). The times I've been pulled over while carying, I feel like the cops think of me as on "their side" and are more lenient than not. Well done!
Great outcome.
Indeed
The fact that we are talking about surviving a police encounter says a lot.
TapRack2 Sorry to disappoint, I don’t watch CNN. Have a pleasant day in your bubble. Freedom on.
😁
Thanks for sharing....glad all went!!!
Gun saved you from getting a ticket in my experience. They seem to let drivers off with a warning when you handle the situation correctly while carrying.
I've been pulled over here in GA a couple times since acquiring my CCWP - be respectful and tell them, and they will "usually" respond with same respect.
"I literally don't remember if I did or I didn't" The point of the story here is, PAY ATTENTION! Time is money.
Thank God for smart people and good cops !
👌🏾

I’ve got an AR15 in the backseat, a 19 on my hip, a 43 on my ankle, and a 2 in my shorts. 😳
A glock 2? What even is that? wouldn't that be a prototype?
Elliot White lol the number 2 in his shorts is nick named "the brown bomber"
LOL
Elliot White : I thought he was bragging about having 2 inches in his shorts. 🙄
That's nothing to be proud of :D
Thanks for posting this... I used to teach, via the NRA training class, how civilians should conduct themselves in situations with LE and what they might expect from LE. I was a cop and NRA Life and hope I helped all involved on both sides.
“The whole Good Cop / Bad Cop question can be disposed of much more decisively. […] We need only consider the following:
(1) A cop’s job is to enforce the laws, all of them;
(2) Many of the laws are manifestly unjust, and some are even cruel and wicked;
(3) Therefore every cop has to agree to act as an enforcer for laws that are manifestly unjust or even cruel and wicked.
There are no good cops.”
- Robert Higgs
Edward Agora Feenman Thanks for that extract of Mr. Higgs' accurate observation. There are no good cops.
Respect and a pleasant attitude can go a long way. 🤠
Citizen... not civilian.
Adam 79 ! You are enlightened !
Thanks for putting it out there! Handled accordingly! Good job 👍
Glad this went well for everyone involved. She probably didn't give you a ticket because she has a thing for bald guys. ;-)
😁
Wish there was more people like you out there showing that cops aren't nearly as bad as the media puts then out to be. Keep up brother
