For real! When Hunter needed a name, Flapjack chirped and gave him the idea of “Caleb”. Caleb was a common name among puritans who introduced it to the US in the 17th century, Philip Wittebane’s time. I think that maybe the reason why Flapjack knew that name was because that was the name of his original owner (Philip’s brother)
I LOVED this Hunter episode, how he was so disconnected with the youth at the beginning, then being GENUINELY HAVING FUN FOR FIRST TIME IN HIS LIFE, and the fact that he genuinely thought that the emperor's coven reveal would be great news and don’t think of it as a betrayal because of how brainwashed has been his life. But later risk himself to let them scape and then trying immediately to reach out to when he was given the penstagram scroll. Yeah we're really learned so much in this episode we learned that the covering head leaders don't trust each other and won't be afraid to backstab one another
The Hunter and Willow plotline was honestly the best of the episode. First, how Willow got into shape to be in the Flyers Dirby; Hunters character development, his dynamic with Darius, amazing. Plus, we got the Hunter Willow ship!
3:25 On the topic of Darius’s age, if you look closely in the flashback with Eda and Lilith where we see the Young Blight parents in the background, you can also see a young Darius
I hope that we can somehow get more of Darius and Hunter. I love their dynamic: The father figure that wants his child to just get out of the house and love his life and the introverted(possibly autistic) son who has such a sective interest that he needs to be pushed to try new things.
It's interesting that Darius does care about Hunter so knowing that the old Golden guard is his mentor it's safe to assume that he reflected on his teachings doing the same thing to Hunter and getting him to experience life outside the castle and making connections with people so I think Darius could mentor him in ways that he did. And probably give him some sewing lessons too
I honestly love that we saw another side of Darius. The cool-uncle side of you will. Gives more depth to his character in my opinion. Maybe this will make Hunter realize that Belos is a shitty parental figure.
There might have been several Golden Guards over the last fifty years, assuming Belos created the position when he took power fifty years ago, Hunter could be the third or fourth Golden Guard, and when Darius said predecessor, it could have been not the immediate predecessor.
Considering the GG is a position that comes with prestige and authority I don't think such a position would have been given to that many people in a fairy short amount of time. Seems like the coven system is like 50~60 years old so I cannot imagine there being more 2 or 3 prior to Hunter.
@@msk-qp6fn Well a position tends to be filled rather fast, say the average golden guard lasted say 15 years, maybe twenty, but that would still be two or three before Hunter. Especially if Hunter is the youngest Golden Guard (which is quite likely given his connection, age, and the comparative prestige of the position) and most were already senior Coven members before attaining the position. And sometimes a position might be vacated frequently (3rd century say over twenty individuals holding a position over 50 years)
I love this episode, it was so nice to see Hunter experience a moment of real childhood and make friends his own age for the first time! and i especially enjoyed the Lumity moments the fact that they ignored Boscha made me think-"Give it a rest Boscha, they obviously don't care what you think" and the theories Luz and Amity came up with together was just adorable!
I like how Darius appreciated Hunter for standing up for himself and making friends outside of the castle, he's definitely a better father/uncle figure than Emperor Belos would ever be.
I loved this episode! Though it wasn’t actively moving the overarching plot, it gave a lot of character development and showed relationships like a small glimpse of Hunter and Raine’s (we can see how Raine wanted to stop walking but they are under Terra’s influence, they probably had talked to Hunter and was nice to him a few times before losing their memories too), Darius and Hunter, and Willow and Hunter. Darius is also now being shown as someone who looks out more for his best interests and does what he wants more than what the coven system wants. He may not be as against Belos and the system as Raine or as obvious about it, but this does leave room for him to eventually betray Belos.
@@mythical_phoenix Yeah, I know that, that’s one of the reasons I enjoyed the episode, it felt more like a later season 1 episode, developing the characters and relationships, setting up for plot in later episodes
Raine seems like one of the few kind and well intentioned Coven Heads and adult Hunter may have access to so I do want to see Raine and Hunter having a bonding moment too. It was a small moment but I still love how Raine was the only one who cared to look back at Hunter with sympathy. Really shows they are a good person.
I'm not liking how few of the comments here are actually talking about Willow's role in this, especially given she's waited almost an entire season's worth to get another spotlight story. But seriously, this episode was really good. And big congrats to Mike.
From the Elsewhere and Elsewhen, we know that Belos has been needing a Grimwalker since he went by Philip Wittebane, which was over three hundred years ago. We also know that Hunter is possibly a Grimwalker. But, if Belos had working on perfecting his Grimwalker for that long, could it possible that Hunter was not the first Grimwalker? That original Golden Guard was a Grimwalker that was gotten rid of?
@@amethystsavage4018 not entirely true... he can teleport most likely because of the teleportation glyph he carved onto himself... which is magic but that is the very reason he needs to consume palismans.
My Hunter x Willow art may not have been canon but it’s canon in my heart! The two are going to bond even further, I feel. I’m okay with it being platonic because Hunter needs friends first and foremost. But if they become something more with time, my heart will be so fullllll. 😭 Shipping talk aside, I’m so glad Hunter is making new friends and being around people his age. He needs more and more reason to distance himself from Belos before it’s too late.
After watching Labyrinth Runners, I am kinda disappointed with the illusion coven leader. He is the least interesting so far imo. But I didn’t even realize he was in Any Sport In A Storm omggg.
A tiny theory(?): When they took a picture of the Emerald Entrails, Flapjack was in the picture. So I’m guessing that if Belos finds out about Hunter’s palisman because of the picture, Belos will probably do something with Flapjack that would make Hunter stand up for himself or get traumatise, causing him to join the rebellion secretly
It seems like willow's parent met when they were part of a team of flyer derby, so that's part of why she is exited bout it, also gives shipping fuel for willow and Hunter that are also in flyer derby team together.
This was a great episode for both Willow and, especially Hunter. I wasn't expecting Darius to be a semi-uncle figure to help Hunter, but I do like how there is more to these characters than initial impressions. Glad to see Hunter making new friends. As for the previous golden guard being Dell, I can see it being possibly since the mask of the golden guard is that of an owl, and birds are usually associated with the Clawthorne family. Also, congrats on your friend being a storyboarder for the Owl House.
I kinda want to see how the coven heads act when not on duty, I like what they did with Darius. It feels like a nice piece of his character, also keeps him unique compared to the others who we don't know much about so far.
I love what Darius did!!! It totally changed my perspective on him and you summed that up perfectly in your video. I really thought he was just another selfish coven head, but then I freaked out when I saw that he actually does care and how nice he was to Hunter. Darius saying that he’s proud of Hunter must have meant a lot to him.
I reckon that the original Golden Guard was Phillip's brother, which could help with the theory that Hunter is a clone of said brother. That could be why the original guards logo was the same as the Gravesfield one, perhaps the Golden Guard was a persona that his brother invented for himself, maybe as like a sort of town mascot. And maybe Belos thought of this when making Hunter, giving his brothers clone the same title his brother had assumed many years ago.
One thing I saw someone bring up... But when Darius yells at the kids about attacking a Coven Head, he could have been warning them to never do that to anyone else. "Do you have any idea what I am capable of?!" Sounds more like a "You have no idea what you're up against" than a "I am more powerful than you think."
Something I’ve noticed with the coven heads is how Darius has taken the front and centre and has as much of a spotlight as raine, I mean I would have predicted that we’ll get an episode for each coven head, however Darius is by far one of the most interesting of the coven heads, I would love to see more of him
In episode 7 "Eda's Requiem" when Kikimora shows up to capture Raine, Darius tells her to get her Abomination out of his sight and to tell Alador that he's a hack, and in this episode, Alador's post has the caption "Who's the hack now?" Interesting attention to detail!
I just noticed that the oracle coven head and Kikimora both have hair in the shape of clawed hands and they have identical ear shapes. Maybe they're the same species? Related?
This episode really shows the kind of people Hunter needs most in his life and the support that'll get him away from Belos/Phillips control. Darius is the mentor/cool uncle that encourages Hunter to go after what HE wants and lets him enjoy life. The Emerald Entrails is the best example of what a friend/team is supposed to be like(not backstabbing and two faced.) As for Willow... whether they end up together as a couple or best friends I would be okay with either way. She's patient and kind. Her namesake is even a sacred tree to witches and earth goddesses, and is a symbol of healing, hope, safety and FREEDOM. (And what was his dream that made Flapjack choose him?)
It was great to see Hunter, some character development for Willow and All the other characters but, mainly Hunter, Willow and Derios (sorry if the spelling is wrong) and there was Lumity what else do I need. Although we didn't saw King and Eda but, will see them soon 🤗✨✨
Didn’t expect to come out of this episode loving Darius as much as I do He’s evil and ruthless when it comes to achieving a goal he sees as worthy but like,, is more than willing to overlook things that he deems inconsequential and is essentially a cool uncle to hunter and I think that’s a cool setup
i want to see more of hunter and Darius. I feel like Darius might join the rebellion. although that's just my speculation at this point. I am happy for hunter and hope he sees more of his uncle's horrible nature. I would love an episode where he goes to luz and amity for help, espicely amity since she knows more about overbearing parents(odalia😑). I could totally see odalia giving amity hell for dating luz and hunter confiing to amity about how belos treats him.
that social media post might end up coming back to haunt hunter later on seeing as belos earlier stated that the coven heads meeting was supposed to be a test and hunter immediately failed, belos will probably think he went off to goof around with the hexside gang and things might not end well for him :(
This episode made me excited to learn more about all the covens, both met and unknown, as I have a feeling the Day of Unity isn't going to end well for any of them, and I kinda want to feel for them should they be... terminated.
My theory for the Day of Unity is based on a few things. First is why Belos brought back the Basilisks, to study how they absorbed magic. Second, he wants to gather all the coven witches at the Titan's Head on the Day of Unity, when the tide is lowest and the moon covers the sun. Third, in the vision from "Hunting Palisman" we see the Titan (or at least its head) appear on Earth during an eclipse that takes place simultaneously on the Boiling Isles and Earth. Finally, as we saw with Raine, there's a way to paralyze a witch using their coven seal. So knowing all this, my guess is he plans to gather all the coven witches at the Titan's Head, then absorb all their magic. It could be used to power the portal that'll transport the Titan's Head to Earth, his utopia free of 'wild magic', or simply him gaining immense power that could also cure his curse, and both events could be the case. That would leave covenless witches and glyph users being the only ones who could fight him then. Glyphs are powered by the natural magic from the Titan, so if the Titan is brought to Earth then glyphs could continue to work so long as they stay on the Titan. As for teleporting the entire Titan's Head, we saw Philip use a teleportation spell, so he could in theory have a giant one made inside the Titan's Head that combined with all that magic energy and the portal door, plus however the eclipse plays into it (maybe the simultaneous eclipses creates some kind of rift that allows the realms to merge), can transport the Titan's Head to Earth. Maybe the Head is the easiest or only part of the Titan that can be teleported, and hence why he chose that spot to gather everyone in. He also implied that any witch that didn't join a coven would suffer a horrible fate, which could have merely been a scare tactic to get witches to join a coven, but also could be something bad happening to the Isles if the Head were to disappear. I believe that in Philip's journal, he wished to show other humans the Boiling Isles. So his plan now could be to bring the Isles to Earth, a place that in his mind is a much safer realm where the rain isn't boiling, the trees are green, etc. He merely wants to share the two realms with everyone, unaware of the devastating impacts that would have on both.
@@ChrisJones-gx7fc no offense... but i highly doubt his plan is just merging the 2 realms... he HATES witches more than anything and the day of unity is more likely a way to exterminate all witches (he is from the time period where witch hunts were common and where people viewed witches as the ultimate enemy) his plan would more likely be to get rid of all witches entirely before he dies to his curse... he even mentions not wanting to die yet... not until his plans are complete... this is also why he made the coven heads super competitive with each other... to ruin any chance of them fighting back together.
@@arcanumelite4853 and that’s a really good point. Honestly I hope it doesn’t end with the realms merging, like SvTFOE. I do feel like the Basilisk thing may happen though, where he brought them back and studied them so he could learn how to absorb magic. If his plan is to bring all the coven witches to one place then absorb their magic like the basilisk, the question is then what is his plan to use all that magic? He’s building a large portal using the portal door, and it may take an immense amount of magic to power it for what he has in mind. That magic could also cure his curse, if the palisman essence he’s been using is like Eda’s elixirs to keep it at bay, or give him full control over it to allow him to turn into some kind of magic-fueled monster.
i could see Eda's dad being the former Golden guard. what with the similarly palisman, and the mask of the golden guard resembling an the face of an owl. there is definitely enough information there to suggest it at the very least
I would like to apologize in advance for the long comment, but I am a huge windbag who loves to talk about shows he's really into like The Owl House. I greatly enjoyed this episode. The Lumity B-Plot was so fun and cute, and it was also a clever way to get them away from Willow and Gus, because if they were there they would have recognized Hunter immediately and thwarted what he was up to. And it was also nice to hear that Luz told Willow and Gus about Hunter as seen by their reactions to Hunter's reveal and Willows's words. I, along with others, always assumed Luz and Amity were keeping Willow and Gus informed on what Belos is up to with his evil plan, so it's nice to have it confirmed here. Although Willow and Gus were probably only given a simple description of what Hunter looks like from Luz and Amity, so all they would know was that he was a teenager with blond hair and some facial scars, the hair and age are pretty common and with how dangerous the Boiling Isles are I image many people have scars, so again there are probably a few people out there with similar appearances to Hunter so it makes sense that Willow and Gus couldn't tell it was him until his reveal. I also like how this episode fleshes out the people working for the Emperor more, with Darius and of course the greatness of Steve. With how he and Ember Wolf captured Raine, I always thought Darius and Ember Wolf leaned more towards being actually evil, but it looks like they're more on the regular witch side of characters who are probably good but are just following Belos because they don't know how evil and insane he really is. Also, I'm kind of noticing a trend with these last three episodes showing how Belos empire is slowly falling apart, similar to how he is due to the curse. Episode 11: Raine has to be under mind control to keep them under control and Kiki is having some doubts about working for Belos. Episode 12: Steve attended Lillith's party at the Owl House, a party for a traitor at the base of operation of Eda who is still actively fighting against Belos plans and many people know that and despite that Steve still went to the party and the others seemed to be okay with him hanging out showing that Luz, Eda, the others know that most of those working for Belos are just good people who have been tricked into following a mad man, so they can hang out and actually have fun with those that work under Belos. This also shows that Belos is losing control of even his foot soldiers. Episode 13: Hunter fights against Darius to save Willow and the others, thus showing that he's still so conflicted about whether or not to serve Belos, probably, even more, conflicted then scene during Eclipse Lake, Darius keeps things quiet for Hunter and tells him he won't be telling Belos, and Steve is starting to regret his life choices so I'm expecting him to defect pretty soon. Belos's empire is falling apart, and even if Luz and the gang don't succeed at stopping Belos, this empire by the looks of things will fall apart on its own, which is probably what Belos wants, since based on what happened in the last episode it seems like Belos only plans to live long enough to see the Day of Unity completed, so he's probably planning to die soon after that and has no future plans for the empire so he's probably just going to bring it down with him. While there is nothing more dangerous than someone on a path of self-destruction this also gives Luz and the rest of our heroes some much need advantages over the empire to help them win.
This felt like a episode straight from season 1, also hunter feels like peridot as she is going through her character arc. They both are very sheltered and awkward, him saying how gus’s palisman flying was cool is reminiscent of peridot yelling wow thanks
I have a random question that probably means nothing: What’s the house in the human world? Like obviously it’s where Eda went between worlds, but who lived there?
I think Luz's father will never appear. I think his absence, even in the photo, is to focus on the single mother and daugther relationship. There is no mention of him by Camila or Luz. So there is no build up in the series for him to appear. And it would be repeating the formula too much (like, King has daddy issues, Amity has dady issues, Eda has daddy issues...)
Honestly, this was a wonderful episode. I really enjoyed Hunter’s character development and Darius actually caring was a big shock (Nice work TOH Team😉). My Theory is that Hunter’s predecessor was Belos’s brother. Flapjack gave him Caleb for a fake name, implying that his previous owner probably had that name. Otherwise, you might be onto something with Luz having a relative on the Boiling Isles. Dell Clawthorne being the Golden Guard is possible but not probable, as it was outright stated by Gwendolyn that his job was a Palisman Carver (not sure if you missed this or not). In any case, this was good breakdown and I hope you have a wonderful day.
I was rewatching Yesterday’s Lie, and I gasped when I saw the old Golden Guard symbol as it was on the welcome to Gravesfield sign, it made me go into theory overload
maybe the portal needs something in both worlds to work, like how eda's always lead to the cabin? maybe luz's door failed because there was nothing tethering it to the human realm? this doesn't explain how eda's door was made though.
Look at Luz’s mother and then at the picture of Mildred Featherwilde (GWA author) and tell me; That Camila can’t be the author! She seemed completely welcoming and accepting of the concept of the existence of Witches, the Demon Realm, the Boiling Isles and more things that Luz and Vee have told her about. Why would she be so accepting and welcoming of these things unless; she actually is Mildred Featherwilde and her late husband had been to the Demon Realm, told Camila of his adventures and more, and then until her husband’s death; Camila wrote the Good Witch Azura books, which Luz became obsessed with. Camila being the author of the GWA books makes perfect sense, why else would she be adamant in trying to get her daughter to focus on making real friends and give up her fantasy dreams of becoming a witch like Azura. Maybe because Camila feels her daughter is losing touch with reality due to her obsession with the GWA books and she being the author, decided to stop writing because of her husband’s death and also because of Luz’s obsession with Camila’s books!
I just had a thought about the Clawthornes being related to the Phillip. Imagine a flashback with Phillip and his brother, and the brother had red hair. What a perfect reveal that could be.
I loved this episode! It wasn’t as plot heavy as the last two, but it was still very enjoyable! Hunter is my fav character sooooo this was definitely an amazing episode for me! I also love how much character development he got!💖
1. someone noticed on TOH Reddit that *the Oracle coven head looks to be in the same species with Kikimora* 2. clarification, *Flyer Derby isn't a "new sport", it's just not as popular as Grudgby* . And you forgot to note that former players include Willow's fathers, Principal Bump, & Homunculus himself 2.a. regarding why Homunculus was dismissive of Willow's efforts, *I theorize Homunculus probably saw the decline of Flyer Derby against Grudgby* , hence he was projecting his bitterness on an easy target 2.b. in relation to that photo Homunculus flashed, which contained younger versions of him and an annoyed Bump who lost (obviously because he can't see properly while riding his palisman), observe how his palisman is basically an Abomination. And after the revelation that the "demon" on Bump's head is both palisman & seeing aid, *I theorize that Homunculus's Abomination walker is his actual palisman* 3. Dana actually posted fan art on her official Twitter months ago that actually foreshadowed "Any Sport in a Storm": 3.1. Gus's flying style à la surfer/skateboarder 3.2. Willow & Hunter flying in the opposite direction 3.3. the ship name "WiNter" in the Tweet accompanying said fan art (it actually said "wintery" and prior to the episode has no context)
What I liked about Hunter’s decision to protect Willow and co is that due to Darius’ revelation that he was just going to drop them off at Hexside, he didn’t NEED to save them at all. But by doing it, he regained their respect and then gained Darius’. If he didn’t do that, Darius will still see him as a stick in the mud and the rest would rightly hate him for shocking them with the kidnapping. Great character development and writing!
I think Caleb and his witch wife escaped into the future in a time hole and became Eda & Liliths parents. Not knowing Belos was Calebs brother due to the name change. The memory of Caleb dying might not have been death per-say, he mightve just gotten knocked out or pretended. Maybe Belos had what was needed from Caleb already to make a grimwalker too. Since grimwalkers "grows their own" body (evident by the skelletons found) he mightve not needed more than Caleb's blood or something to make one.
I loved it hunter and willow are super cute together hope we can see them in future episodes and the theory are running in. AHaa can’t wait for the finale 😆😆😆

He may not be as against Belos and the system as Raine or as obvious about it, but this does leave room for him to eventually betray Belos.
it doesn't necessarily have to be all about the plot all the time.
@@mythical_phoenix Yeah, I know that, that’s one of the reasons I enjoyed the episode, it felt more like a later season 1 episode, developing the characters and relationships, setting up for plot in later episodes
@@El3gantElephant I agree
I want to see Hunter and Raine interacting
Holy shit that's a good theory
Thats a good one, but how would the grimwalker have powerfull magic?
@@joanagomes9272 ppl think Belos is the most powerful witch on the boiling isles and we have yet to see him do any real magic
@@amethystsavage4018 not entirely true... he can teleport most likely because of the teleportation glyph he carved onto himself... which is magic but that is the very reason he needs to consume palismans.
It's no longer a theory and 16 of them "betray" him
My Hunter x Willow art may not have been canon but it’s canon in my heart!
The two are going to bond even further, I feel. I’m okay with it being platonic because Hunter needs friends first and foremost. But if they become something more with time, my heart will be so fullllll. 😭
Shipping talk aside, I’m so glad Hunter is making new friends and being around people his age. He needs more and more reason to distance himself from Belos before it’s too late.
Yes!! Friends or not, Hunter needs that friendship:,))
I’m fine with it being platonic cause Hunter could REALLY use some real friends but if they become something more, I’ll be pleasantly surprised.
Hunter continues to be my absolute favorite character in the show and he was so adorable (and tragic in a sense) in this episode.
2:05 Actually, if you take a closer look, you'll see that the illusion coven leader also looks back at Hunter as he passes him.
I wonder if the Illusion cover leader is going to be like Loki?
@@syabilaazri7834 maybe a guy who hides under it because he nvm
After watching Labyrinth Runners, I am kinda disappointed with the illusion coven leader. He is the least interesting so far imo. But I didn’t even realize he was in Any Sport In A Storm omggg.
@@MyaoChan808 How is he not interesting? there's so much stuff about him. He seems to fake his power level to become a head is a director
Also Dell's Palisman is a golden cardinal, and Hunter's is a red cardinal
The Golden Guard sigil has a bird on it
Coincidence? Or connection?
I really hope hunter gets his redemption arc and leaves belos and his uncle all together
Hollow Mind is probably his best chance. But first, a Lumity episode, followed by the Raeda Origin episode.
@@quincyconnors9391
Hmm yeah
@@quincyconnors9391 "Raeda." I like that.
I loved this episode so much Hunter is adorable and also I love darius he just wanted hunter to rebel 😆✨
Hunter's face paint over the eye is really simular to flapjack's scar over his eye
It seems like willow's parent met when they were part of a team of flyer derby, so that's part of why she is exited bout it, also gives shipping fuel for willow and Hunter that are also in flyer derby team together.
When Darius told Hunter he made his predecessors proud, h was probably referring to relatives or grim walkers etched from Belos' brother.
The Golden Guard sigil also reminds me of the mural in the Owl House ceiling which further connects the Clawthornes and the Whittebanes (?)
Also Steve says everyone in the Emperor’s Coven had their palismen taken, everyone but Lilith! Maybe because her dad had connections with Belos!
I was thinking that too and I was thinking that his name was actually Caleb also
Loved the face when Hunter says“classic”
One thing I saw someone bring up... But when Darius yells at the kids about attacking a Coven Head, he could have been warning them to never do that to anyone else. "Do you have any idea what I am capable of?!" Sounds more like a "You have no idea what you're up against" than a "I am more powerful than you think."
Something I’ve noticed with the coven heads is how Darius has taken the front and centre and has as much of a spotlight as raine, I mean I would have predicted that we’ll get an episode for each coven head, however Darius is by far one of the most interesting of the coven heads, I would love to see more of him
I'm just glad to see Darius isn't just a prick, love when they give characters depth, though this isn't true for all of the Coven Heads I'm sure
3:43 well.
Literally
In episode 7 "Eda's Requiem" when Kikimora shows up to capture Raine, Darius tells her to get her Abomination out of his sight and to tell Alador that he's a hack, and in this episode, Alador's post has the caption "Who's the hack now?"
Interesting attention to detail!
I love the entrails relationship 😭
I love that willow finally got some more development. I love her so much. There’s not a lot of animated characters with my body type
The Emerald Entrails is the best example of what a friend/team is supposed to be like(not backstabbing and two faced.)
As for Willow... whether they end up together as a couple or best friends I would be okay with either way. She's patient and kind. Her namesake is even a sacred tree to witches and earth goddesses, and is a symbol of healing, hope, safety and FREEDOM.
(And what was his dream that made Flapjack choose him?)
This episode surely did start the whole Hunter x Willow ship. As ever since this episode. I've seen people making that art
Man, all those theories about Luz's father and the previous GGs did _not_ age well.
It was great to see Hunter, some character development for Willow and All the other characters but, mainly Hunter, Willow and Derios (sorry if the spelling is wrong) and there was Lumity what else do I need. Although we didn't saw King and Eda but, will see them soon 🤗✨✨
Didn’t expect to come out of this episode loving Darius as much as I do
He’s evil and ruthless when it comes to achieving a goal he sees as worthy but like,, is more than willing to overlook things that he deems inconsequential and is essentially a cool uncle to hunter and I think that’s a cool setup
i want to see more of hunter and Darius. I feel like Darius might join the rebellion. although that's just my speculation at this point. I am happy for hunter and hope he sees more of his uncle's horrible nature. I would love an episode where he goes to luz and amity for help, espicely amity since she knows more about overbearing parents(odalia😑). I could totally see odalia giving amity hell for dating luz and hunter confiing to amity about how belos treats him.
that social media post might end up coming back to haunt hunter later on
seeing as belos earlier stated that the coven heads meeting was supposed to be a test and hunter immediately failed, belos will probably think he went off to goof around with the hexside gang and things might not end well for him :(
I already loved Darius and this episode made me love him even more.
Last Week: Cool Aunt Lilith
This Weak: Cool Uncle Darius
Social Awkward Hunter and Buff confident Willow is definitely a ship I can get on board witg
This felt like a episode straight from season 1, also hunter feels like peridot as she is going through her character arc. They both are very sheltered and awkward, him saying how gus’s palisman flying was cool is reminiscent of peridot yelling wow thanks
Peridot wasn't ever this well written.
Darius gives me real "bitter ex" vibes when it comes to Alador
I have a random question that probably means nothing:
What’s the house in the human world? Like obviously it’s where Eda went between worlds, but who lived there?
Darius, Hunter and Raine aren't bad, just forced to follow the rules....
I think Luz's father will never appear. I think his absence, even in the photo, is to focus on the single mother and daugther relationship. There is no mention of him by Camila or Luz. So there is no build up in the series for him to appear. And it would be repeating the formula too much (like, King has daddy issues, Amity has dady issues, Eda has daddy issues...)
aaaaand just as I said that, the episode 14 comes crashing thru. damn.
@@gaiapsyche Well you technically called it
Honestly, this was a wonderful episode.
It was at this episode the owl house fandom knew, there was a new ship!
The first letter of every episode of the owl house season 2 part A combined is "seek the key " and for part B it's "fear the lock"
maybe the portal needs something in both worlds to work, like how eda's always lead to the cabin? maybe luz's door failed because there was nothing tethering it to the human realm? this doesn't explain how eda's door was made though.
Just saying it’s crazy how they explored so much of both hunter and willows personalities ❤️❤️
The owl beast scroll washed up on shore like the “Good Witch Azure” books
I just had a thought about the Clawthornes being related to the Phillip. Imagine a flashback with Phillip and his brother, and the brother had red hair. What a perfect reveal that could be.
Did anyone else notice the remy and spring toy in hunters room
I loved this episode! It wasn’t as plot heavy as the last two, but it was still very enjoyable! Hunter is my fav character sooooo this was definitely an amazing episode for me! I also love how much character development he got!💖

I'm surprised you didn't talk about the other penstagram posts. Raine's post and Eda's replies had me rolling.
I'm so glad someone else noticed the golden guard symbol on yesterday's lie gravesfield sign
Given how Eda’s dad has a yellow Canary as a palismen and the Golden Guard emblem is a picture of a yellow bird could be a hint too.
But did you not see his cute little red cardinal socks when his shoe came off??? Precious 💜
1. someone noticed on TOH Reddit that *the Oracle coven head looks to be in the same species with Kikimora*
2. clarification, *Flyer Derby isn't a "new sport", it's just not as popular as Grudgby* . And you forgot to note that former players include Willow's fathers, Principal Bump, & Homunculus himself
2.a. regarding why Homunculus was dismissive of Willow's efforts, *I theorize Homunculus probably saw the decline of Flyer Derby against Grudgby* , hence he was projecting his bitterness on an easy target
2.b. in relation to that photo Homunculus flashed, which contained younger versions of him and an annoyed Bump who lost (obviously because he can't see properly while riding his palisman), observe how his palisman is basically an Abomination. And after the revelation that the "demon" on Bump's head is both palisman & seeing aid, *I theorize that Homunculus's Abomination walker is his actual palisman*
3. Dana actually posted fan art on her official Twitter months ago that actually foreshadowed "Any Sport in a Storm":
3.1. Gus's flying style à la surfer/skateboarder
3.2. Willow & Hunter flying in the opposite direction
3.3. the ship name "WiNter" in the Tweet accompanying said fan art (it actually said "wintery" and prior to the episode has no context)
Darius hates Amity's dad because he has an inferiority complex about those awesome abomotons
3:42 if only they knew *cries in reaching out episode*
I’d also like to point out mr clawthorn and hunter’s palismen are EXTREMELY similar aside from color so maybe that could be alluding to the connection
Same with eye color too
I love how Darius just straight up gives Hunter a phone.
that theory abt luz's dad did not age welll 👀💧💧
I think Caleb and his witch wife escaped into the future in a time hole and became Eda & Liliths parents. Not knowing Belos was Calebs brother due to the name change.
The memory of Caleb dying might not have been death per-say, he mightve just gotten knocked out or pretended.
Maybe Belos had what was needed from Caleb already to make a grimwalker too. Since grimwalkers "grows their own" body (evident by the skelletons found) he mightve not needed more than Caleb's blood or something to make one.
Seeing flapjack being the only palisman in willow pic gives me anxiety lmaoooo
couldn't wait one more episode for the Luz's dad speculation huh?
I loved it hunter and willow are super cute together hope we can see them in future episodes and the theory are running in. AHaa can’t wait for the finale 😆😆😆
I'm pretty sure this episode just spark the beginning of a possible ship between Willow and Hunter.
I hope not. I think Hunter just needs really good friends and family right now.
I'm not too big on the ship right now, but I've seen the ship everywhere, especially, as Hunter did kinda blush
@@amidoshi1909 True, but I don’t really like when a character blushes once at another one and people are like “Omg they totally like each other!” Because blushing can mean a lot of other things like embarrassment, happiness, or if you’re feeling flattered or just not used to compliments.
