Sha' Carri beat her again, huh???
@@MADNEWYORKER914 Shacarri beat Gabby too but of course that doesn't count because Gabby is a sister right? They all have beaten each other but Shacarri specialty is the 100m. Gabby and Abby's specialty is 200m.
LOVE Sha'carri and Abby Steiner! Hope they both can make the Paris Olympics!
Both are out.
Not a rivalry. When one has never loss to the other.
Good luck to both in the 200.
That's the very definition of rivalry. Head to head, they can't both win.
@@stuartwilkie4887 both can't win is true.... but 7 and 0 now 8 and 0 is not a rivalry.
For Abby fans it’s less about the racing and more about race. Despite the results on the track, their skin twin will always be better than Sha’Carri because she has “class” 🙄

Stacked field. Really stacked. Gonna be awesome!
If only 3 qualify for the Paris Olympics, I'm gonna say: Sha'Carri, Gaby Thomas, and McKenzie Long.
for the 200?
Yep, sounds about right.
Britney Brown will get third
If McKenzie didn't get burned out from the grueling College race schedule. The others will have fresher legs. She has to get thru prelim, semi, then the finals.
@@tsmith9063thinking the same, it's going to be an upset somewhere. Can't sleep on Brittany..
Sha'Carri biomechanics in the 2019 video are garbage compared to her current powerful and graceful form of current day.
Indeed
I really like her mechanics in 2021 especially from May to June of 2021. She looked like she had so much potential and even slo motion her relaxation matched Flo Jo’s
It's 2024 and Abby Steiner's mechanics are still gross! 😂
She was a teenager ffs
More fluid.
Excited for the trials, hoping we can see the us podium in the 200:)
Richards is in a completely different league than Abby. Out of 8 meeting shes won 8. She just beat her in the 200
Both women are on the same team fighting for gold for the same country best of luck ladies
And then dominated by the Jamaicans when it matters lol

It was disingenuous to mention Sha’Carri’s 21.61 run without sharing that it was above the legal wind limit. Clearly she has a lot more range/possibility and I’m excited to see what she accomplishes this year. Honestly, this is going to be a great race! I hope Abby is fully recovered and able to compete at her best.
If Abby Steiner was able to develop a quick block start, she would be unbeatable..

@@Astro2024 Not so…She is always coming up from way behind, as far as dashes go…They are over in seconds… They would not have enough time to catch her…The way she makes up the distance in such a short period of time…If she came out of the blocks at the exact same rate of speed as the rest of the field, she leave them in the dust over the finish line with room to spare..
@@Astro2024 The 200m is not a speed curve race for Steiner. Her closing speed has always been her strength.
Keep these videos up! You just got a sub.
Please start at the actual time and date of these races to your videos
7:00 Could you do a video one day explaining the NCAA-system, how the structures work, why they race so much, where the money comes from etc…
All but Americans understand the high school and college competition system. It’s complicated 😅.
The reason why the NCAA has so many races is because they have two track seasons that are indoor and outdoor. Professional athletes have their choice whether to participate in the indoor track season or not. And they choose to do as many races as they want. Also, the NCAA has two championships races one is their Conference Championships and the other is the NCAA Championship race.
The money comes from college football and men's basketball
@@edwardjones717 But why do young athletes don't skip races like the pros do. From my point of view it's not only about draining them but compromise their ability to stay injury-free. An explanation would be great indeed
Run ABBYYY RUNNNNNN ! ( I love that girl !)
Not the forced "rivalry" 😆 Its giving Serena vs Sharapova...
They both had breakthrough careers in college but Richardson was able to build up from hers and continue to grow. Fans are stuck in the past. No one cares about your personal best at a trials if you couldn't follow it up with a big medal.
Look at how many people have ran a personal best faster than Noah's...yet he is clearly the best and the most consistent runner.
Early on I expected a healthy rivalry between gabby and steiner since htey are both 200m specialists. The thing is Richardson is improving her weaker race, and even if she beats steiner people will simply say steiner is not at her best, because they are stuck on that PB.
They are stuck on the fact that Abby won two different 200m Championships with times of 21.80 and 21.77. Shacarri has yet to match those times in any of her 200m events. So therefore Shacarri can't be called a faster 200m runner than Abby.
@@edwardjones717 Not sure if you are replying to the wrong comment, but Ive never seen anyone say that. My comment is very straightforward.
@@Mike-bv3bt Okay let's see after tomorrow night results what excuses people are going to say. If Shacarri clocks 21.60 to 21.70 then it means Gabby now has stiffer competition than Abby to deal with because Abby has never clocked anything faster than 21.77.
@@Mike-bv3bt Shacarri's personal best time of 21.92 isn't going to be competitive going against Gabby.
@@edwardjones717 Are you trolling? Who said its going to be? How do you know sha'carri is going to run 21.92 again, a time she jogged? Why are you making this about gabby when the video and original comment was about this fake rivalry between richardson and abby? I am all for discussions, but you seem to be just trying to win an argument by moving the goal post all over the place.
Wish there was a 4x200 relay in the Olympics.
I agree with you. They have the 4x200m relays only in High School relays.

Steiner v Richardson is not a rivalry....not by a long shot.
Steiner usually better at 200m but completely ng off injury
I think they are all holding back
US Trials: SR 21.80 isch, Gabby 21.8x 2nd, Abby 22.0x 3rd, rest over 22.1x and won't matter.
OLY: Jackson takes it at 21.5x over SR 21.7x and Gabby 21.7x, Abby fading to 7th or so.
Could be, but I think Gabby could go faster than that in the Olympic Finals
You are too pessimistic, why would Sha'carri Richardson not break 22s?
@jojolords4523 Read his comment again....
A woman ripped like a man is surely on the juice.
Doubt Abby’s in top form. My money is on Gabby.
The women's 200 Meter race is my favorite track and field event. If I had to bet, I'm taking Sha 'Carri Richardson. I would love to see Abby Steiner run well as well as Gabby Thomas. I think this is a killer final. As a longshot, Brittany Brown seems to be running well. Heck, I like all the contenders in this race. I've always liked Jenna Prandini as well. Can't wait to see it.
Sha'Carri is a beast!! So inspirational
Hayward is outrageous for a university facility. Looks like a mini version of a facility you would see in a science fiction 2040s Olympics in Dubai. 😊
Love them both!!!
Can’t wait to see our ladies roll. We have a stud track team
Gabby Thomas is fast in the 200than both of them!!? Gabby is faster than Abby in 100as well!!!
I would rank Gabby as the Number 1/ Women's 200m runner for the USA.. She gobbles up alot of real estate with those long strides in the last 70 yards.
Going to be an interesting US W4x1 Pool depending on how well the likes of Gabby, Abby & McKenzie run in the 200m; a potential 21.6/49.6 Gabby if fit & in-form will run 2nd leg on both 4x1 & 4x4 Teams in Paris. Will be very difficult esp after running all 3 400m rounds @Trials, but would love to see JaMeesia Ford be just the 2nd U20 Athlete in history to run sub 22s in the 200m!
The women’s 100m final came out so well, I don’t think they will look elsewhere for alternates. Tamari Davis 10.91 and ran on the world championships last year. Aleia Hobbs 10.93, TT Terry will only be in the 100m so she is available. Melissa Jefferson isn’t even entered in the 200m. Tamara Clark ran 10.95 and Jenna prandini is there. Everyone outside of Sha’Carri will be running just the 100. Chances they will have a pool, but only Aleia will run one day.
@@lasvegas4164 Tamari Davis has established herself on 1st leg going back to last yr's WC & this yr's World Relays. Gabby who was meant to run on 2nd leg in Budapest (until a well documented last min change had her running 3rd leg) ran on 2nd @World Relays on both 4x1 & 4x4 Teams! Sha'Carri will always be anchor leg, leaving one of TT/MJ to run on 3rd. IF all 3 ladies make the 100m Final & Gabby makes the 200m Final in Paris, then could see Tamari, McKenzie, Tamara/Jenna & Aleia running the 4x1 semi before the others are brought in for the Final.
@@AllInTheGame01 All of that is true, but I've been following track since 1964 and I've never seen alternates used that way. The 4x100 is usually comprised of the 4 fastest from the trials. Alternates or relay pool are not used to run the Simi/ Rd 1 although sometimes that is the case. They are used in the case where someone like Sha'Carri will be running 6 races, or if someone gets injured. Tamari was 4th and won't be running any individual events. Melissa & TT are only in the 100m. The 100m finals are 8/3 & the 4x100 starts on the 8th. It could go another way, but remember the U.S. lost out on medals before because of alternates.
Prandini was 7th place in the 100m finals. She didn't win her heat in the 200m. I don't see her making the trip to Paris as a top 3.
@@everlast9901 She probably won’t in an individual event, but her 7th place finish might get her in the relay pool.
Didn't know he was going to talk through the whole thing.
GO ABBY!
When will the women’s 200 meter trials be ? Thank you
Gabby is just going to have to drop 21.6 again to prove this is her race.
Steiner is ok but not elite. I know you like trying to prop her up but she’s just not in Richardson and Thomas’ class.
When it really matters Abby gets beat.
Go look at the fastest women 200m runners in track history and then explain to me why Shacarri's name is 11 names behind Abby's name on that same list. That's why Shacarri's specialty is 100m .
Old news Sha'Carri just ran a 21.98 in her 1st heat.
Wow. Champions, all...🌹🌹
You can tell Sha'carri put on my more muscle since her collegiate days. She's got more power than back around 2019-2021ish years
Steiner has not looked in top form since her injury, though honestly Long is the only that has really posted great times this season. There are a bunch who can challenge here, but I think Gabby Thomas wins. It is going to take some season bests one way or another.
Steiner was NOT injured. She had bone spurs. That is not an injury, but a condition. And hardly a terrible one at that. There's a standing joke about Donald Trump gewtting deferrments from serving in Vietnam because he had "bone spurs". Bone spurs is not some debilitating condition, it's a nuisance that in worse case scenarios can cause plantar facitis. Mnay athletes and people function with bone spurs. Steiner didn't sustant any bone break nor soft tissue injury i.e. ACL tear, ligament/tendon damage of that sort. Bone spurs are treated by them being sanded down. It's an outpatient procedure with a recovery rate of a few weeks to a couple of months, and that part is the result of the inscisions made. Stop using her repaired condition as an excuse for her mediocrity.
Also, that surgery was way back in August. Let it go. Y'all carryon as if she had open-heart surgery, along with a 3-organ transplant of liver, lung, and kidney. Sheesh.

It's going to be fire. Although I'm excited to see what each of these talented ladies will throw down in the final, my personal favorite is Gabby T. Good luck to all!
2:07 Annnd THIS IS WHY ITS NOT A RIVALRY😂😂😂
Thanks to Gabby Thomas, Sha’carri Richardson, and the new kid from Ol’ Miss, Abby Steiner will need to break 22 seconds to make the team. Abby hasn’t broken 22 in the 200m, or broken 11 in the 100m since she switched from the Nike spikes to Puma. In 2022, in the Nike spikes (with the AirPod under the forefoot), Abby ran 21.80 in the NCAA finals, and then 21.77 in the USATF finals. Both of those times would have put Abby in 2nd place last year (ahead of Sha’carri, who uses those Nike spiked BTW), and would probably put Abby on Team USA again this year.
Now you blaming the spikes? She ran on a fast track. And Sha'Carri is 8-0 in head-to-head matchups against her. But it must be the spikes.
@@EVERLASTING12000Now the Abby glazers are using the "spikes" excuse. When will it ever end?! 🤣🤡🤦🏻♂️
Ok I'll say it because I haven't seen anyone point it out. McKenzie Long has very similar sprinting mechanics as Abby
I am very intrigued but Steiner's mechanics. Her coach is no fool and they have changed a bit since HS. My guess, and I haven't looked since last year, is that her arms were altered to match her turnover? No time to bring her hands up in the "classic" technique that everyone thinks is a must. Folks so go watch Michael Johnson and stop acting like everyone has to be the same. Her mechanics aren't why Richardson is better than her.
I hope they both make it, then both podium in the Olympics. Tough haul that would be but the races have to be rand and anything can happen. Go US!
Shacarri finished in 4th and Steiner finished 6th
Soo where is the world is Abby Steiner?? Inquiring minds need to know, now !!!😮
Still recovering from an injury according to her glazers.
The great DWIGHT hope train
Abby? Rivalry? The disrespect over Gabby Thomas!
Abby isn't even a favorite to make the team.
It's no disrespect everybody knows Gabby is faster than Abby and Shacarri. Most racist people don't believe that Abby is faster than Shacarri despite the fact that Abby has beaten Gabby a lot of times.
@edwardjones717
Why do you persist with this lie? Steiner and Thomas have split. They've raced each other 4 TIMES with each one winning twice against each other. THAT IS NOT "A LOT OF TIMES".
Fascinating...how Steiner beats Thomas twice (and loses to her twice) ---- that means something. But Richardson beats Steiner 8 TIMES AND REMAINS UNDEFEATED AGAINST HER ---- but that doesn't mean anything. Now you want to move the goal post with PB times, all the while hypocritically gaslighting in otherwords...extreme projection, people with accusations of racism.
The pressure is off of Sha'C, Melissa & TT. they're going to Paris. They're the ones to beat.
A champion always need a person better than self to be an achiever of world standards
“The world’s fastest 200 athlete in the world this season” you don’t say
If their head to head count in 7-0 in Richardson’s favor then there is no rivalry. The two names do not belong together in a headline

Facts! They added breakdancing, which has nothing to do with sports.
Where is the Jamaica trials coverage?
I don’t see why Richardson and Steiner are being compared against each other. Richardson is in an entirely different league than Steiner.
According to their best personal 200m times and the two championships that Abby won for the NCAA and the USATF Championships. Richardson is not in Abby's class as far as the 200m is concerned.
Not in the 200 she not
@edwardjones717 Sha'carri has speed and the mechanics to demolish Abby's personal best. She just needs to learn how to run it. Meanwhile, Abby hasn't fixed her mechanics, which are gross and will cause more injuries in the future. Get your race out of it, and you wouldn't be so offended. smdh have some class
@@afrox3109 I don't think Steiner's health has been that great this year. 21.7 is smoking but she's not there consistently. Steiner was in good physical condition in College.. but marginally coached. She needs both Coaching and Great Health to get to top form... perhaps then she could run her PB on a more consistent basis. That would be good ... Then you'd have Gabby and Abby as a 1- 2 punch.
@OmahaSand She needs to train with Bobby Kersee!!! He will fix those mechanics and have her running faster and smoother. Look at what he did for Prandini.
Here come the Abby glazers😂
when is the Women's 200 meters Olympic trial race happening?
First round tonight at 5:45 pacific time
Semis are Friday night at 7:06 pacific
Finals are Saturday at 5:27 pacific
Jameesia Ford is dangerous, just as quick as she is strong, and there are these points mid race where it seems like she blacks out and her Dog takes over, and it matters not who she races or her position, she catching a body and destroying a dream. I know she is a freshman and still needs to put together whole races, show the mental strength to endure every round. However if there was a sprinter who's skill I could keep and place anywhere, Id choose her skill set. Id also place it in any football player who carries the ball, instant playmaker.
I will put my 10 cents on Prandini making the team

I think 21.60 is faster than 21.83 so that would place Gabby Douglas above Abby Steiner
That's not the case it's the Shacarri fan base trying to place her above Abby in the 200m. When the fastest women 200m lists indicate she is not.
😢sad that you have to pit them against each other...
When will this event take place?
This is not a competition but ok
I love you Abby but if you can't get under 22 seconds in the 200m you should change careers. Abby can't compete with sha'carri because the difference is too big. Sha'carri is a world star in 100m and 200m
If top 3 in Track & Field is unfair just think about swimming; only first place is guaranteed an Olympic birth.
Shacarri was gliding and didn't see KY coming up. If she did, she would've punched it. Hopefully ShaCarri learned from that bc KY will come up again and may win next time...2 seconds was quite close and gave KY the idea she could be beat!
