  • Tina Šetkić is a French guitar prodigy and has been melting people's faces on RUclips since the age of 8! I'm ashamed to admit that I've never watched one of her videos before (despite me being a guitarist myself) so this is well overdue. Come join me for my first time hearing Tina S!

Her covers of Steve Vai's For the Love of God, Jason Becker's Altitudes, and Gary Moore's The Loner, are all phenomenal; and my personal favourites.

To do tapping, she put a hair elastic at the top of the neck to avoid resonances. Everything is calculated and very precise at Tina. She also put a string block nut at the top to prevent her strings from flying away !!
She changed her micro setting 7 times during the song. She made 23 slides (wiiiiooooouuu). And she smiled 7 times too !

Cheers Ron ☺️ I truly admire players like Tina and many others spending 12 hours a day practising guitar, locking themselves away to become the best they can be. Unfortunately for me, I liked beer, weed and girls too much growing up so just wrote my own songs instead. At least that way, no one could ever complain I'd f*cked it up! 😜

I'm delighted for you to get to Tina S. She's amazing. Commenters say she _averaged_ 6 notes/second. A concert pianist and her hubby reacted a couple of years ago. She said she'd played the piece a few times, and believed Tina was note perfect. It's very different, but I also like her cover of _For The Love Of God - Steve Vai - Cover by Tina S_ ruclips.net/video/nJi8iSpzq9I/видео.html (6m) Tina hasn't the showmanship of Steve Vai, but I'd argue she plays it as well or better. Sadly, her Dave Gilmour cover is only 1m:45s _Pink Floyd - Comfortably Numb Solo_ she could probably cover any Gilmour. The only well-known guitarist I can think of who might defeat her might be Mark Knopfler. Frankly all of her old covers are ridiculously good, and she was still a teenager.
Very sadly, she had some seriously horrible trolls. They'd comment to reactors sh!t like her parents had died horrifically in a car crash. I struggle to imagine why anyone would follow reactions to her, only to write stuff like that. She was just a kid. 😞
Anyway, you're reaction was "correct", 😂 or 😵 So ✅
Take Care, and Best Wishes. ☮

    • @melvinthinks
      @melvinthinks  13 дней назад +1

Wow! That's horrible. I knew a little bit about her taking a break for 7 or so years and coming back in a new band but I wasn't aware of the exact reasons as to why. I honestly don't understand why people do and say these sorts of things, hiding behind a keyboard with the sole aim of upsetting someone you've never met. I think people are a lot more open and aware of trolls and internet toxic behaviour nowadays, but it still doesn't make it any easier for people to read or ignore. Unless you completely turn off comments, which then eliminates the community. It's a tough one. Especially for people like her who go viral and have a huge audience. It inevitably brings a few idiots to the table.

Nice fairytale propagated in social networks.
But she stopped 7 years for her studies and she has been back with a band since 2023.
The band is called Spin Twice and she composes the songs of the band.
They released another song last week.
I love the band, really, but don’t expect a lot of guitar solos,, she wants to out the band and rhe singer forward for now.
And also be prepared to her new tattoo look 😂

    (I'am Hungarian, please translate)
Tina ezzel e videóval zárta le régi korszakát, amelyben a gitározási technikáját fejlesztette.
Értelmetlen bárkinek is elégedetlenkedni Tina miatt.

Hey Rio - thanks for this message. Perhaps Tina felt after all of the admiration she had received following these viral videos that she wanted to take her music and guitar playing in another direction. But when you become an internet sensation like she was, and at quite a young age, there is a lot of social media pressure and expectation. So that could be why she shut herself off and decided to take a break from RUclips and making these shred videos. Maybe she wasn't being true to herself and was fulfilling viewers needs as opposed to her own creative desires. That's my conclusion 😀

Hold up, you've never heard/seen her before?
She had amazing content back when she was still making stuff on YT. Real master of the guitar!
I love this one in particular.
The arrangement is actually not hers, but of a guy going by Dr. Viossy or such. I think her version is better though.
Also, did you just pull the Seinfeld "but she has manly hands" thing? 🤣
