Hejira#2854 A lot of the female artists in the 90s were like that. I mean look at Tori Amos, PJ Harvey, Poe and Fiona Apple. All of them had a unique sound.
What makes Bjork voice soo special is her ability to change, bend, shift and shape it in any way possible. From a technical perspective she's more in touch with her vocal cords than any other singer. Bjork is truly a natural born singer.
there was no tension with the Sugarcubes, They just decided to split as they didn't want to ruin their friendships and sell there souls to the music industry
She was 36 in that 2001. performance of I've seen it all, still she effortlessly looks like a 20-something y.o. girl singing for her soul in front of a mirror. She's a true musical genious, I'm sorry I haven't discovered her work earlier.
Well i'll say Björk is the long lost daughter maybe of Kate Bush, if you listen to the artist in kate Bush she isa agressive in the music that was like bjork
They should make an award for creative original artists who make and paint their own canvas, adults and youths from all ages who’ve proven that they don’t care what people say, or what their standards are. That they just do what their heart desires. The Björk Award.
My favorite artist ❤ the only celebrity whose interviews I truly, fully, and deeply enjoy following and whose goals I actively support. Much love to the genius that is Björk!
Bjork is one of the greatest unique sounding artists of the 90s and beyond! Wish she would release some more debut style music with a 2020s touch! That'll be amazing!
I have loved her since Sugarcubes. She is in her own genre. What I love most about her (besides her music) is that she just doesn't give a "F" about what other people or the media think about her. She does her! So unique, so different. Maybe not for everyone but I definitely recommend checking out her first 3 albums (Debut, Post, and Homogenic) in order. That's how I have introduced her to friends who never heard of her and they are now huge fans. Not every album is incredible and there tends to be a song on each album I don't like, however her artistic ability never fails. She has a huge range vocally and musically. No 2 albums are alike and each seem like they are telling a story (some actually are, like her latest album). Her videos are beautiful, creative and oftentimes intense. A lot of people like to pick on her "swan dress" but seriously, there is more to any person than one outfit they wore one time. That outfit does not define who she is. SHE defines who she is. So, with that being said, to anyone who has not heard her music, PLEASE do. Then decide if she is for you or not. I can tell you that you will definitely be impressed with her subtle tones and angelic, almost fairy-like, sounds. She is from Iceland and the way she sings is actually an ancient singing style dating back to the Vikings (heard her say that in an interview on MTV, I believe). Whether you like her or not, you cannot deny she has talent. For me, she is what music is about; creative, pushing boundaries, trying things no one else has (she has an album that only uses minimal percussion but mostly vocals to make the instrument's sounds), and is honest with her audience in her music. She tells us who she is in her songs and not many artists are willing to do that.
I enjoy her exploration as an artist and have been following her since her days with the Sugarcubes. Even so, I had NO idea she started at such a young age. Thankful for this brief, informative tidbit.
I remember you is possibly her most beautiful piece that all can listen to without having to be apart of her following or have an ear for special music
Leon Tarkshina Avant garde is generally less electronical, but Homogenic can still be classified as avant garde. But I'd say Vulnicura fits the genre more, with its use of strings and vocals. Yes both Bjork and Kate Bush are great artists in unique ethereal musical styles that they made their own! Doja Cat aka Amala is the 2020s next artist to use unique ethereal musical styling to her own individual personality which comes out in each n every song she sings! I'm so honored to have seen the Sugar Cubes at Tipatinas in New Orleans. Crazy awesome show!
Honestly she was in the year 3000 in the 1980s.

björk is the queen of the whole galaxy
Her and the sugar cubes performed mainly improvisation. I think she is highly enlightened, and also oozes a natural sexuality without being vulgar.
I've been trying to tell people that for years.
