    “As a result, K. likewise felt embarrassed; they exchanged helpless glances; there was some kind of misunderstanding between them, which neither of them could clear up….K. was inconsolable about the artist's dilemma, he began to cry.”
    I have never read The Trial, but this small passage was beautiful. As I understood it, the artist is there to write K’s death, but when he acknowledges him, K is not just a name anymore. There is now meaning. I’m wondering if the misunderstanding wasn’t just the artist writing K’s name not knowing that it was K behind him at first. I think the misunderstanding was that this artist was supposed to do his job “in purest gold” and K was not supposed to know, but it did not happen that way. Instead, they understood each other so much that they get embarrassed and K even cried over the artists dilemma, knowing that the artist was only trying to do his job, but now could barely move because he had acknowledged K. K even accepted his fate and jumped into the hole himself. I could be way off in what Kafka was intending, but it was such a great reading! Great artwork too! 😎

    Do your video-related drawings have a destiny?
    Of the Russian authors to whom I've thus far been exposed, I might personally relate to Kafka the strongest. Pasternak and Chekhov both seem to be wonderful authors for other readers. No Dostoevsky yet, but a lotta folks I respect have strong opinions about him.

    • @attention5638
      @attention5638  2 года назад +1

      I definitely relate to Kafka more than any other author, for the most part, even if I am not completely sure what that means for me haha. And though he was German, he was so hugely inspired by Russian literature, as so much of his subject matter can be found in the likes of Dostoevsky. As far as the destiny of these sketches/paintings, they will more than likely end up somewhere misplaced in the future haha. I actually thought of doing this when reading your novel! 😅 I wanted to do a reading from your work and paint/sketch something and send it to you! If you would be okay with such a thing. 😎
