I’m an American national that’s lived in the UAE and visit every year ; Abu Dhabi is still extremely more conservative than Dubai, in fact western restaurants like cheese cake factory have dividers for families so sisters can take their niqab off to eat. Alhamdulillah they have preserved something. Abu Dhabi today is what Dubai was 10 years ago in terms of society.

Im also not impressed by Grand Mosque there and I’ve never been to UAE before nor do I ever plan to.
I’d rather go to Muslim countries with real culture like Morocco, Senegal, Egypt, Uzbekistan, Turkiye, Syria/Palestine, Bosnia, Iran, and parts of Russia like Kazan or northern Caucasus.

These places you mentioned are amazing MashaAllah!
The only thing is that someone like me who is wanting to move from US to the Muslim lands, UAE could be the first good step
Due to job opportunities and stuff and English being pretty common.
Plus it being developed and extremely safe

@ac72 As a Muslim resident in abudhabi, yes, come here, trust me, better than Saudi in Saudi most industries are about oil in Ua. Its construction, finance, airline, oil industries, hotel services, and health care, as well as teaching very good paying jobs.

I visited the mosque in 2009. Believe it or not, I had the exactly the same feeling. It was an amazing work of art nevertheless I did not feel like I was visiting a mosque. A palace? A museum? May be. But not a mosque.
When I visit a mosque, especially if it is the first time I visit that particular mosque, I pray 2 rakahs of masjid salah (Tahiyat al-Masjid). I realized that I forgot the masjid salah only after leaving the mosque. Another thing: I did not see a single Muslim praying in the mosque. Everyone was looking at the walls, chandelier, carpet, etc. Noone was praying...
I have seen many beautiful mosques. This is the only one that I felt that way...

The best mosque I've visited was Omari mosque in the old city of Aleppo near the Antioch/Antakya gate, It was like 100 metre inside + 100 metre rawda /front yard.
It's historic mosque built by the order of omar Ibn alkhattab as the first mosque in the levant under the name alshuaibyih mosque
    I don’t know if it's still there.

There is no rain in Abu Dhabi at all, but they have been creating artificial rain, artificial clouds and artificial fog since the 90's, but other emirates such as Ras Al Khaimah and Dubai always have heavy rainfall naturally.

I have been there, cannot even call it a Masjid. Btw I do not know how some people call Abu Dhabi more "conservative" than Dubai, go at night at certain places in Abu Dhabi, full live prostitution on the open streets. I found Sharjah better than Dubai and Abu Dhabi, however the whole of the UAE is just the Arabic version of Israel, nothing else, expect whom ALLAH has put His Mercy on, the country is far removed from Islam.

If these Arab countries built modern buildings for commercial and residential purposes but left the masaajid in a dire state, there would be a major uproar. dude whats with these negativity among Ummah? n there is a hadith about mosques being like palaces n hearts of believers being empty....I have seen some of his videos n I feel brother Jan is very humble n sincere....which should b the characteristic of every muslim...if he wasnt impressed by something, thats his opinion, why r u condemning him for that? I feel like reverts r choosing the Ummah over their friends n families....if u treat them like this, its really disheartening. may Allah guide all of us, its better to stay silent then spreading negativity. Salam.
